This is one of my best airbnb experiences. Juan Carlos' home is truly beautiful. Set against the magnificent Andean mountains, we were greeted by the sight of fresh flowers, the sound of a bubbling stream, and welcomed by his 3 friendly dogs. Our room was beautifully decorated and was well furnished with a kitchen, 3 beds, 2 sofas and a toilet.
Juan Carlos immediately made us feel at home and gave us suggestions about what to do, where to go and what to eat around the area. He made reservations for us at the restaurants and wrote down a list of dishes we could order there. All his suggestions were spot on! The food was amazing and we were never disappointed.
He also drove us to the bus station and showed us how to get to Ollantaytambo from there. Even after we had checked out, he made sure that we had reached our destination safely. His family made us feel so welcomed. I would strongly recommend anyone to stay there for a couple of nights, especially if you're returning from Machu Picchu. It is a fantastic retreat away from the dusty towns.
My family and I travelled to Cusco and the Sacred Valley and agree that the bungalows were the best place that we stayed. The bedrooms and living room were clean and tastefully decorated with Andean designs and colors. There were even flowers from the garden in each room! The beds and linens were also incredibly comfortable. Unlike our hotel in Aguas Calientes, the bungalows had hot showers, functioning wifi and satellite tv. The grounds are beautiful with a running stream, trees and flowers that make the natural mountainous landscape even more amazing. The Property is about a 20 minute walk to Urubamba or a short moto -taxi ride away(about 8 soles/$3).
Juan Carlos is a wonderful host! He helped us coordinate transportation from Ollantaytambo and also provided suggestions for dinner in the area. A nice breakfast with organic jams and natural juice was also (website hidden) mother and sisters were both sick and Juan Carlos recommended a clinic and also provided them with natural remedies to ease altitude sickness.
We wish we had been able to spend more time at the bungalows and less time in Aguas Calientes. I highly recommend staying here to anyone traveling to the Sacred Valley.
Wow! What a wonderful apartment - beautifully decorated in rich warm colours, clean and comfortable and Juan was a great host.
We arrived in the dark and I began to worry as we headed down a small muddy, dirt track but Juan was at the gate to greet us and we walked into the most beautifully landscaped garden with a gently babbling water feature and colourful flowers. The cottage was build in a traditional style and beautifully furnished with fresh flowers, fruits and a warm drink waiting for us.
The atmosphere was tranquil and relaxing (I loved the lack of wifi - no distractions!) - I only wish we had longer to stay and enjoy it!
Breakfast was a treat with warm breads, homemade jams, meats, cheeses and olives - and great coffee and fresh juice.
Juan was helpful but not intrusive. He has good local knowledge and connections and is happy to book tours or taxis if needed.
I'd really recommend this B&B!
We loved our relaxing three night stay in Juan Carlos bungalows which we used as a convenient base for visiting Machu Picchu and the sacred valley. The bungalows were beautiful and well equipped in a peaceful and scenic garden with friendly pets. Juan Carlos was an amazing host who was so helpful, friendly, and a true gentleman who went out of his way to ensure we had a great time. Breakfasts were really great each day and it was a pleasant 15 minute walk (plenty of cheap mototaxis if you prefer) into town where there are loads of great restaurants. We highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in the sacred valley, you will not be disappointed.
Juan Carlos and Laura are wonderful hosts. We absolutely loved our stay here. It was relaxing and rejuvenating-- just what we needed between tours in Cusco and Machu Picchu! Juan Carlos was always available to answer our questions (restaurant recommendations, taxi suggestions, etc), and made us feel completely at home. The bungalows are charming, and the gardens are absolutely tranquil. This place is a gem, as are the lovely people who own it.
The stay at the bungalows was a great experience, the place is charming and cozy. I stayed there and then made my family stayed during their visit to Peru. They were delighted by Juan Carlos' hospitality as well. Totally recommendable.
Juan Carlos is a gracious host and goes out of his way to help his guests feel at home. Even though we arrived and left at all hours of the day and night Juan Carlos made an effort to make sure we were always taking car of while in the Sacred Valley. I'd highly recommend staying here for anyone visiting the Cusco area who wants to be within easy distance of Machu Pichu. The grounds are lovely and in the future we will make sure to plan our trip details around Juan Carlos' advice.

About the Host, Juan Carlos
