  • We loved Marios apartment. The view is stunning, it is very private, and they had gone out of their way to make our stay wonderful, with a bowl of fresh fruit and a bottle of delicious home grown olive oil. The apartment is perfectly placed for visits to all the amazing places in Umbria, and as it is in the country it is wonderfully quiet. I certainly recommend Marios place.

  • We had a lovely stay at Mario's place near Assisi. Although we never met Mario, his family took great care of us, even providing some fresh fruit and breakfast things (as well as a bottle of their own production olive oil). The apartment was spotless, the view from the deck gorgeous--nice to have a quiet retreat from the sightseeing activity. The location is a perfect base for exploring both Assisi and the surrounding area.

Note: it is a bit tricky to find, and our GPS did not locate the address properly. As noted by another guest, "53" was across the street but the GPS liked it better. The drive is right in the bend of a curve as you come up the hill.

  • The appartment of mario was nearby Asissi. We had a balcony with a very nice
view on the area/hills nearby. The apartment was luxury. Everything was in it. We can recommend this place to anyone visiting Assisi.

  • Mario is a saint. This was my first time using air bnb as a tenant, and was at wedding in Italy that ran very, very late. We got lost driving to his house in the night, and he allowed me call him and helped us find his place at an extremely late hour. He was unbelievably kind and helpful, and truly went above and beyond the call of duty. His place was spacious, clean, and beautifully nestled in the hillside. I'm so grateful for his generosity and kindness. Not only is he a great host, but a HERO!

An excellent place to visit neaby Assisi, but also Perugia quite near.
For the first morning we even received some goods for breakfast.

  • As soon as we checked into Mario's beautiful apartment in Assisi we were regretting that we had only reserved one night. This is an amazing retreat in Umbria and a place to feed your soul. The apartment was spotlessly clean and modern, the bed was comfortable, and there is no way to describe the spectacular views from the private deck overlooking the olive grove and Assisi. We were greeted by Mario's wife and enjoyed the fresh olive oil from their olives. Even though Mario's home is not right in Assisi, if you are driving your own car, you should not miss the opportunity to stay here!!!!

  • The apartment is fantastic - sadly we never got to meet Mario but even without speaking Italian we were able to find the house, check in and had a great stay. - lots of room - wonderful view from the balcony very quiet and close to Assisi (by car). I forgot a hat at the apartment and sent text explaining where we would be in Rome 5days later - when we got to Rome my hat was waiting for us. Grazie Mario!
I would highly recommend this for anyone with a car to get around the country side - we only styed 2 nights - it would be a great spot to spend a week as a home base o explore Umbria and Tuscany. Only one minor concern - the house was not easy to find - our GPS took us close but the address is not marked on the road and the property does not look as wonderful as it is from the road - we drove by a couple of times before getting a local to show us the way - a small adventure and all good in the end.

  • Me and my friend stayed for one week in the apartment, we arrived late by car from Rome late but Mario and Carla were still up waiting for us, we felt welcome immediately. Mario speaks good English, Carla does not but we managed allright, although marion ahd to leave the rest of the week to work next day.\
The apartment looks cosy and clean, the beds were allright too, the view from the bedroom is nice; Sterpeto, the little village on the hill top covered with olive trees and the sound of a small clock wakes you up in the morning.
The fridge contained the first breakfast and then we found our way to the nice supermarket in Petrignano, filled with special sausages and smoked cheese and so on.. We visited Assisi two times, got involved in the stories of St Franciscus, it's only 7 kms away. And also the big Basilica at Sta. Maria dei Angeli plus the little museum with a beautiful altar by Andrea della Robbia is nearby. We saw as well Perugia (park at P Partizani) and the Galleria Nazionale de Umbria with a lot of Perugino paintings and statues by Agostino de Duccio.
We visited Deruta (Grazia ceramics) & Todi at plm 50 kms. Gubbio is at 30 kms; a wonderful town I visited 2 years ago, -Carla comes from there-, in the Palazzo Ducale is a ceramics museum too, specialized in luster (metallic) ware.
One morning we just walked down the hill between the olive trees to the little stream and we made another walk to Petrignano (2 kms) and the grave yard nearby. Carla brought us fresh eggs and helped us out booking tickets for the Vatican in advance, she is a sweet lady.
I will miss the great Umbrian landscape and slow breakfasts at the terrace overlooking the green valleys a lot. I will sure be back one day with Mario and Carla, maybe arriving at St. egidio Airport, nearby Perugia and rent a car there is a good alternative.

  • We really enjoyed our stay with Mario and his wife! The apartment was perfect and the view from our terrace was beautiful, overlooking the valley. The location was a lovely hillside setting, his craftsmanship was everywhere. Assisi was very close and he guided us to his favorite restaurant, the food was delicious and their service was excellent. We are definitely coming back! Thank you Mario! Bravo!

  • . The house is a little bit distant from Assisi so it's necessary a car. But worth it! It's a very nice place, has a really beautiful view and Mario is a kind and nice host. I truly recommend!
