Our upstairs apartment has two bedrooms, one with a queen bed, the other with a twin. There is a small kitchenette with seating, a microwave, sink and a bar fridge. The space has a private bathroom with a shower. There is wireless internet access. The rooms are private, but you'll share our entrance - say hi as you come and go! You might also enjoy sitting on our front porch and watching the world go by.
Enjoy a walk to the Alberta Arts District where you'll find art galleries, craft stores and dress shops. There are a number of restaurants nearby, including many choices for Thai food, pubs, pizza, Mexican, Italian and southern food. We are also close to a movie theater, a drug store and a grocery store.
We are pleased to meet new people, and enjoy sharing our home. Please fill out your profile or give us some information about yourself when booking so we can both feel comfortable. Also, we're sorry to say that the space isn't child-proofed and so we cannot accommodate young children.
We have two indoor cats. Much to their chagrin, they are not allowed upstairs. Regretfully, we cannot accommodate visiting pets.
Guests have the whole upstairs, two bedrooms, a kitchenette, seating area and bathroom to themselves. We welcome guests to sit on our porch and watch the world go by.

Ali and Dave were amazing hosts and the space was fantastic. This was my first time not having an apt to myself and it was a great experience. While you need to go through the house to get to the stairs, there is a door at the bottom that makes the entire 2nd level private. The hosts were very easy going and quiet (and didn't mind the hours we came and went). The beds were comfy and the neighborhood was great! I highly recommend staying here and will do so in the future!
Ali and David are extraordinary hosts. We are repeat guests, and will keep coming back on our regularly jaunts to Portland:) Their kindness, creativity and hospitality are what keep us coming back.
My friends and I had a wonderful stay at Ali and David's home. We interacted mostly with David, and he was very welcoming and helpful. Their home is in northeast Portland, which is about 15 min drive from the airport and other cool neighborhoods. We rented a car so the location was very convenient. The living space itself had great natural light and was very cosy. They offered towels, blankets, space heaters, microwave, fridge, and a water boiler. I definitely recommend their place for a nice and peaceful stay in Portland.
Ali and David's home was in a great location to get around town and next to the Alberta neighborhood with a lot to do. The 2 bedrooms were clean and comfortable. We were out quite a bit so it was just home base. They were gracious hosts. I would stay again if they accepted our reservation.
Thanks for a great stay.
Ali and David made me feel welcome and then some at all times. They easily granted me access to their kitchen, encouraged me to interact with them and as I had some difficulties with flying back to NYC due to a snowstorm, they even offered to put me up for one or two nights additional at no extra cost to me. They are both intelligent, accomodating and generous hosts.
I had a great time at Ali and David's house! They were very nice and helpful. If I visit Portland again, I will definitely choose their apartment.
Ali and David were awesome hosts! They were both very welcoming, and made sure we were comfortable in their home. The rooms and space were just as described. As for the location - the airport is a 10 min. drive away, and bus stops are close if you're without a car. I would definitely stay with the Kastners again!
We enjoy cooking, singing, hiking, bicycles, tabby cats, libraries and parlor guitars. We love meeting travelers and hearing their stories; can't wait to hear yours.
