Awesome view in Taormina

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Via David Herbert Lawrence, Taormina, Sicily 98039, Italy

If you are looking for a place where to enjoy the beautiful mood of Taormina and the relaxing atmosphere of a quiet surrounding with a breath taking view of the sea, we can offer the perfect accommodation.

The Space

The house is located on top of a hill facing the sea, 10-15 minutes walking (1km) from "Porta Messina" one of the two entrance arches to the city centre. The apartment consists of 3 bedrooms (2 double bedrooms - 1 with private bathroom and 1 double bedroom with bunk bed), 1 big bathroom with bath and a large living room with fully equipped kitchen. The apartment is provided with dish machine, washing machine, air conditioning, heating, Wi-Fii and TV in the living room. Bed linen, towels + the initial and final cleaning of the apartment are included. Free parking is readily available outside in front of the house.

Surrounded by the countryside with the typical Mediterranean vegetation, runners and walkers frequent the area.
Cafes, restaurants bars and grocery shops are in walking distance.

The owners, Francesco & Liliana are reliable, friendly, helpful, caring, funny and genuinely hospitable.

Very reasonably priced, we are completing the external front of the building (see photos), but inside the apartment is complete, confortable and new. Also please consider that to reach the house there is a steep uphill climb for about 150 meters, but the terrific view from the balcony definitely worth it.
It is also very quiet at night and there are few streetlights so, though considering this when coming back, you can surely enjoy sweet nights under a wonderful starry sky!!

  • Fantastic place! The sea, the hills and the town in one view... Wonderful hosts and a finely decorated, well-furnished, perfecly clean and spacious appartment. What can we ask more? Of course the slope to get there is pretty steep but we found this to be a quite healthy exercize, all the more needed for proper digestion of the very good cuisine served in restaurants and gelaterias in Taormina and elsewhere in this region. Taormina is nice in itself but also a good base for exploring the country including charming towns (e.g. Castelmola and Giardini) and interesting cities (Catania, Messina), not forgetting the very imposing Etna.

  • Francesco and Liliana were wonderful hosts - very welcoming and made sure we settled in well and felt right at home. Their place is really wonderful and the photos don't do it justice. The flat is very well fitted out and perfect for a group of friends travelling. The walk to and from the center of town is a little steep (and the drive up there certainly is) although this just means you get the benefit of the magnificent view.
Perfect for aperetivo overlooking the sea all the way to main-land Italy! I would highly recommend staying at their place.

  • Spectacular view and a comfortable relaxing environment with very gracious and helpful hosts. If you self cater there are limited supplies in Taormina. The hill to the house is steep but you need the exercise to walk off the gelato anyway! Driving in Taormina is not the easiest and Francesco kindly came to our rescue when we were lost. A brilliant base to do the east coast of Sicily and Mt Etna. Grazie Francesco and Liliana, we had a wonderful stay!

  • The other reviews here were all spot on. Francesco and Liliana are both lovely and hospitable. They were very flexible when our plans changed dates/people. The view is awesome, to say the least. You can have your coffee and watch the sun rise or at night see the moon pop up in the sky. It is peaceful, the house is clean and tidy. We had 5 people and were very comfortable. It is indeed a steep walk but if you can't deal with it you can always take a taxi up from Taormina.
Any time we had a question about anything with the house, Francesco and Liliana responded immediately, yet we felt very private and they gave us our space. Highly recommend this charming home.

  • The apartment is nicely decorated, spacious and clean, the kitchen is well-equipped. Francesco and Liliana are great hosts, helpful and easy to communicate with. We had a wonderful time.

  • Awesome view, awesome apartment, awesome hosts. We travel a lot and this is one of the best places we have stayed. Liliana met us at the expressway exit for Taormina which was wonderful. We never would have found the house otherwise! We had trouble getting the car in and out of the narrow driveway but locals would probably find it easy. The apartment is spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The central heating was cosy in mid winter. The beds were firm as is common in Europe. The kitchen was very well equipped and there are two small supermarkets in town where we found everything we needed. The walk into town is pleasant and the uphill walk back to the house was shorter and easier than we expected. Everything in the house is new and of good quality. Everything works! We were occasionally aware of noise from the apartment below but it didn't bother us. A great place, highly recommended.

  • Great place! The view is stunning, the place very homey/comfortable, and the hosts attentive. Enjoyed it very much and would stay here again. If driving, take Francesco and Lilliana's advice and meet them along the way, much better than trying to find the place by yourself through the winding streets up Taormina. I really like the feel of the apartment, you can tell it was decorated to feel like home, and that it is cared for very well. Would definitely recommend to a friend, and I would also stay there again. Oh, one thing, I read previous reviews about the hill, I have to agree, it IS steep but knowing that we were mentally prepared, and so it was manageable. Also, the driveway is a bit small if you rented an automatic (read: larger) car. Thanks for a great stay!

  • Francesco and Liliana were great hosts. The flat was extremely clean and well maintained. You have access to a large fridge, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, and a fully functional kitchen. Although there is a bit of a climb up to the apartment from town, the views make it worthwhile. (The extra exercise also helps you justify that extra cannoli while in town!) Francesco and Liliana picked us up at the train station and did a great job explaining the layout of Taormina. We were a couple, but the apartment is HUGE! With it's three bedrooms and two baths, it would be a great location for a family.

  • Francesco is a warm and helpful host. The views are sensational from the house. It is a short walk to town and a short taxi ride back although a touch steep to walk up the hill. The house was very comfortable and quiet and spotless. It was great to spread out and use a washing machine and iron. The kitchen is well equipped to prepare a meal. A touch of home. Much appreciated. x

I am an electronic engineer and my wife Liliana is a researcher at the National Research Council. We love freeclimbing (sicily has lot of wonderful cliffs), runnig, windsurfing, skiing and hope that our little son Samu will follow us in these passions. We are happy to live in Taormina, one of the few place where you can wake up in the morning and then decide whether to go having windsurf at the see, or skiing in mountain etna, both reachable in few minutes
