Margaret & the fragrance of pink jasmine welcomed me up the well-lit path to the lovely garden suite. I feel like I picked an amazing time to come stay; everything was in full bloom! Peruvian lilies, watsonia, rhododendrons, and an abundance of roses adorned the land. Water lilies & croaking frogs also lent their charm to this sweet sanctuary.
The room(s) had great light, and lovely views of the flowers & orchard. Margaret made me feel right at home with a tasty selection of local goodies: her homemade granola, some of the best bread I've ever had, seasonal organic berries, a tea & coffee set up that contented me completely.
The bathroom was well stocked with anything I may have forgotten, nice light, and an eco-consciousness that I very much appreciated.
The bedroom had plenty of space, a very comfortable mattress & spread of pillows. I slept very peacefully, loved waking up to the luscious fog & the sound of the birds in the garden.
Everything was immaculate, and very serene. I could go on & on! It was the perfect place to stay, and I look forward to more time there in the future.
Many thanks Margaret!
Margaret was the most amazing host. And her cottage was the perfect place for our romantic get away.
We are already planning another trip to Mendocino to stay at her place again! Kerry and Rhonda
We were so pleased with Humingbird Haven and our host Margaret! She was very welcoming and easy to talk to. All of our needs and expectations were met.
Margaret's home and Humingbird Haven were in a nice quiet area, but still conveniently close to the town of Mendocino and nearby Ft. Bragg.
The yard and gardens were lovely, the coffee and food delicious.
We would be very happy to stay there again!
My stay at Margaret's Hummingbird Haven was wonderful and relaxing - exactly what I was looking for. She's a welcoming and thoughtful hostess, her place is very beautiful and serene, and the town of Mendocino is an absolutely wonderful place to get away. I had been very stressed out at work, so I wanted to take a couple days off as a breather. I'm very happy that I decided to stay with Margaret.
Her Hummingbird Haven is a separate private wing of her house, with its own bathroom and kitchenette. Margaret was very clear and communicative in the time leading up to my stay. On my arrival, she provided some delicious breakfast foods and fruit. It's a 5 minute drive from here to downtown Mendocino, so you can enjoy the restaurants and shops in town, while retreating to a cozy getaway anytime you want. Note that there is no TV in the room, but you're probably coming here to get away from the TV anyway!
I highly recommend staying with Margaret.
Margaret was a wonderful host plus her home was GORGEOUS. We loved staying there. There was a delicious breakfast of homemade granola (!!), fruit, and coffee provided every morning that we enjoyed on the porch with the hummingbirds and flowers. Great access into the town of Mendocino and every other place you could want to explore. So glad we found this gem!
This is the most beautiful, peaceful retreat I've had the pleasure of visiting! Margaret is an incredible hostess, very friendly, warm and welcoming, yet also gave us our space and privacy. There was no detail she didn't think of in stocking the suite, and she gave us a delicious breakfast. The suite itself is spacious, sunny, quiet and beautiful, in the most adorable town in a gorgeous part of the world. The best!! Thank you Margaret!
