Room in a home

Your own room in a home, plus access to shared spaces.
We are a Canadian and Vietnamese homeschooling family of three. Our son is 3 and fully bilingual.

We offer an authentic Vietnamese family homestay in a spacious property with most Western conveniences.

We've learned a lot about what makes a great experience for both families and prefer to accommodate those with children 3-12 years old or couples 55+ who love children.

Stays of 1-2 weeks are ideal.

Chat with us before booking! We are open and won't hesitate to share our best recommendations.

The space
Our 3 story, 5 bedroom home is nestled away quietly in the rice fields of Cam Chau. By motorbike, we are 10 minutes from all the main beaches and 15 minutes to Old Town. We recommend you to commute by motorbike, electric scooter, or bicycle, but Grab car also works fine.

Our neighbors consist primarily of local families and we are not directly amidst major tourist infrastructure. By foot it takes about 5 minutes to get to the nearest main road. There are a handful of restaurants and cafes within short walking distance, including Roving Chillhouse and Chillax Eatery.

You will stay on the third floor of our home. The space has two full sized bedrooms, each with queen-size bed, en suite bathroom/shower, and a private balcony with rice field view. There is also a well-lit working desk and washer+dryer.

Our house also has a yoga studio (which doubles as a playroom) which you are welcome to share with us, including booking private sessions with Thuong.

You are also welcome to use the kitchen and fridge on the ground floor and join us for occasional family style meals.

Guest access
The house has one main entrance. Individual rooms are lockable, but you hopefully will never feel the need to lock up as the property is secure.

During your stay
This is a true homestay. We live in the house and will be your reliable contact while staying in Hoi An.

We love to arrange activities together, show you our favorite places, and share meals.

We are active members of the homeschooling/worldschooling community in Hoi An and can suggest many ways to engage your children.

Other things to note
Please read carefully before booking:
We only open our home to 1–2 families each month because our goal is to create real connections and meaningful exchanges with our guests. We run this homestay with the hope of sharing stories, learning about your life and culture, and welcoming you as part of our family — not just offering a place to sleep.

During your stay, we’d love to cook together, take walks through the rice fields, read books to the children, or learn to make Vietnamese dishes. This is a true homestay experience, where we share our culture and daily life with you, and we’d love for you to share yours with us too.

If this kind of cultural exchange and family-like environment is not what you’re looking for, a hotel might be a better fit. We don’t want you to feel uncomfortable, and we also value keeping our home a stress-free and like-minded space.

We warmly welcome guests who share our values, love for family, and curiosity about different ways of living. ❤️

Thuong is a yoga teacher and Chris is a chess trainer if anyone in your family is interested in these activities.

We have a sweet and very child friendly 4 year old, medium sized dog. She does not go to the third floor where your rooms are located.

We regularly bake fresh sourdough bread and love to use our waffle maker for breakfast :)

I like to spend time with my guests
I am a yoga teacher, a travel blogger and a homeschool mom. I used to live in Ho Chi Minh city before falling in love with Hoi An and deciding to settle down here. I love everything about this little town, the beach, the yellow old town, the rice fields and the people. Our family would love to help you discover the hidden gems in Hoi An!
