Overall was a great house! Easy to access, lots of space, fun activities. Lots of DVD's/VHS, puzzles, board games. The internet wasn't working but Perry called us when he noticed to help (we said it was nice to have the internet shut off for a couple of days and declined). The Grill was near the gazebo which is next to impossible to reach with all the snow, so winter grilling was sadly out of the question for our little group. The kitchen is fantastic, big space with just about every cooking utensil and device necessary. The fireplace was also perfect, the garage was filled with wood to burn.
The winter goods such as snowshoes and sleds were a great extra! we walked around the property and on the frozen lake (each to his own - grew up in Canada and know when to and not to walk on ice) and made our own sledding area in the front.
The house is filled with a lot of random odds and ends that can be really useful for some (old toys, diapers, old clothes, etc...) but because of all of this it felt a bit cluttered/messy. Please note it only "felt" this way, the linens, tabletops, floors etc.. were all perfectly clean!
The area is a good 30 min drive from most things, suggest picking up essentials in Pittsfield. The roads can also be a bit tough in the winter so drive slow.
Checkout time was earlier than we are used to but was able to leave on time just fine.
Overall, this house was everything it promised to be and more and was perfectly suited for two couples, another adult, and a baby. The house itself is really nice, and the surrounding forest and nearby pond are truly amazing. We spent lots of time cooking, hanging out in front of the fireplace (the ample firewood really helped!), hiking to and around the pond, and checking out the foliage on a drive to Shelburne Falls. We especially appreciated how kid-friendly the house was; with a one year-old in tow, it was wonderful to know that most of what we needed to keep him happy over the weekend would be at the house instead of having to pack it all in the car. Molly and Perry were helpful and responsive and set us up with all of the information we needed for a great weekend.
Beautiful little place, secluded but still accessible to stores like the Old Creamery Coop and Elmer's, which Perry did such a good job including when he sent through information. House is very well-equipped, there was fire-wood, charcoal, etc. The pond is a little steep drop behind the house, although not challenging and the view is amazing. We had a pleasant stay overall. Thank you Perry, Molly.
Beautiful house in a wonderful location. Close enough to northampton, williams to get dinner or other things but far enough away to really enjoy the seclusion. Thanks!
