This 7-acre island is exclusively yours—no neighbors, no crowds, just total privacy and nature at its best. Set on Whitins Reservoir, one of the cleanest and clearest lakes in Massachusetts, Dodd Island offers a once-in-a-lifetime experience for couples, families, and small groups looking to truly disconnect and recharge.

🏠 Main Cabin:
Glassed-in porch with futon
Open central living/dining/kitchen area with futon
Low sleeping loft (perfect for kids)
Small bathroom with shower and sink
🚿 Outdoor Shower
No flush toilet—you’ll use a classic double-seater outhouse (better for the environment!)
Fire pit just outside for stargazing & s’mores
🍳 Kitchen Amenities:
Fridge/freezer, blender, toaster, dishes, utensils, pots/pans
Electric Stove
Outdoor cooking: 2-burner propane stove + propane grill
🛏️ Sleeper Cabin:
Cozy sleeping space with queen bed
Large front deck right at the water’s edge
Guests must bring their own linens and towels
💧Water & Essentials:
Island water is not for drinking
Please prepare appropriately and bring your own drinking water

Island is approx. 400 feet from shore
A 12-foot aluminum rowboat is included to transport you and your gear
You also get 1 canoe and 2 kayaks to explore the lake

Guest access
When you rent the island.. it's your very own private island for the duration of your stay.
A couple important things to know before you rent.
Check In: 4PM Check Out: 10:00 PM
(we thank you in advance for respecting the check in/check out times so that our cleaning crew can do their job properly)
Parking:
There is a private designated lot at the top of the driveway for island renters.
Getting to the Dock:
Our access to the island runs through one of our other rental properties, The Lake House. We ask that you please be respectful of the renters in the Lake House when you are unloading and making your way to the island. Keep all pets on leash and curious kiddos with you at all times. This access has been working well so far and we hope to continue to be able to offer this cool island for rent separate from the Lake House with your help.
From the parking lot just follow the driveway that runs along the side of the house which leads to the dock.
To minimize the traffic down the driveway, we ask that you load all your gear into one vehicle to unload at the dock.
Dock:
There is a 12 foot aluminum rowboat and a canoe for your use to get to/from island. There are also 2 kayaks on the island to use during your stay. Lifejackets are in the brown storage box on the dock.
***It is important to note that the lake has a right of way for boaters. Facing the island you want to row the boat to the right off of the dock, follow the shoreline of the island and you will come upon a small cove where you can tie up and unload.
Other things to note
**Please note Bathroom Facilities - 1 Outhouse, 1 shower in the main cabin, 1 outdoor shower both have cold running water - we do have 2 sun shower camping bags that when put out in the sun for 2 hours offer hot water.
BEFORE YOU BOOK:
We limit the number of guests 8 persons including day guests
Pets: Limit of 2 dogs during your stay and that means guests too.
No smoking inside the cabins.
