Nestled at the base of the Old Mission Peninsula between the two bays, this home is in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by woods, grass and lush gardens. You'll find my home to be the perfect peaceful retreat, yet close to everything TC has to offer.
This contemporary home offers a private entrance and hallway leading to two large bedrooms with queen size beds and a private bath. The backyard features a deck with lush gardens and woods surrounding. West Bay is within view, and provides cooling breezes to keep you comfortable.
The setting seems "away from it all," yet it's less than 2 miles from Traverse City. Close by are both bays with beaches, multiple wineries (one within walking distance), downtown TC and the TART Trail system.
I am open to a guest for a single night during the week, but would prefer a minimum two night booking on the weekend.
I am very flexible and often offer the use of the kitchen and living room. The washer and dryer are available if needed.
It's so quiet and the bay moderates the temperature all year round.
Kathleen's listing was exactly as promised. The room was large, comfortable, well-appointed and had an awesome bed. Being winter in northern Michigan, she provided an additional heater for the room, and that was very useful. The room, bath and hallway were all very neat and clean, access into the house was easy and convenient, and parking was excellent. Kathleen inquired about our breakfast desires, and a light continental breakfast was perfect. She's a great conversationalist and really knows the TC area. We'll stay with her again in the future.
I was pleasantly surprised by how professional and friendly Kathleen was on my visit. My room and bath were spotless. Her home is cozy and warm. Her hospitality style is casual and friendly; yet, her attention to detail is first rate. She is very knowledgeable about the area. She has great suggestions for seeing the area and where to eat. I hope to return soon .
Kathleen was a wonderful host! She was so friendly and welcoming, and her home is lovely. I visited with three friends so we occupied both rooms. Both were comfortable! We definitely would stay here again. She provided an excellent breakfast in the morning and was willing to connect us with a friend to provide us a skiing lesson. Unfortunately our schedules didn't align, but it was great to have that as an option. I highly recommend staying with Kathleen!
We loved the location- a quiet residential neighborhood just minutes from town on a hill overlooking the water (and less than 15 minutes drive from the Jolly Pumpkin restaurant)
Kathleen was a great host and made us a great breakfasts (even kept our five year old son entertained while cooking)
The two rooms are spacious, cozy and private.
Kathleen is a local who is knowledgeable about the area.
Loved the location! Better still loved the warmth from Kathy! Amazing breakfast and thanks for the lovely little touches:)
Kathleen was a awesome host. She made us feel welcome and even cooked breakfast. If we come back to TC, we'll definitely stay at her place again.
Pros: private entrance to the cute and cozy room and beautiful house

If you are looking for a relaxing, tranquil place, stay here! Kathy could not be a better host. My only request is that we stay longer next time because there is so much to see and experience one weekend was not enough. My fiance and I will definitely be scheduling more weekends here. Kathy went above our expectations and the scrambled eggs Sunday morning were awesome! Thanks again Kathy. Hope to see you soon!
I'm an active person, but am happy puttering around my house as well. I enjoy meeting new people, and feel that I'm relatively open minded. As a host, you'll find me engaging, but sensitive to the need for privacy. I'm an avid skate skier in the winter, and mountain biker the rest of the year. I'm happy to be a trail or tour guide to any who's interested. I've lived in Traverse City since I was a child and know a whole lot about what there is to do and see here. Looking forward to meeting you and helping you to have an enjoyable stay. My life motto is: Seek first to understand, and then to be understood.
