About this listing
Located in South Kona, this Kona Paradise home is a wonderful place to come relax, cook a nice meal and watch the sunset on our enclosed covered lanai. Enjoy our very peaceful 2 bd/2ba home. Pebble Beach is just a short drive down the hill where one can swim and snorkel as well as hike the King's Trail along the coast. Hookena Beach is just 5 miles north and is often the location where the dolphins come to play. We are about a 45 minute drive through beautiful coffee farm lands to the town of Kailua-Kona. Volcanoes National Park and Green Sands Beach is about an 1 hr to 1.5 hours south.
The house has a large flat screen TV with a netflix account for movie watching. Private Bathroom and King size bed in Master bedroom with views of the ocean from the lanai. Kitchen comes equipped with the Ninja blender ( great for making smoothies or mango margaritas!!)
What else can I say except that this house is truly a wonderful place to relax.
You will have access to the entire house for yourself. House is located at dead end street with no other houses to the right or in front. Very quiet and peaceful location.
Interaction with Guests
We try our best to welcome guests from the beginning in order to show details regarding the house. Depending on length of stay, we also make an effort to furfill the drinking water bottles.
Kona Paradise is a very safe and clean neighborhood. Access to Pebble beach at bottom of hill is one of my favorite beaches. Sometimes it is a bit rough and the current is to strong to swim in but one can always stay at the shore and let the waves roll you around on the pebbles. Very special and fun! Also some nice hiking along the coast line to the left. You are guaranteed to see some wild goats.
Unfortunately, the Big Island does not have very public transit. It is a must to have a car for getting around.
Other Things to Note
The closest grocery store is about 20 minutes north in the heart of Captain Cook called Choicemart. Wonderful selection of local fresh food. Every Sunday morning till 2pm, is a wonderful farmers market located just one block north of Choicemart. Also, located about one mile south on the main highway from the top of Kona paradise subdivision is a nice fruit stand situated on left side of road. Nice selection with good prices.
Number one house rule is to relax and enjoy!
Do not drink tap water- okay for taking showers or brushing teeth. We are on water catchment. We provide drinking water in bottles in kitchen. Since we are dependent on the rain for water, we ask guests to be mindful of water use. Also, electricity comes at a very high price so we also ask guests to be mindful of this too. We have a clothes line under house for hang drying clothes.
Prefer for furniture to not be moved as well as no large parties.
Tres bonne connexion internet.

Sehr empfehlenswert. Mahalo für alles.
Guy is an outstanding host and the house is truly a Hawaiian paradise. I will definitely return!
Fantastic little house with beautiful surroundings and a sea view. Guy was a very helpful host and made our stay very pleasant. Good location for visiting the volcano and still within reach of Kona and Mauna Kea. Thanks!
Staying at this peaceful place in Kona Paradise has made our experience in big island uniquely fantastic! We were six people comfortably settled. The place is just like shown in the pics, clean, one room with very comfortable bed and a stunning view of the beach, which was also seen from the lanai, where one could sleep seeing the stars and listening to the distant waves... Guy was a great host, took care of all details to make us feel home and spoiled us with fresh mangos (from a tree at the entrance of the house!?!), wine and all helpful information needed. He saved us lending warmer jackets to visit the volcano and the observatory. All major highlights of the island are easily reachable by car from here. Therefore, I recommend this place to everyone visiting this beautiful paradise!
Guy was a very nice, funny, helpful and respectful host. When we arrived he showed us around and gave us lots of recommendations. He made sure we were feeling like home! He also explained the real meaning behind Aloha.
There was always fresh water and sheets and towels. We had fresh mangos every day, coz we had a tree just right by the house. By we I included the geckos, and they really appreciate the mangos, trust me ;).
The house, was clean and very compfortable, it was also equipped with everything you need. The best though is the huge lanai! My friend slept there every night and during our stay and we only missed one sunset. They were the best sunsets in my life! Already missing it so much! It's so peaceful and quiet... sigh... There are neighbours near by but we never heard or saw them.
There is no grocery store to walk by, in case that is important for you. But you always had a chance to buy something on the way to the house. I wish I could have stayed there forever! And I know for sure I will come back, to beautiful Big Island and this peaceful house, and lovely Guy! Thanks for having us Guy! Till next time ;)
Delphine's father Guy met us on arrival, was hugely helpful with all our (family group) logistics of baggage and briefing on the house. He's an extremely warm, friendly, welcoming person who took as much time as one would wish sharing his encyclopedic knowledge of Hawaii--especially the local beaches and 'places'. He made himself available to us but we didn't need anything as the house is extremely comfortable (very comfortable bedrooms/bathrooms) and 'wrap-around' lanai.
House in a quiet setting with very beautiful 'private' pebble beach at the bottom of the hill that we could hear from the lanai. Host have a nice supply of snorkeling gear to use (nice!) and a good bunch of cute geckos outside the house.
Location is a bit of a 30' drive from Kona but we found the access to the beaches down to South Point is great--and a more 'true Hawaiian' experience. Besides beaches, access to Volcano Nat Park, Hilo (and probably the Mauna Kea observatory which we didn't make it to..) is good.
We would love to return to this great place!
About the Host, Delphine
I'm originally from Paris, France but grew up in Washington State where I learned to appreciate the beautiful outdoors. Now I live on the Big Island of Hawaii which is an amazing place to enjoy what nature has to offer. I love to hike, swim, cook, dance, yoga and just simply relax with a glass of rose wine in my hand and watch the sunsets!
