Exceptional check-in experience

Recent guests gave the check-in process a 5-star rating.
Your stay at this nature-filled, open air romantic 2 bedroom, 2 bath treehouse villa puts you front and center in one of the best areas in St. Lucia. Here you can go to sleep and wake up to a 180 view of the amazing Pitons and sweeping Caribbean ocean. Located in a prime area, just up the road from the highly acclaimed Jade Mountain Resort and the Anse Chastanet beach, this villa has it all--location, comfort, romance, adventure, and nature.

The space
This fully furnished 2 bedroom villa is your home away from home. The unique and open architecture of this villa allows you to live in the tree line and enjoy nature to its fullest. Spend hours on the open deck, enjoying the sweeping views, feeding the birds and flycatchers, and dining on the expansive deck while enjoying amazing views of the Pitons.

This is the perfect villa to enjoy a special occasion such as an anniversary, birthday, or other special event, including a small wedding. If you have a larger group, you can rent the sister property next door, the Treehouse Hideaway Villa I, which sleeps 2 to 3. The two villas are separated by lush tropical gardens, ensuring that you'll have all the privacy that you need for your wonderful stay.

Special Note: We are also happy to announce that the Treehouse Hideaway Villas was selected in 2023 by the St. Lucia Tourism Ministry as a top finalist (one of three) in the first annual Gimies Awards for excellence in tourism practices in the category of property of the year, Collection De Petites (small accommodations).

This villa is a complete 2 bedroom, 2 bath, open architecture home on two floors. The first floor provides a one bedroom, one bath space with open air covered deck that provides sweeping views of the ocean and Pitons. Your first thought when you arrive on the deck is, "I better get out my camera, take a photo of this, and post it on social media!"

The second floor provides a cozy one bedroom suite and full bath. This floor features easy access to the lush gardens and refreshing plunge pool, a great spot to work on your tan and relax with a drink or catch up on your beach reading on the lounger. Outside you can also enjoy the special outdoor shower. It's really refreshing after a jam-packed day hiking the Gros Piton or exploring the Edmund rainforest.

On the top floor, the main bedroom features a cozy king size bed, air conditioner (if you need it), and plenty of closet space to store your clothes and belongings. The adjoining full bathroom features a large shower.

In the living area you'll find a couch (that makes into a comfortable bed for sleeping) and an entertainment area that provides a smart tv, bluetooth music system, and full wifi that works nicely throughout the property. The full featured kitchen provides plenty of counter space, full size fridge, gas oven/stove, microwave, and all the appliances you'll need including a juicer (to take advantage of all the local tropical fruits available), blender, toaster, coffee maker and grinder, and even a state of the art air fryer perfect for making fried plantains or other local dishes. If you have never used an air fryer and you like to cook, you'll be in for a real treat! The kitchen/living room now has a solar ac system that can be used during the daylight hours to cool the space.

For guests that would like to try our excellent local cuisine, our housekeeper and chef, Fabie, can provide a multi-course arrival meal for a small fee that will satisfy your hunger after a long journey to the island. You can also arrange for meals for other times during your stay.

The bottom floor space provides plenty of privacy for a second set of guests (friends, relatives, etc.). Here you'll find a queen size bed, a full bath, and a little working area for making coffee and warming up meals with the included induction burner. The space also provides a small fridge. The downstairs suite also provides an ac unit for your comfort.

We've converted our energy usage from the traditional grid-tied electrical system to a complete solar system with a set of arrays to power both of our Treehouse villas. We were one of the first in our area to incorporate solar energy and we're looking forward to bringing other green energy and environmental friendly practices to the island.

The Treehouse Villa Experiences
Our two villas are standalone villas, each with their own private plunge pool, unique views, lush gardens, and a great staff if you would like to use them. In this respect we operate like a small full-service guesthouse. You can rent the villa and have as much privacy as you'd like and treat the villa like your typical rental. Or you can take advantage of our very experienced staff and enjoy services such as massage, transportation (private, local drivers. water taxis), delicious meals (lunch and dinner), help with touring in the area, and help in arranging local resources (everything from boat trips to planning photo events).

Notes: Treehouse I vs. Treehouse II
We operate two treehouse villas in the area: Treehouse I and II. The Treehouse I villa is a little smaller than Treehouse II. It's designed for a single traveler, a couple, or a couple and a guest. The Treehouse II villa is a little larger with a top and bottom floor. It's a perfect villa for a couple or two couples, sharing a special time together. The kitchen in Treehouse II is a bit larger and features more working space and appliances. Each Treehouse comes with its own private plunge pool and the villas are separated by very lush gardens ensuring that there is maximum privacy between the villas. Both villas can be rented together to support a group of 6+, for a special stay with good friends and family. If you'd like to rent both villas, ask us about a discount! The listings for the two Treehouses can be found on Airbnb.

Guest access
The Treehouse II villa is a standalone home with private garden and personal plunge pool, all designed for guests of the Treehouse Hideaway Villa II. Nothing in this space is shared.

The villa grounds also provide a barbecue where you can grill everything from local caught fish to other local delights.

We are located in the Anse Chastanet foothills near the Anse Chastanet and Jade Mounatin Resorts (the area is hilly but you can walk to the beach at the resort). It can get hot in the afternoon for walking, so keep that in mind. Our neighborhood is generally quiet and secure (especially in the evenings) but we are located in a neighborhood with other villas around.  These villas do also host guests. So you may hear sounds of other guests in the area. From time to time, other villa owners may be doing maintenance work on their properties—trimming trees, landscaping, maintaining a deck, etc. and thus you could hear noises during the day. If you have any concerns, please ask us in advance of your stay. Our area does have a rural feel to the neighborhood, however, the main public road that passes by our villas does lead to the Anse Chastanet Resort and you may hear road noises as guests and workers travel to the resort. Most of the traffic occurs during the daytime hours but the resort can get some traffic at night.

Other things to note
The villa comes with a complete staff that is available to make sure that you can have the best possible experience in the area. Our manager, Damian, is well known in the area and he can help you during your stay at the Treehouse so that you can really enjoy the local area.

Damian can also help you plan your trip* and help you with booking any of the popular activities, such as hiking the Gros Piton, climbing the Petit Piton (for real adventure seekers), hiking the popular Tet Paul Trail, snorkeling and diving adventures in the very nearby reef, soaking in the mud baths and hot springs in Soufriere, exploring the local area waterfalls, hiking and exploring in the Edmund Rainforest (highly recommended), enjoying the lush botanical gardens at Diamond, sunset sailing around the Pitons, visiting unique local area artists (we can arrange this for you), dinning at the top local area restaurants, checking out the top resorts in the area, hanging out at the pristine local beaches, ziplining adventures, and much more.

Laundry Services: The villa does have a washer/dryer located in our staff work area as we've indicated on the listing. The machines are primarily used for our housekeeping services. If you'd like to have laundry done, our housekeeper, Fabie, can provide a laundry service for a small fee during your stay at the villa. The machines are not setup for guests to use directly.

Our housekeeper/chef Fabie is available to cook full course meals (dinner and lunch) for our guests for a modest fee. This is a great way to try out the local cuisine that our area is known for. Our guests often comment that having a meal prepared by Fabie is one of their best dining experiences while visiting St. Lucia.

For Families: Our Treehouse 2 Villa does completely close off with screens on the doors and the windows. This makes the inside environment safe if you have a family with young children. The outside environment including the deck, pool area, and grounds are such that you will need to closely watch young children, especially if they are of the age where they like to crawl, move around a lot, etc. The deck is open to the elements and you will need to watch young children when they are on the deck.

Our two eco-villas are focused on being as environmentally friendly and as "green" as possible. Our pools are fully operated by a dedicated solar system, are villas are powered by array of solar panels we've recently incorporated, we collect as much rain water as possible for our guest's and garden needs, and we compost as much as possible to feed our lush gardens.

The Treehouse 2 Villa provides 3 ac units for our guest's comfort. The upstairs master bedroom and the downstairs bedroom suite each have their own ac unit that guests can operate as needed to help cool the sleeping spaces. When running these units, it's important to close all of the doors and openings and only run the units when you are present in the villa. That way the units can operate at their best to cool the bedroom spaces. Each bedroom provides a thermostat control that you can use to either run the AC in "cool" mode" or a "dry" mode, which allows you to quickly lower the humidity in the bedrooms.
In addition to the bedroom ac units, we now provide an off-grid solar ac unit in the living room/kitchen. This unit can operate during the day only when the sun is out to cool the space. To operate the unit, you use the provided ac remote, which allows you to either cool the space or operate the unit in "dry" mode as a dehumidifier. Because the living room opens up to the viewing deck and the dining area, it's very important to keep the double doors closed when operating the ac. Otherwise, all of the cool air will escape. If you are leaving the villa for a few hours during the day to do activities or to use the pool, you can benefit by closing the living room doors and letting the solar ac unit run in either "cool"mode or "dry" mode.

Staying Comfortable
The Caribbean sun can really warm things up during the day as the sun often gets quite intense. Temperatures in our area range from the mid 70s to the upper 80s, with occasionally temperatures rising to the low 90s. What often varies is the humidity. For example, after a sudden rainstorm, the humidity can really go up and running the ac in the "dry" mode can really help to dry the air and lower the humidity. During the evening, we often get good breezes and temperatures often cool down such that having the doors open can make the indoor areas quite pleasant. We often find that during the day, running the ac in the living area and the fans can make the space comfortable. After the sun sets, having the main living room doors open (with the scree doors closed) can really help moving around from the kitchen/living room to the dining area and the natural breezes in the area can really make the environment pleasant.

The Treehouse is especially designed to be an "open architecture" type villa to take in the views, similar to what you would find at nearby Jade Mountain or Ladera, But the two sets of double doors that lead out to the deck can easily be closed off so that you can have the best of both worlds.

Where you’ll be

Soufriere, St. Lucia

My wife and I have been coming to St Lucia for over a decade. We have stayed in locations all over the island but this is always the area we come back to over and over again. It's like home to us. The scenery, the reef, the people, the adventures, bring us back again and again. That's why we purchased the Treehouse villas when they became available.

This villa is located in a neighborhood of multi million dollar villas all featuring amazing views of the Pitons and the inviting Caribbean ocean. The area is rural as it is located just above town but there are various villas around (where are located in a neighborhood).

The best feature is that you can walk right to the beach. Anse Chasatanet and Anse Mamin. But do keep in mind that the area is hilly. (St. Lucia is a very mountainous country!) From the villa, you can also walk to Soufriere town, which is about 1.5 miles away. The walk into town is not as easy as it involves walking the curvy Anse Chastanet Road and than walking down a steep hill into town. During the afternoon, it can get hot walking in the area--please don't underestimate the intensity of the Caribbean sun!

The popular Hummingbird local beach near town is also a great location for sunning, swimming, and snorkeling (the three important "s" activities for your vacation). But keep in mind that the terrain is hilly and the walking (if you are not used to it) can be a little strenuous.

There is some hiking you can do in the neighborhood, and the area is fairy quiet and peaceful. We always feel really safe here. It's a good area to meet other travelers and the staff who work in the villas nearby are always around to help or provide valuable local resources and travel tips if you are in need of anything.

For walking and hiking in our area (and for St. Lucia in general) it's important to keep in mind that the island is very mountainous, roads aren't in the best of conditions, and there are hills everywhere. The hilly areas make the views especially nice but if you have walking challenges it's important to keep in mind the terrain that we have on island. You'll find these conditions every where surrounding the Soufriere area. You might find that you can't walk to all of the locations that you might want to (because of distances or hills) but we do have excellent drivers that can pick you up or drop you off.

The road that comes into our neighborhood is called the Anse Chastanet Rd. and this is the same road that travels to the Anse Chastanet/Jade Mountain Resort. This road does get traffic with guests and staff going to and coming from the resort

Lives in Scottsdale, Arizona
My wife and I currently live in Scottsdale, AZ and Peaks Island, ME (Portland Maine area). We also spend quite a bit of time each year in the Caribbean (St. Lucia, WI) as we are in the process of building a beautiful home there, right along the ocean. You can follow along the progress on Instagram (@villadesartes). We’ve traveled all over the world and love to meet and host other fellow travelers. We also now operate the popular Treehouse Hideaway Villas located in Soufriere, St Lucia. We purchased these villas at the end of 2018 after spending many years as a frequent guest of these villas. The staff is like our family and we are excited about working with the team to further develop the villas into one of the top properties for adventure travelers to the area. Our Scottsdale Guesthouse We love to rent out our unique Scottsdale guesthouse (Casa des Artes), which you can find on Instagram (@casadesartes). We now make the Scottsdale guesthouse available all throughout the year with the help of our fabulous co-host, Ginna. My wife and I are artists and we live and work in Arizona in the fall/winter/spring. For many years I worked as a professional glassblower. After retiring from that work a few years ago, I took up woodworking and I now make custom furniture and all kinds of art pieces out of wood. Our Scottsdale guesthouse features some of my work as well as lots of work from a number of our artists friends. We try to give our guests the experience of being able to stay in a working gallery. We want all of our guests to feel inspired by staying in the unique space. We're avid art collectors and we like to cook and entertain a lot. We both have traveled the globe in past years while running publishing/high tech businesses but that seems like ages ago ;) We really enjoy meeting new people and sharing our unique guesthouse with fellow travelers. For our hosting style we like to take care of our guests and make sure they have a good time while staying at our guesthouse. We use AirBnB when we travel and we like to ensure that our guests are just as happy with our guesthouse as we are with properties that we stay in and go back to. We love to show our guests around (if they are interested) and to make sure they always have what they need. We're really lucky to live in some unique locations and we love to share our experiences with others.
