About this listing

Why share your space when you can have privacy?

We sit on 1500' of Big Buck Creek, just a short walk down from the cabin. The water is mid-calf deep so it's perfect for rock hopping or just following the stream.
We are minutes from windsurfing and kite boarding in Hood River (6 miles to bridge), and tons of white water rafting (3 miles). Head south to Mt. Hood or northwest to Mt. Adams. Both are breathtaking. Trails and waterfalls are in abundance.
If you have your own kayak, you can launch north of us, enjoy a ride down the White Salmon, and pull out at Northwestern Lake. It's less than a 1/3 mile to the cabin. We can assist in transportation to or from launch site.
Two miles from Northwest Riding Stables.
Got pets? Let us know. Large driveway that circles around can easily accommodate RV's, campers, and horse trailers.
We are honored that the Guest Suite is quickly becoming a favorite for a getaway from Portland or a stop over for travelers from Seattle or Bend.
Grilling area, trail down to Big Buck Creek
Interaction with Guests
We love to meet the Guests at check-in otherwise we "wing" it. We've had a few guests join us on the deck for a drink & good conversation (super fun), but we like to respect the Guest's privacy. The cabin is separate from the house so it allows Guests to come & go at their leisure.
Private but not isolated
Public transit in the Gorge is anything self-propelled (biking, jogging, kayaking, etc). :)
Other Things to Note
You may be greeted by "Phoebe." She is a rottie/lab mix, very sweet, that we adopted almost a year ago. She is harmless, will greet you, and then leave you alone. For guests with dogs, we have 4 free range chickens, a rabbit in a fenced in corner, and some horses.
The cabin is detached from the house but if you need washer/dryer, just let us know. The grilling area is available for your use. No smoking. No drug use, including marijuana. Pets are welcome if they are approved first.
Wonderful setting and delightful little house. Highly recommended. I heard the lovely sounds of frogs as I fell asleep, and enjoyed the lovely views. There was the right amount of privacy. Everything was clean and comfortable. Thank you!
Beautiful room with much attention to detail and comfort. Very serene aetting with a/c if you need it.
Great room, and an even better location, especially if you want some peace and quiet. Also, the daughter was the cutest welcome we could ever get, with her showing us to her room!
Lisa's cabin was perfect for my stay in Washington! It was cozy and homey, and I liked knowing that the family was close just in case I needed anything. Lisa offered some amazing restaurant and activity information and was a perfect host! Plan to return within the year but this time with a travel companion!
Lisa was very welcoming and set us up on the grill that worked great and showed us the beautiful cabin. It was beautifully natural and serene and the view from the cabin was very woodsy and nice. The cabin itself was very nice with good furnishings and fixtures. Very comfy, relaxing, and fun place to stay!
Our stay at Lisa's cabin was so wonderful. Lisa was so easy to make arrangements with, was so responsive, and very flexible with our arrival time. We were blown away by the drive from Portland to White Salmon. The view of Mt. Hood from the downtown of White Salmon was the most beautiful view I've ever seen. The cabin was a heavenly place. We were able to walk down a path to a little creek and picked a couple fresh blackberries on the way. It was so clean and stocked with fresh towels and essentials, including coffee. Downtown White Salmon and Mt. Hood have a couple great restaurants and bars. We stopped at Solstice and Everyobody's Brewing and both were awesome. We also had a great experience white water rafting at Wet Planet. Everything about our stay was wonderful. I would absolutely recommend paying his cabin a visit!
Lisa was responsive and welcoming when I booked with her. She was kind and understanding when I experienced a personal challenge that impacted my reservation. I'm looking forward to booking with her in the future.
