The Chalet Snowbird studio was perfect for our family of 4. It is very nicely designed, well equipped, and clean. The view from the chalet is incredible. It had everything we needed. My 2 teens loved the loft and the wi-fi. The hosts were friendly and made us feel very welcome and helped us find good hikes to take. There is a grocery store in town so we could buy food to cook. I'd highly recommend these unit and the hosts -- and Murren is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Thanks for a great stay, Nancy and Beat!
Nancy and Beat were terrific hosts. The chalet is beautiful and the location simply amazing; Mürren is stunning in person. Great views, well appointed, clean, and comfortable. Nancy was warm and had great ideas for hikes and adventures. She always made sure we felt welcome. Thanks Nancy & Beat!! We hope to be back.
The host was very easy to work with and was very helpful and friendly and provided good information for our arrival. In fact the hosts were staying in the main building to which our smaller apartment adjoined. The apartment was as described. It was new, clean and in excellent condition. The location is amazingly beautiful and this was our favorite location of all the places we visited on our trip to Europe. The apartment was a bit small for four adults but worked fine - the wall bed is there for a reason as there is not a lot of room when it is down. We only have one complaint (which most renters will never experience in their stay here) but for us was a big disappointment. It was unusually hot during our stay (perhaps record heat - like 85 F) in Murren and the upper level of the apartment has NO means of ventilation other than the stairway between the levels. There are two windows on the upper level but they don't open. It was ridiculously hot upstairs each of the three nights where our two adult children had to try to sleep. The owners were very apologetic and even went to Interlaken to try to get a fan for us (they were all sold out). They even opened a door between our apartment and their residence to try to improve the ventilation (unfortunately nothing we did seemed to help to cool the upper level - the main level cooled down just fine in the evening via the breeze through the open windows). The hosts tried to be as accommodating as possible, however, half of our group had three very uncomfortable nights. So, while we loved Murren, we were disappointed that our most expensive lodging while in Europe (Airbnb all the way - love it!) also provided the most uncomfortable sleeping conditions for two of our company. (I would rate the overall experience as 5 stars but for the heat/ventilation issue which drops it to 3 stars.) That said, I would recommend this apartment/hosts to others as the extreme heat was apparently very unusual and the hosts expressed the desire/plan to work on a solution to improve the ventilation of the upper level.
Great location, wonderful view of the Alps, would highly suggest it. The Coop grocery store is not far, and similarly priced to Bern.
We had such a great four-night stay in the Chalet Snowbird Studio! We arrived in Murren late at night, and Nancy was kind enough to provide detailed instructions so that we could easily find the place. In the morning, we woke up to the most incredible view of the mountains! We loved the studio- it was clean, spacious, and very well-appointed. The kitchen is advertised as small, but we were pleasantly surprised to find that it was well-stocked with quality cookware- everything we needed to cook our meals (there was a very reasonably priced grocery store nearby). And we loved Murren- it's a very cute town and a great home base for stunningly beautiful hikes. It was hard to leave Murren and this studio, but we hope to visit again soon!
Listing was accurate. Location and view was excellent. Room was homie and comfortable. I would recommend this location summer or winter. Thank you Nancy!
The location was dramatically beautiful. The facilities were clean and comfortable - just what one would hope a chalet would be. Without question we will stay there again if we have opportunity.
Climbing the stairs to the chalet is challenging but well worth the effort.
Nancy was very responsive both before our visit and the one time we needed to contact her while there. The couple who watch the chalet for her went out of their way to be helpful.

About the Host, Nancy And Beat
My Swiss born (Murren!) Olympic skier husband, Beat, and I live in Salt Lake City where I am a Travel Consultant and he is a Ski Area Planner. We have 2 children. He grew up in Murren's 4* Hotel Eiger. At his parent's death, he inherited 2 superb view building lots on the north edge of the Village of Murren. During 2011 and 2012 he has built two chalets, now available for rent. We are avid skiers/hikers. Our family cherishes the extraordinary scenery and village atmosphere of Murren. We're excited to introduce/share it with other skiers/hikers/seekers of Peace, harmony and clean air! Nancy von Allmen
