Where you’ll be

Panguitch, Utah, United States

Nearest amenities, including restaurants and gasoline, are in Hatch, four miles south on Hwy 89. A wider variety of restaurants, gasoline, and grocery shopping is available in Panguitch, 11 miles north on Hwy 89, or in Bryce Canyon City, about half an hour east on Hwy 12. Some nearby restaurants are closed on Sundays. Most nearby restaurants close fairly early, 8pm or 9pm. There are no 24-hour convenience stores in close proximity.

The nearest large chain retail stores (i.e. WalMart, Smith's Grocery) and fast food restaurants (i.e. McDonalds, Taco Time, etcetera) are located 1-1/2 hours away in Cedar City (west to Interstate 15), Richfield (north on Hwy 89), or Kanab (south on Hwy 89).

The Studio Yurt is conveniently located just off Hwy 89, up a gravel driveway. The driveway is somewhat difficult to spot when arriving from the north; for safety when traffic is present, feel free to pass the driveway and turn around when it is safe to do so.

The nearest major airports are Salt Lake City (SLC) and Las Vegas (LAS); each are about 4-1/2 hours away.

My husband David and I moved to southern Utah in September of 2015 with our four cats. We bought a former art gallery situated on almost 14 acres that includes three yurts and a barn. We fell in love with the views of the Paunsaugunt red cliffs, Red Rock Canyon, and the Sevier River winding through the valley. We love hiking in the many nearby national and state parks.

My husband is a former elementary school special education teacher and I worked in social services for 27 years before taking an early retirement.

We love to travel, and have visited much of the U.S., as well as several countries, including Australia, China, Costa Rica, Thailand, Canada, and the UK.

For the past four years I managed vacation rentals for my neighbors in Hawaii. I loved meeting the guests from all over the United States and the world. I told my husband that this is the ideal job for me, and I am excited to be able to share our new vacation rental properties in southern Utah with others!
