About this listing
It’s a very bright and sunny triple room at the rear end of the house. Sun will wake you up in the mornings and the evenings will sink in mellow glow of a sunset. Having 1 double and 1 single bed, the room is suitable for families or group of friends
This is a listing for room room #4 - room with a double and single bed.
Our grandmother’s (we used to call her “Mo”) house is located in a seaside resort town Palanga on the west coast of Lithuania, well known for its lively spirit, clean sea and pristine beaches.
The wooden house is over 100 years old and represents an authentic architectural style typical of Palanga. To better accomodate our guests, its 4 rooms (accomodating 2 to 4 people each) were recently renovated – taking care to retain the house spirit and historical context.
There is a shared shower and toilet inside, and another toilet in the summer house outside. The summer house also has fully equipped kitchen with gas stove, two tables and plenty of chairs which can be also taken outside.
The location is very central, just off the popular pedestrian street Basanaviciaus which is full of restaurants and bars, and close to the main Vytautas street. It’s within minutes of walking from the best white-sand beaches, local amenities & most sightseeing, including parks, museums and the local market (for more tips and suggestions, see our guidebook).
The place has good connections and is easily reached by both public and private transport. The main bus station is 10 min away by foot, the closest train station is Kretinga (10km) and Klaipėda (25 km), the main port city. Closest International airports: Palanga/Klaipėda PLQ 7km, Kaunas KUN 245km, Riga RIX 265km.
Despite central location, the place is quiet and peaceful.
There’s a beautiful garden, ladden with apple trees and tended flowers where you can relax and enjoy lazy afternoons. The summer kitchen is basically equipped, and there as well is a small grill. There is a shared combined toilet and shower in the house, as well as washer sink and another toilet outside.
If you arrive by car, the parking is free of charge.
Interaction with Guests
There is someone from the family to meet you and show around. Our family is rotating through the summer, and while the younger generation can speak several foreign languages, out parents only speak Lithuanian and Russian. But don't worry - they will be able to communicate the important points, and if needs be we can aways help them via phone!
From time to time, we love gathering in the garden and having a healthy lunch together with some friends or guests. House is traveler and animals friendly, comfortable and safe place to rest. We are looking forward to accommodating you throughout summer and beyond.

The place has good connections and is easily reached by both public and private transport. The main bus station is 20 min away by foot. In general Palanga is walkable by foot and there is no need for transport. It's also very bicycle-friendly - you can bring your own or rent on spot. If you want to explore spots outside the town, there are busses and very affordable taxis.
The closest train station is Kretinga (10km) and Klaipėda (25 km), the main port city of Lithuania. Closest International airports: Palanga/Klaipėda (PLQ) 7km, Kaunas (KUN) 245km, Riga (RIX) 265km.
Other Things to Note
Note that there is one toilet/shower inside the house shared by all guests. There is another sink outside, and second toilet in the kitchen house.
Grandma who used to own this house for decades, has recently passed away so it's the next generation that is looking after it. We live downstairs, while the four available rooms are all upstairs and have a separate entrance, plus a set of keys each. In summer (June-August), there always is someone from the family to meet you and show around.
The clean bedding and towels are provided.
You are free to come and go any time between check-in and check-out (both at 12 am), but common sense applies - there may be other people renting rooms and you are expected to respect their privacy, keeping the noise down from 10/11pm. Guests are allowed during the daytime.
As there is only one shower on the floor, please try to minimise your showering time during busiest morning hours as to allow other guests to be able to use it.
