Private but not isolated. Think of it as luxury camping.
Why share your space when you can have privacy?
10'x17' solid, free standing cabin with queen-sized bed and bathroom with shower. View of Mt. Hood with breeze in the trees and babbling of Big Buck Creek down below.
--linens, towels, and beach towels
--dishes & utensils
--Tassimo brewing system with coffee, decaf, & tea, creamers, & sugar
--electric fireplace (cozy!)
--bedside clock with USB dock & outlets for phone charging
--maps and info on local tourist attractions and hikes
--access to grilling area. Disclaimer: grill is aging. Left 3 burners work fine. There is also a side burner that works great.
We sit on 1500' of Big Buck Creek, just a short walk down from the cabin. The water is mid-calf deep so it's perfect for rock hopping or just following the stream.
We are minutes from windsurfing and kite boarding in Hood River (6 miles to bridge), golfing in Husum (1 mile) or white water rafting (3 miles). Head south to Mt. Hood or northwest to Mt. Adams. Both are breathtaking. Trails and waterfalls are in abundance.
If you have your own kayak, you can launch north of us, enjoy a ride down the White Salmon, and pull out at Northwestern Lake. It's less than a 1/2 mile to the cabin. We can assist in transportation to or from launch site.
Two miles from Northwest Riding Stables.
Got pets? Let us know. Large driveway that circles around can easily accommodate RV's, campers, and horse trailers.
We are honored that the Guest Suite is quickly becoming a favorite for a getaway from Portland or a stop over for travelers from Seattle or Bend.
Grilling area, trail down to Big Buck Creek
Interaction with Guests
We love to meet the Guests at check-in otherwise we "wing" it. We've had a few guests join us on the deck for a drink & good conversation (super fun), but we like to respect the Guest's privacy. The cabin is separate from the house so it allows Guests to come & go at their leisure.
Private but not isolated
Public transit in the Gorge is anything self-propelled (biking, jogging, kayaking, etc). :)
The cabin is detached from the house but if you need washer/dryer, just let us know. The grilling area is available for your use. No smoking. No drug use, including marijuana. Pets are welcome if they are approved first.
We really enjoyed our stay at Lisa's cute White Salmon cottage. The setting and the view are private and idyllic. You feel like you're the only ones around. The room itself is beautiful, clean and has all the amenities you need for a quiet escape. Lisa is a wonderful, friendly host with lots of great tips about where to go in the area.
Our GPS made travel easy especially reviewing The directions on airbnb app. Lisa was very friendly and accommodating. The room was perfect. Comfortable bed, clean bathroom and a beautifully peaceful view. For only being 10 minutes away from town it's the ideal stay for a trip to Hood River area. Just remember to have a few $1 on hand for the toll bridge. We are definitely returning. So much to do and see on the Columbia Gorge!
Lisa was great! The cabin was perfect.- very clean, comfortable bed, tasty coffee, beautiful surroundings. I hope to make it back again soon.
By far the highlight of our trip! Lisa was so sweet and very accommodating! Perfect get away that is both private, however you still feel safe and surrounded. Tidy cabin with a perfect view and soothing sounds of the nearby water. Would highly recommend and plan to return soon!
We had a great stay at Lisa's place. Her property is beautiful and the Columbia River Gorge was stunning. Her house is a short drive from Hood River and very close to lots of amazing hiking trails. We enjoyed our stay very much!
This place is amazing. Very cozy little cabin with a beautiful view. Bed was extremely comfortable, and we loved the little amenities (coffee,fridge,etc.). I wish we could have stayed longer. We arrived very late, and Lisa was super accommodating. Thanks for being an awesome host!
What a fabulous cabin and setting! I loved the view and peaceful sound of the creek below. The bed was very comfortable and all the amenities were provided. The only downside was having to leave. I highly recommend Lisa as a wonderful host.
We live in White Salmon, WA. Love the active, healthy lifestyle of the Gorge. My husband and I have been married 20 years and we are both US Marine Corps veterans. We have 3 amazing children, ages 11, 9, and 6. We love to travel. We love meeting interesting people doing interesting things. We can speak French better as we drink more wine. We are blessed to be living on an amazing piece of property that is best shared with others.
