The Blue Room is in the Beacon Bamboo Forest (BBF), a colonial house built in the 1900s. BBF is located in the City of Beacon, Dutchess County, New York and in the heart of up and coming Beacon.
The upper story of BBF, with new hardwood floors, has 3 charming bedrooms with a common bath. PLEASE NOTE that only two out of the three rooms are rented out and that I live in the third room. The Blue Room has a queen size real bed with Japanese mattresses.
The main floor features a kitchen, dining room, living room and an enchanting rustic yard with bamboo growing tall, beautiful and magnificent. The house has an old world charm to it.
Walk to galleries, antique stores, restaurants, bars and cafes along Main Street, the amazing waterfall in the east and the Hudson on the west. Easy access to the Metro North Train Station that takes you into Manhattan, NYC.
Bring your novel, laptop or newspaper and lounge in cafes, or just walk around in the fresh mountain air. There are great hiking trails all around including one leading to Mount Beacon. Visit charming nearby Cold Spring, Garrison and other waterfront cities/towns a few miles from Beacon, and accessible by car and the Metro north.
