The Space

Why share your space when you can have privacy?
10'x17' solid, free standing cabin with queen-sized bed, bathroom with shower, amazing view, and electric fireplace. View of Mt. Hood with breeze in the trees and babbling of Big Buck Creek down below.
We sit on 1500' of Big Buck Creek, just a short walk down from the cabin. The water is mid-calf deep so it's perfect for rock hopping or just following the stream.
We provide linens, bath towels, beach towels, dishes, and utensils.
There is a Tassimo brewing system with coffee, creamer, and sugar, and a mini-fridge for your cold stuff.
Access to covered grilling area.
We are minutes from windsurfing and kite boarding in Hood River (6 miles to bridge), golfing in Husum (1 mile) or white water rafting (3 miles). Head south to Mt. Hood or northwest to Mt. Adams. Both are breathtaking. Trails and waterfalls are in abundance.
If you have your own kayak, you can launch north of us, enjoy a ride down the White Salmon, and pull out at Northwestern Lake. It's less than a 1/2 mile to the cabin. We can assist in transportation to or from launch site.
1/3 mile to Big Buck Creek trailhead and miles of trails to Nestor Peak and beyond. Popular place for mountain bikers and horseback riders.
Two miles from Northwest Riding Stables.
Got pets? Let us know. Large driveway that circles around can easily accommodate RV's, campers, and horse trailers.
We are honored that the Guest Suite is quickly becoming a favorite for a getaway from Portland or a stop over for travelers from Seattle or Bend.

  • Everything at Lisa's was wonderful! She was so welcoming and had great suggestions for places to visit! We rafted on the white salmon which is just minutes from their place and went hiking as well. We cooked on the grill for every meal and had everything we needed! I will definitely be back again.

  • We made a very spontaneous overnight plan in the Hood River area and Lisa graciously accepted our late notice reservation. The cabin exceeded our expectations. It was clean, cozy, private and very comfortable with outstanding views. Lisa made us feel very welcomed and made sure we had all the basics and then some! We would definitely consider a return trip. Thanks Lisa!

  • We really enjoyed our stay in this quaint, peaceful cabin. The only sounds we heard were nature and Lisa was great. No hassles, great location, clean and relaxing room. Thanks!

  • Wow! What a lovely spot to relax over the July 4th holiday. We wanted to be somewhere quiet outside of Portland and the Guest Suite more than delivered. The cabin had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom and sink were far nicer than what anyone would expect in a cabin, and the little fridge (with milk for our coffee!) and coffee maker were awesome extra touches. The water pressure was better than in our house and the cabin was as nice as a high-end hotel room -- this is not roughing it, unless you think a tranquil weekend without TV or traffic is rough. And the view was really amazing. We slept with the sliding door open with a view of Mt Hood and could hear the creek and the rustling of the resident deer visiting each evening. Lisa was such an great host, we knew we could ask if we needed anything, but the Guest Suite is situated on the property in such a way we really felt like we were alone on the side of a mountain. The property is walking distance to a little creek on the property and a slightly longer walk to a public park with river access. White Salmon is a short drive away and we got a picnic lunch from Feast and went bird-watching on the Columbia River nearby. Highly recommended.

  • We had a nice stay at the Guest Suite. It was everything I expected and was very private. The room itself had everything I needed and more; it was quite cute and comfortable. I'd have to say I enjoyed this suite out of all the hotels we stayed at during our short visit in Oregon. Beautiful views of the trees and a bit of Mt. Hood, it was perfect really. Lisa was very nice and gave us our privacy. Although we only stayed one night, I enjoyed the chickens that were walking around the grounds and especially the pet cat who was real sweet. This was so close to Mt. Hood and so affordable, I would highly recommend Lisa's Guest Suite!

  • We stayed in Lisa's Guest Suite for two gloriously peaceful nights. It is a tiny little cabin that consists of the bedroom and bath totally separate and private from their home. The wall facing away from their home has a sliding glass door that looks out onto trees and a view that is green and gorgeous. We left the door open all night so we could enjoy the pleasant night, the sounds of the creek and the birds and fresh air.
If you want to be very close to Hood River this might not be the place for you because it is a bit remote. We were probably about a 15 minute drive from my son's home in Hood River but it suited us just fine. Has a comfy bed and a good shower, too! You get a beautiful view of Mt Hood as you drive across the bridge from White Salmon to HR. We would happily stay there again!

  • Had a wonderful time at Lisa's cabin! There is a darling trail that leads to a creek that was a perfect walk on a summer day. Lisa also has some very friendly chickens that made my day. The cabin was very comfortable and had everything we needed to make our stay memorable. Would definitely stay again.

  • Lisa's cabin is nothing short of a woodsy paradise! It was cozy and clean, outfitted with new fixtures and furniture. Extra special amenities, like microbrews in the fridge, were a welcome treat after a long day if driving.

But the real draw of Lisa's cabin is it's location. Up the road a bit from White Salmon, it offers quiet seclusion while still being nearby a wide selection of restaurants and pubs. The view from the room is relaxing and inspiring - a great place to come home to.

My boyfriend and I spent a lot of time hiking and rafting on our trip, but we would have happily stayed in this room the whole time. :)

  • We had a great stay. This was our 1st Airbnb adventure and it was great. Lisa and her cabin were awesome. We are looking forward to booking with her again in the future.

We live in White Salmon, WA. Love the active, healthy lifestyle of the Gorge. My husband and I have been married 20 years and we are both US Marine Corps veterans. We have 3 amazing children, ages 11, 8, and 6 that we currently homeschool. We love to travel. We love meeting interesting people doing interesting things. We can speak French better as we drink more wine. Two rules in life that we live by: 1. Don't wait and 2. Don't push your luck. We are blessed to be living on an amazing piece of property that is best shared with others.
