Double bedroom with private wet room in a charming eighteenth century cottage with stunning views of the garden and surrounding countryside.

The space
Green Acre is a delightful cottage in the hamlet of Grindlow, located in a secluded part of the Peak District National Park. Your room is newly furnished and decorated to a high standard, with adjacent compact wet room and facilities for making drinks. Wifi is freely available, and I provide bathrobes, hairdryer and toiletries for your use during your stay. Breakfast is included in your rate. Assistance dogs are welcome for no extra charge and others by negotiation.

Guest access
You have private access to your part of the house, which is an annexe attached to the main building. You will also be able to enjoy the shared spaces. Sit out in the garden or patio, take in a spectacular sunset from the conservatory or cosy up by the log burner in the main lounge. My two dogs will be more than happy to show you how to relax! Breakfast is served downstairs in the farmhouse-style kitchen.
Parking is available on the drive plus garage storage for bicycles.

Other things to note
Green Acre is an old house with character! Doors vary in height and width and floors can be uneven. There are stairs down to the kitchen where breakfast is served. Contact me if you have accessibility issues as there is very likely a workaround.
I love to cook and have much experience hosting visitors from other countries and cultures. I'm happy to cater for all individual needs as long as you let me know at the point of booking. Breakfasts are largely locally sourced and home made, often including eggs from my own hens. I make my own muesli, bread, jams and marmalade.
Be aware I have two cocker spaniels who are enthusiastic without being overwhelming! They are very much part of the family, so if you particularly dislike dogs or are allergic, this may not be the place for you. Guests’ dogs are generally welcome, but it’s useful to know a bit about your dog first.

The area is a walker's paradise with access to public footpaths within yards of the house. You can enjoy ancient woodland, moorland, open fields or the spectacular rock formations of Tideswell or Cresswell dales.
A little further afield Castleton offers the Blue John Caves, Peveril Castle and the stark beauty of Winnats Pass. Eyam, the plague village, has a fascinating museum, delightful tea rooms and is home to Eyam Hall, besides also being the start point of the Peak Pilgrimage. Those looking for something on a grander scale will find Haddon Hall and Chatsworth within easy reach. The Ladybower reservoirs are stunning at any time of year, Hathersage offers a Jane Eyre themed walk and Edale the start of the Pennine Way. The nearest towns are Bakewell or Buxton.
The Queen Anne at Great Hucklow, the Bull's Head at Foolow and the Barrel at Bretton are all within a mile or so's walk, all serving excellent food and local ales.

I'm sociable and outgoing, enjoying meeting people from different countries and cultures. Having lived the city life for many years, I moved to this beautiful part of the country in 2016 and am longing to share it with you! When not out and about with my two dogs, you'll find me gardening, playing the piano or developing my needlework talents.
