My friend and I truly enjoyed our stay at the Do Drop Inn. It was incredibly close to the Downtown Mall, a delicious southern BBQ joint was right around the corner (Ace Biscuit and Barbecue), and the UVA law school was within a 10 minute drive. Prior to our arrival, Ann provided us with a list of local attractions that proved amazingly helpful - we followed her suggestions for dinner several nights and we were never disappointed! She also thoughtfully left us with wine, bagels, cream cheese, and orange juice - all the essentials! The house itself was immaculate and the beds were super comfortable. If I am ever in Charlottesville again, I would not hesitate to stay at the Do Drop Inn (indeed, we were a little sad to leave in the first place!).
Everything at the Do Drop Inn was just lovely. It's a very cozy home and conveniently located just a few blocks from downtown. Ann left thoughtful treats to help us settle in (fruit, local newspaper) which really added a welcoming touch. I would stay here again anytime.
The Do Drop Inn is lovely with a very convenient location. We had a perfect stay. We have a toddler so having the convenience of a home while we were in Charlottesville was so nice. Ann had a great communication throughout the entire process. She also had so many thoughtful touches too, the local bread, fruit, juice, and wine just to name a few. We would love to stay again, especially when it's warmer so we can enjoy the backyard too. We highly recommend the Do Drop Inn.
Do Drop Inn was fabulous and Ann was a very gracious host! The house was very comfy and we felt right at home; we felt like we were house sitting for a close friend. Great communication!
The bungalow was charming, clean and cozy with lots of nice touches for guests. The photos on the website accurately depict it and “check-in” was super easy. The location is very convenient to restaurants, sites and the university. Why would we stay anywhere else?
Ann was a wonderful, generous host. We loved her house, and she made us feel right at home with a bottle of wine and loaf of locally made bread. Communication with her was easy and straightforward. We'd be delighted to stay at the Do Drop Inn again!
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Do Drop Inn this past weekend. The bungalow was adorable, and Ann was so nice to leave us with travel guides/magazines, milk, orange juice, fruit, and some blueberry pound cake made from a local shop! She even added an additional bottle of wine and some music CD's to take home. The bungalow was nicely situated in the middle of it all! Although we didn't walk or use the free trolley due to the frigid weather, it was an easy driving distance to many restaurants and shopping venues. Definitely plan on staying again when we travel back to Charlottesville.
In mid January, I booked a reservation for my mother, myself and my 11-month-old daughter at the Do Drop Inn. This was a special occasion marking my daughter's (almost) first birthday and my mother's first time to Charlottesville. My mother had never been to Virginia and I wanted her to have a wonderful experience in and around Charlottesville. Thanks to Ann and the Do Drop Inn, she absolutely did. Ann was an extremely gracious host who went out of her way for us. She obtained a pack and play for my daughter (which was in perfect condition), she gifted us with CD's, a bottle of wine and locally made sweet bread. Her house was beautiful, warm and cozy.... and her gorgeous Christmas tree was still up, which made the house all the more homey. I highly recommend Ann as a host along with her darling Do-Drop Inn.
The Do Drop Inn is a gem and was perfect for our visit to Charlottesville. Ann's decorating sense, her gorgeous fresh cut flowers/spectacular Christmas tree/live orchids, and her generous gifts (wine, CDs, lemon cake) made us feel like honored guests and not renters she had never met. It was FREEZING (forced air heating meant it warmed up the minute we raised the thermostat) when the three of us stayed at the Do Drop Inn, so we didn't venture out on foot, but it seems like you can even walk to the downtown/take bus - and ample parking on the street meant it was easy to leave car out front and then zip off to Monticello (only 20 minutes away and not to be missed!) or the fantastic downtown mall with its abundance of great restaurants. Ann shared some really helpful tips in an e-mail and was always super prompt to reply to any questions. She is a model host and I highly recommend the Do Drop Inn for anyone visiting Charlottesville.
PROS: Ann is a gracious host; the beds are super comfortable; the house is really beautifully decorated (pictures are very accurate, even down to the flowers!); and Charlottesville is a quaint town
CONS: When we were there is was too cold to take advantage of Ann's lovely front porch or big patio out back. The Do Drop Inn was so sunny and full of bright beautiful light and comfy chairs and sofas that sometimes it was hard to motivate and go out to explore.
We had such a fantastic stay at the Do Drop Inn! Loved having the whole house to ourselves and kitchen access, and the bed was probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in! There's an awesome high-end market 10 min walk away and an amazing restaurant named Maya you must check out!
Ann was an amazing host, very communicative, and she even returned our forgotten red box movie for us. She's the best!
