We often hear "Wow! That's an amazing view!" It is 50+ miles out and it makes the whole experience special. Hawks or barn owls may fly by your windows. It is a separate building from the main house. Unlike a studio set up, there's a separate bedroom & enough space to spread out. Local vineyards & wineries, golfing, hiking & the charming farming village of Fallbrook. Central to Temecula wineries, Oceanside beaches and San Diego. If from LA, see WHERE YOU'LL BE - SHOW MORE - then GETTING AROUND.

The space
Though on a high-end residential area, ours is a fairly simple farm house. Guests have told us they feel especially secure as our property is well-lit with lights that stay on all night. They are not overbearing as in flooding into your rooms but they are a comfort for those that are not accustomed to being in the boonies. . . . The automatic gate also provides a sense of safety.
Be aware, it's quiet here. It's definitely not conducive to parties or having guests over. Sound travels easily along these canyons & the neighbors have a quick trigger to complain about any noise.
More info on the space:
The steps are fairly steep so you'll need to be capable of navigating them. They are well lit at night.
LIVING ROOM: Nice Ethan Allen sofa, leather chair, Roku on TV.
KITCHEN: A nice full kitchen. New stainless range, new microwave , full-size fridge , coffee maker, double sink (no dishwasher). Nicely stocked with dishes, cookware, & utensils. Regular and decaf organic coffees. Snacks, a nice olive oil, assorted spices & a Brita water pitcher (filter changed regularly). We like to share fruits from our many trees as available. We are planting food producing trees and plants all the time so you never know what will be in season. . .
DINING AREA: Table and chairs indoors & on the balcony.
WORKSPACE: Secretary in dining room folds down to become a desk. Or we can provide a 6 foot table if you'd prefer to really spread out. You can put it in front of the windows to enjoy the view while you work. Note that our internet, while adequate for the usual surfing and for Zoom, is not super fast as we are on top of a mountain and options for this are not available to us.
DECK: A bench + table and chairs for outdoor dining. Super popular!
CLEANING PRODUCTS: We provide natural dish & cleaning products (e.g. Mrs. Meyers). Regular products are provided as well - Palmolive, Lysol etc.
BATHROOM: Shower (no tub), stocked with towels, washcloths, hair dryer,
natural & regular shampoo and conditioner and natural & regular body wash.
SLEEPING: Queen size bed in bedroom & Queen air mattress available for the living room. Nice linens, plenty of extra blankets, pillows etc. A large dresser with lots of drawers to unpack should you want to and a spacious closet with full length double mirrored doors.
One thing to note about the sleeping arrangements is that the bathroom is located off the bedroom. This means anyone needing the restroom needs to walk through the bedroom to access it which could be a privacy intrusion at night for those sleeping in the bedroom.
We have an owl box on site so seasonally (spring) you may hear an occasional "squawk" from them or the howl of some coyotes but other than that the area is quiet.
Washer and dryer (free) available to you, just let us know & we'll set you up.
Please note that due to the steep steps and height of the deck, we do not allow children under 8 at this time.

Where you’ll be

Fallbrook, California, United States

Our street really captures the character of Fallbrook. It is green, with a rich terrain and a nice ocean breeze. It's no wonder that the Luisenos Native Americans once lived in these hills. Ours was one of the first homes built on our street in the late 40's and has one of the best views on our hill. The guest house came 40 years later and has an even better view!

I am retired from 2 careers - a Corporate Sales manager in the hotel biz and then a career in finance. My passion is growing food. I am certified in Permaculture (natural farming) and am a Master Composter and former board member of CA Rare Fruit Growers. I head up the "Veggie ministry" at our church. I have the best husband on planet earth, Dave who is what's known as a "car guy." Two wonderful (grown) kids round out the clan. Happiness is having family and friends over for a good, healthy meal. We really enjoy travelling but are also content homebodies. You will understand why when you get here. The accommodations are nice but the view -- wow! We look forward to sharing it with you.
