Vava'u, Tonga, Tonga

We , Nikki and Paea live on the edge of Paea's childhood village. We face the lagoon . The village comprises of 98 residents living a simple life nestled up on the hill behind
Local birds punctuate the evening air, herons pop in, and fruit bats hover over trees as night falls. Chickens and roosters don't seem to dominate the night as in Rarotonga!!
Local women gather in the day to weave and plait mats and fans. Time spent with them can be arranged.
Local students can be asked to take you on a guided tour of their village, explaining life from a young person's perspective.

I am a New Zealand born trained teacher who originally ventured into the Pacific...Rarotonga in the late '70's. I have lived in the Cook Islands and Niue over the past 40 years and now about to enter a new chapter in my life and have moved to Vava'u Tonga with Paea my new husband in July 2017. Look for our three Airbnb Fales/units, “Vaimalo Fale" Vaimalo Sunrise and Vaimalo Sunset both over the water. Come and stay. The main attraction is kayaking in the huge Lagoon, snorkeling, fishing, diving and swimming with the whales June-Oct-Nov. See you there for your next trip. Malo.
