The opportunity to live in a FLW designed home is utterly amazing. He theorized about the use of natural light and specific design concepts as they relate to how to the house is situated on the land parcel, but living it for even 24 hours, you "get it." The feeling of being outside when you are inside, the way the light dances through the windows at different times of the day...you won't believe the impact that this house will have on you.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
This house was amazing, and the perfect place to stay if you're looking for something that's an alternative to a lake house or bed and breakfast.
We enjoyed the funky decor, the privacy, the little dock (lots of fish jumping, so bring your fishing gear if you stay), and all the R&R. We had a wonderful time.
We had a fantastic stay at this house! Our small company had a retreat here with 6 people and the environment was perfect.
The house is extremely well kept, and the owners were very easy to get in touch with for the few questions we did have.
Overall an absolutely wonderful experience and worth every penny!
The Schwartz House is stunning and far exceeded our expectations!
Every detail in the house has been thought of and perfectly strikes the balance of historical preservation while still being a modern vacation retreat.
We knew the house was stocked for a relaxing getaway, but were pleasantly surprised that everything we had forgotten was already there. Our group had a perfect winter stay around the fire place in the library and would love to come back in the summer for some yard games and grilling.
Home is even more beautiful in person. My group was in awe--enjoying the communal space around a cozy winter fire and using vintage glassware and dishes to serve our meals. The neighborhood is sweet, safe and clean. The views from the living room and backyard are lovely. Also the beds were VERY comfortable beds, which I wasn't expecting in a vintage home! Michael was very responsive and helpful. Loved our stay, 100% recommend this place to everyone.
The house is even more beautiful than the photos and our hosts very helpful and responsive. Highly recommend!
This is an incredible home.
The owner has done a commendable job on maintaing the home in its original state. Everywhere are period accessories that enhance an ambiance that invokes serenity.
Enjoying a light snow fall while curled up with a 1937 vintage Life magazine in the softly lit living room was a memorable way to spend a january night.
The only difficulty I experienced was convincing my wife to leave at the end of our stay.
We have rented homes and stayed in B&Bs all over the world. This homes rates in the top 3, if not the best.
We will certainly be back.
