  • This stay was the highlight of a six week trip. The chalet is perfectly situated for access to the train , the village, the slopes or an easy hike. The sound of the rushing stream day and night added to the restful feeling of suspending the day-to-day and luxuriating in a cozy intimate Swiss mountain home. I'll be back, on my next special occaison!

  • We enjoyed our stay in Murren and the Chalet Snowbird so much, we've vowed to return. Beat and Nancy are marvelous hosts and their property manager, Elisa, was a joy as well. The Chalet has almost all the comforts of home. We even "dined" in a couple of nights and just stared at the magnificent view (and saved a few SF) of the Eiger, the Monch and the Jungfrau. We had the pleasure of meeting Beat in person and found him to be a most gracious and charming gentleman. My only tip to weary travelers who arrive late at night (as we did after some air travel snarls) is to make sure you take note of the directions to the chalet. It's a little tough to find in the dark; somehow we managed, with a little luck from the moon and the stars, literally! Back at work in the US now, but dreaming of hiking the lovely Alps above Murren and collapsing in our cozy chalet at night!

  • The view from the chalet was definitely incredible! There is a little balcony beside the entrance where you can admire the beauty of the three majestic peaks - Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau at your own leisure and comfort. The chalet was also very spacious for two people and it was exciting to check out our bedroom on the 2nd storey :) loved the wood finishes of the chalet, which gave a rustic and warm feeling. Having a kitchen was also extremely convenient, given the high costs of eating out in Switzerland. One thing to note about the kitchen - the design of the area around the sink was not so well thought-out as spilt water tended to drain towards the floor rather than the sink. There was a minor hiccup during our check in as we got to Murren rather late. We mistook another chalet for the one we booked and only realized our mistake after we compared what we saw to the pictures posted on airbnb. Take note that this chalet says Bear Studio at its front door! Luckily Nancy was really patient and helpful in directing us to the right place after I made an 'SOS' call to her. Other thing to note: there is a flight of steps which you will need to negotiate to get to the chalet. The footpath to the chalet is also
all gravel. This is something you will need to prepare for if you have lots of luggage. Consider leaving some non essentials in the lockers found in lower level wooden cabin (lovely cedar wood aroma) to lighten your load!

  • Comfortable, cosy and well equipped chalet. We stayed in Bear Studio of Chalet Snowbird. Excellent view of the Jungfrau. A short walk from the train station in murren, with quite a few steps up to the chalet, but once there, it was worth it!
The kitchen is very well stocked, bed is comfortable and generally just a lovely place for a holiday. Highly recommended!

  • Nancy and Beat's chalet delivers! Charming, private, beautifully appointed, clean and modern, and perfectly situated close to town with the best view in Murren. You won't want to leave in the morning but will be happy to return at night to your quiet little place in the heart of the Alps. The bathroom is spacious, the loft is cozy, and there is plenty of room for 2 to 4 people to fit comfortably (and the wifi connection is fast!). Hiking is literally steps from the front door, and the town shops, restaurants, and public sports facility (with indoor pool and spa) are a 5 to 10 minute minute walk. The balcony stares directly at the faces of Eiger, Monk, and Jungfrau - the landmark peaks in Murren. Highly recommend and would stay there again if lucky enough to return to Murren! Thank you Nancy & Beat!

  • We stayed at the Snowbird Studio with loft for six nights in summer... and just can't say that we cannot imagine a better place to stay in the Alps... nicely managed, incredible views, well equiped, comfortable... Mürren is a cozy car free town, but with an easy access via Lauterbrunnen (nothing to do with Interlaken or other bigger towns). The apartment is really nice, and makes you feel like living in a mountain house, but with the highest comfort... if you are planning to visit this part of Switzerland, don't think it twice!

  • This was the most beautiful place to stay. I couldn't have asked for anything better and I would highly recommend this place. The property owners assistant was very nice and the accommodations were excellent.

  • We stayed in the Bear Studio Loft in late June/early July 2013. What a fantastic place! The location is second to none, a little chalet nestled on alpine flower strewn hill near a stream, with the most fantastic views of the north face of Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau. We would spend a leisurely afternoon on the balcony with wine and cheese just watching the clouds drift across those mountains. The chalet is located just far enough out of town that you felt the privacy and quiet, but close enough that its an easy walk to the train station (and we did it lugging backpacks, so that was a big plus!) and to restaurants and the supermarket.

The chalet itself was lovely and cosy, and had the gorgeous smell of cedar. The underfloor heating worked a treat, and the bathroom was a good size.

While we never met Nancy and Beat, they were great at answering our emails and providing us with all the information we needed, and their property manager, Elisa, was very helpful and friendly.

Absolutely loved our stay at Chalet Snowbird (arguably the best place we stayed in our seven week trip through Europe) and wouldn't hesitate to return or to recommend it to anyone thinking of staying in the Murren area!
