This is the perfect place away to relax and enjoy upstate NY. Minutes away from lots of area Cooperstown attractions and Hartwick/SUNY Oneonta Campuses. Some of our favorite spots are Ommegang Brewery, Fly Creek Cider Mill, Baseball Hall of Fame, Farmer's Museum, Fenimore House, and lots and lots of nature exploration.
We built this home in 2006 together while we were dating (quite the teambuilding experience) and it proved to be an awesome family adventure! We are now married with a 1+ year old and we rent the home in the summer to baseball families visiting the area and decided to open it up to Fall-Winter guests on airbnb as well. We are new to this site, so feel free to connect with us for reviews from other rental sites.
Creekside is a Cape Cod style home overlooking a scenic pond. You can enjoy picnics down by the stream that runs through the property tucked down a lovely little path. It is a three bedroom, two bath home with a cathedral ceiling in the living / dining area and lots of open concept feel. Both the back and front of the home have decks for outside enjoyment with a grill in the back to cook-out. There is a separate apartment on the lower level where our family hosts currently reside.
We LOVE this home - a favorite day staying at Creekside includes a fall morning hike, a Saturday morning trip to the Farmer's Market in Coop to get food for dinner, a walk down Cooperstown's quaint little mainstreet while grabbing a cup of coffee at Stagecoach cafe, a lunch stop for a tasting and some euro-style bar food at Ommegang and a trip back to the house to relax and chill on the deck while we cook dinner together and enjoy the stars. It's a special place to be.
We built this home one summer while we lived in a tent! It's a special place for family to gather and memories to be made. You are surrounded by nature and there are moments when it is truly breathtaking.

My family and I (5 adults and 1 21-mo. old) had a great weekend getaway at Creekside. It's a short drive from the Baseball Hall of Fame, Farmer's Museum, and Ommegang Brewery (all good places to go!). There were a few other points of interest we would have liked to check out, but apparently a number of places don't open until April 1st. The house itself is great, plenty of space, and child-friendly. The kitchen is stocked with plenty of silverware/plates/cups and pots/pans, so we had a few relaxing meals in. Our host, Gary, was very gracious, and though he lives downstairs we didn't see or hear him except when arriving and departing. Hopefully we weren't too loud for him. :) Overall, it was a great place to stay - we'd like to go back when the weather is warmer, and when everything is open!
What a beautiful place to stay! Amanda and Doug were so helpful and prompt with their responses that when we arrived, I was completely prepared for the place.
It's a bit rural but the property surrounding it was beautiful. We went during the winter but I definitely want to return in the summer. Cooperstown is a really neat town and there is a lot to do in the surrounding area.
Things we did:
- The Ommegang brewery is about 20 minutes away. It's a great place to go for a walk, get a brewery tour and have a meal. I would suggest calling ahead to book a tour. It was really busy when we got there Saturday afternoon.
- Snow tubing! it's at the Glimmerglass state park about 20 minutes away. it's only $5 and it's a great way to get some exercise and enjoy the outdoors. The rest of the park looked great and would be a fabulous place to hike during the summer.
- explored the town: It was really quiet. Apparently a few stores shut down in the winter because it's so slow there but there were some neat stores and the Baseball Hall of Fame and Farmer's museum were open and are apparently good places to go.
There is one large master bedroom, a smaller room with a queen and a third bedroom with two twins. There is also an air mattress that was apparently really comfy and couches that experienced many naps!
The kitchen is well stocked for cooking (random spices and some coffee but you'll have to bring the majority of your stuff)
Amanda's grandparents live in an apartment in the house. We barely saw or heard from them though besides their welcome at the beginning!
They also have beautiful balconies and a porch that would have been perfect to have drinks on... if there wasn't so much snow and the freezing cold...
Overall it was a great trip that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a weekend away or a home away from home during the baseball season!
Though we had a little trouble tracking the house down, once we got there we immediately fell in love with the house. It was the perfect place for a quick getaway from the city and we had wonderful hosts! Amanda is always prompt with responses and her grandfather is such a sweetheart :)
We stayed at Creekside with our children on a weekend away from the city. It was a great escape. The house has everything you will need and Cooperstown is a lovely place to explore.
Our hosts showed us around when we arrived and then they were available if we needed anything throughout our stay.
We even managed to fish in the pond which our boys really enjoyed..even in the freezing cold.
I highly recommend staying here. You won't be disappointed.
Creekside was an amazing place to stay! The property and surrounding area was stunning and the house itself was just beautiful. It was very peaceful and quiet, a lovely place for a weekend getaway! Amanda and Doug were fantastic hosts and were very eager to answer any questions as well as to provide us with recommendations of things to do and see in the area. The on-site hosts were very friendly and welcoming and eager to ensure we had a wonderful stay!
I would highly recommend a stay at Creekside!
My family had a wonderful stay at Creekside! Amanda was incredibly helping us in preparing for our trip and once we arrived the house was perfectly clean. The house was comfortable and perfect for my family. We will be back!
I would highly recommend Fallfoliage@creekside. The house was lovely, very well appointed and in a beautiful country setting. It's a few kms out of Cooperstown if youre there to see the Hall of Fame, but well worth the small extra distance. We were greeted at the door by Amanda's relatives who showed us around and were readily available if we found we needed anything (which we didn't - everything is there already). Altogether a great experience.
