Beautiful and walkable

This area is scenic and easy to get around.

This is a completely renovated attic apartment in one of the most beautiful places in Lübeck.

The space
This is a penthouse with a large, south-facing roof terrace.
However, you have to go to the fourth floor of an old building without an elevator. I have taken a review, it is about 75 steps. Once at the top, you are at an airy height, have a view of 6 of the 7 Lübeck church towers and can see the Maritim in Travemünde through the rear windows in good weather, but at least the rotating sign of the Schwartau Marmaladenwerke. In front of it then and visible in any weather, the roofs of the old town, the Hanseatic Museum and the Trave with the old assembly halls from the time of the penultimate turn of the century.
In front of the roof terrace is the Jacobikirche, in my opinion the most beautiful of Lübeck's churches, the church of the seafarers.
Within walking distance (1 min) is the Schiffergesellschaft. Must have seen, impressive guest room. Opposite the Holy Spirit Hospital, the oldest retirement home in Germany. 100 m up Königstr. the Willy Brandt and Günter Grass House, opposite Mucks Kunsthaus…
You can't see the Holstentor from here, but it doesn't matter, you'll find it anyway. Next to it is the soft ice cream parlor that has remained unchanged for 50 years, where I have already eaten ice cream with my grandmother. Unfortunately, soft ice cream production was discontinued, too expensive.
So much for the things outside the apartment.

The penthouse itself is not particularly large, about 50 sqm. Looks bigger in the photos. However, the quality is not determined by the number of square meters.
It has everything you need for a pleasant stay. In the open kitchen there is a stove with induction hob, a large, unmistakable refrigerator and a really unconventional extractor hood. And who praises their extractor hood?

In the living area, you sit on leather with unexpected possibilities. Next to it is the matching teak wall on thin legs.
The bedroom is small, double bed, two bedside tables and a large window.
In the bathroom, there is a bathtub for sinking ships.
In addition, there is the enclosed single garage belonging to the apartment. Makes life with the zealous and taciturn Lübeck police officers much easier.
As the city center becomes more and more traffic-calming, 2 bikes are available. 24 Dahon folding bikes. Adjustable to any body size, one with and one without a coaster brake. They are waiting in the garage for their use.
In addition, 2 inflated SUPs hang on the garage wall. With a little skill, you can circle the old town island on the water.
If the acoustics from the outside (glockenspiel of the Holy Spirit Hospital and the churches) are not sufficient, additional sound can be generated by means of a Braun system. Even with a turntable. The records are also available. The first by Bowie or Eric Clapton 461 Ocean Boulevard. Bluetooth module included.

And if you have been on a sightseeing tour all day and still don't have enough in the evening, a decent 4 k flat screen awaits you. The Frame, to be exact.

Of course, there is also a washing machine with stain program, water assessment and scales, whatever you need.
Iron, espresso machine, dual toaster, tea maker, hair dryer and egg cup made of teak wood. Everything there.

And if that's still not enough, you can camp on the terrace with the air bed. Under the starry sky. In addition, a glass of sparkling wine, the audiobook of the Buddenbrooks and in the darkness the ringing of the bells, which the said Consul Buddenbrook has already heard.
Forever young.

Guest access
To everything inside the apartment and garage.

Other things to note
Occasional seagull cries.
On full moon nights with a visible moon and deck lighting switched on, you can hear the quiet singing of sailors and the ship's bells of long-lost ships on the terrace.

Try it, it's not a sailor's yarn.

Neighborhood highlights

There are 2 supermarkets in the neighborhood.
1. Out of the front door, turn left down the Koberg and turn left again into the big Burgstrasse. Right across the street is a penny.
Better, but a little further is a Rewe. Out of the front door, straight ahead, past the boat company, straight ahead. At the corner where the pedestrian zone begins, turn right down into the Beckergrube. Across the street is the Rewe. Has, I mean, until 23.00 on and a good assortment.
Seen from the Koberg, the left side of the city centre is the most beautiful, as it was almost intact during the war.
Otherwise, run and discover. There's really plenty to find on the limited downtown space.

Lives in Düsseldorf, Germany
I'm originally from Northern Germany, my wife from Spain. Since we couldn't come to an agreement where we want to live, we met in the middle, well almost, Düsseldorf. Often we were wondering how would an apartment where you live for a limited time to feel right at home? Manageable but not sterile, individually but not crowded. And well. After long discussions between North German heavy hat and southern temperament, the solution has succeeded quite well, we find it. Except for the microwave. It's not there. My wife says tidy pots and a good stove are more important. Spain is different.
