A modern floating villa located at Holmen island 18 minutes drive from Bergen. 200 sq.m with 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. You live on the fjord and wake up to the sound of the waves and a stunning view every morning.
You can enjoy fishing, kayaking, take a morning bath, eat breakfast on the terrace, have a barbecue and enjoy proximity to the sea. Our accommodation offers you a panoramic view of the sea.

The space
This is one out of a few floating homes in Norway. Floating homes are not very common yet, but it ́s becoming more popular. Mainly this is just like an ordinary home, but floating. You will experience some very small movements, but it ́s nothing dangerous. Water and sewage goes into a septic tank with purification plant, and the house is connected to water.

Other things to note
It`s floor heating in almost every room in the first floor. The floor heating has some hours delay. Be aware to not turn up the heat to much. Then you wake up during the night in a sauna. In the second floor it`s easy to adjust the temperature with the heat pump.

Holmen at Bjorøy is best known for a pretty famous restaurant, Cornelius seafood restaurant. The restaurant was the inspiration for the film The Menu. If you like to fish you can do fishing right outside. You can also enjoy kayaking, take a morning bath, eat breakfast on the terrace and enjoy proximity to the sea.
The floating house is surrounded by authentic fisherman cabins, (called "rorbu" in Norwegian) and some forrest on the small island.

I am 51 years old and I have been living in the beautiful city of Bergen for more than 25 years. I grew up at Geilo, a winter sports resort in the mountains between Oslo and Bergen. I am crazy about floating homes. I have traveled the world to get inspiration for this floating villa and for a new series of "Yacht House" houseboats. There is only one floating villa like this in Norway. I hope to see you on board!:)
