Blue Heron is a low-key ten acre resort on the South Shore of Hood Canal, less than 2 hours from Seattle (via Bremerton Ferry and 40 minute drive). An ideal retreat in any season or home base for exploring the Olympic Peninsula, Blue Heron has great amenities and ambiance for true comfort without the price tag of luxury accommodations. It's not the kind of place that you cherish for its style-- its not about that. It's about function and comfort in a gem of a location.
This awesome one-bedroom unit is front and center, with great views of the canal from the living room, and a stone patio. It has the best view, in fact. It is not ADA accessible, as there is a shared staircase at the entry. This one-bedroom can accommodate four, with privacy for two. Its great for families or close friends, as the bathroom is within the bedroom suite. It has a spacious bedroom with a Queen bed, chest of drawers, television and large closet. The living room has a Queen hide-a-bed, large t.v. and DVD player.
With its seasonal outdoor swimming pool, hot tub, vast beach with private dock, and newly rebuilt clubhouse with games, fitness center, and sauna, there is plenty to do on site.
Each of the twenty-two units at Blue Heron is owned as a timeshare with six owners, so availability varies. As a lifelong owner, this is my home away from home, and I hope to facilitate the rentals of these units for other owners so that more people can enjoy this amazing place, but for now, it's just mine on here.
All units include:
-A fireplace for burning presto logs (available at the office)
-Hair dryers towels, and body soap in the bathrooms
-Fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to make great meals
-Ample bedding for all beds including hide-a-beds
-Extra linens for guests
-new clubhouse with pool, ping pong, foosball, group kitchen, tv room, library/computer room, outdoor dining area, co-ed sauna, co-ed fitness room, & locker rooms
-seasonal outdoor swimming pool with lounge chairs and sun umbrellas (open Memorial Day-Labor Day)
-outdoor year-round hot tub
-private 400’ beach with fire rings, grills, and picnic tables
-safe pedestrian overpass to the beach
- two convenient laundry facilities ($2.00 in quarters per full load)
-outdoor picnic/ dining areas
-DVD rentals at office
-courts for tennis, pickleball, and basketball
-plenty of grassy areas for lawn sports
Fine and casual dining is available a short walk away (approx. 1/4 mi.) at award winning Alderbrook Resort, as well as the Robin Hood Restaurant and Pub, and Union Square Deli. You can also cook at home in the fully decked out kitchen. This retreat is perfect for fishing off the dock (or bring your boat!), collecting oysters and clams from the beach, and just holing up.
Wonderful hiking and natural sightseeing is available nearby at Lake Cushman and Staircase, as well as several other great spots along the canal and in the Olympic National Forest, which houses Washington's jaw-dropping temperate rain forests and some of the largest trees in the world.
Local casinos, nature trails, wineries, and world class SCUBA diving are in within a half hour's drive. There is plenty to explore on foot as well-- take the waterfront 1/2 mile walk to Harmony Hill for drop-in yoga and a turn in their giant outdoor labyrinth.

Seyta is an all around lovely person. She is friendly, honest and easy to talk to. My parents also own a condo at the Blue Heron. Seyta is like a part of my family when we are there. We spend our lazy days soaking in the hot tub, swimming in the pool, catching crab, collecting clams, muscles, and oysters, canoeing and chatting by the camp fire long into the night. My 4 year old is in heaven there! If you're feeling ambitious, you can walk over to the Robin Hood restaurant or Alderbrook resort for dinner and a drink. It is the perfect NW get-away!
Seyta is a dear friend of mine, and I am happy to report that either as a guest or host she will be communicative, respectful, responsible, and all-around excellent to deal with. I have spent many a day at her lovely condo on Hood Canal. It has a view that heals the soul and creates a great sense of relaxation. Highly recommended for vacation getaway!
Seyta and I have been business colleagues, worked together directly, and been friends for many years. She is awesome to travel and vacation with. She has been kind enough to host me at the Blue Heron over the years. It is a really restorative place, perfect to set you in the right direction whether you need an adventurous or relaxing spot. One of my favorite get-aways in the Pacific NW!!!
Seyta stayed at my home in New Orleans (her girlfriend was the one who booked my master bedroom for the two of them, so SHE got the fabulous review!) I am very happy to tell you that Seyta is a pure delight. A really cool lady. Super laid back, creative and warm. She is an incredibly talented men's clothing designer. If you were able to see her website you wouldn't need my review. You'd be able to see how responsible and talented she is. Anyone who can start a business like this and be so successful, barely needs a character reference. But aside from her talents you will find her just a charming and really down to earth person. I was completely enamored. You will be too. No B.S. One of those guests you hope you'll know for life. Sorry if this is gushing, but it is sincere.
