As someone who spent 48 hours on Long Island and bought a completely abandoned and almost derelict house on the 46th hour; has been through 2 Category 4/5 hurricanes since then, I am the greatest advocate of Long Island. This place is a slice of heaven on earth. Having travelled the planet many times, it was here that finally grabbed me. I fell in love, and am still in love - the people, the island, the surrounding islands, think 1970's outer island Fiji, where life is just about living. Enjoy your stay and I hope you fall as much in love with this incredible place as I did.... despite the hard work!
