The space
A wooden house, by the sea; entirely on its own, on a promontory - hidden amongst the trees..

The owner of the property, moved this house from where it was originally: near Ipoh, on the West Coast of Malaysia, 250 km away. It was built by the British Government, between the wars - has not been substantially altered, and is furnished according to the period.

Guest access
Two double bedrooms, two twin bedrooms. The rooms are equipped with: fan, cupboard, hall stand, reading light, bedsheets and towels.

There is a shared kitchen for a bit of self-catering - there is a fridge and two gas stoves for some light cooking (groceries not provided, please bring your own) - and plenty of tea and freshly ground coffee may be taken at any time. There are resorts nearby offering food, and several restaurants just 3 to 5 minutes walk further down the beach.

We have access to a trained chef who can prepare meals during your stay. If this is something you’re interested in, please let us know in advance so that we may share further details.

Similarly, we are able to help arrange your snorkelling trips as well as provide private diving expeditions with a highly trained PADI instructor.

Other things to note
The house is completely made out of salvaged wood and, therefore, no rainforest trees were cut. It runs on 100% solar power and we try to be as eco-friendly as possible given the fragile marine environment. You are also encouraged to use our biodegradable toiletries and be as environmentally conscious as possible during your stay.

We offer filtered water and ice for free.

We do NOT have hot running water.

We provide mosquito coils, there are nets on each bed and we also have bottles of highly effective (plant based) Mosiguard on site which you can purchase - but we do recommend that you bring your own.

There are no ATMs on the island and a lot places do not accept credit cards. It is a good idea to get enough cash out before heading over to Perhentian.

There are also no grocery shops near the house, so if you need things for light cooking, it is best to do your shopping beforehand on the mainland.

A daily cleaning service is available by request only. Please speak with your host upon your arrival, if interested.

During your stay, the host and, potentially, a few volunteers will be living on the premises together with you. Kindly state in advance if maximum privacy is an important aspect of your experience with us.

The host will welcome you at check-in and provide a brief orientation of the house. If you have any enquiries prior to your arrival do not hesitate to get in touch.
