Room in a bed and breakfast

Your own room in a home, plus access to shared spaces.
Minutes from Fall Creek Falls State Park, this private luxury suite offers inviting views on every side: rolling pastures with horses, 2 1/2 acre pond with wildlife, forests, and farm life. Awaken to our farm-fresh breakfast served in elegance (optional), or, enjoy a warm bowl of oatmeal and fruit (provided with your suite).

Our Philosophy.
We believe that a Bed and Breakfast really should be about - well, The Bed and The Breakfast. Take a look at the photos and we'll explain what we mean.

The space
Peaceful surroundings with luxurious benefits. Enjoy taking in the beauty of our gardens while reclining on the hammock (seasonally). Make a personal connection with one of our horses during a Mustang Join-Up (by reservation). Schedule a couples massage by licensed massage therapists available upon request (based on availability with two-week prior notice). Enjoy dessert under the stars by our outdoor fire pit; choose from German Strawberry Schuam Torte, Caribbean Fudge Rum Pie, or our Elevated S’mores.

Guest access
Guests are assigned a personal access code to their private suite to check-in and leave at leisure. The 38-acre farm avails canoeing, fishing, hiking, Mustang Join-Ups (by reservation only), and is just minutes from Fall Creek Falls State Park.

During your stay
Guests receive code to the suite before arrival and may arrive at their leisure. We show up only when invited, during the service of the Farm-Fresh Breakfast (when pre-ordered), and during horsemanship events. Optional Farm-Fresh Breakfasts May be ordered for delivery to the suite or served on the wrap around front porch of the main lodge. Optionally, lunch and dinner menus are available seasonally (late Spring and Summer, and Saturday evenings during the Fall and Winter) with an open invitation to dine at the family dinner table. Mustang Join-Ups with an instructor (your hostess) are available upon requests. Additionally, enjoy a fireside dessert under the stars.

Other things to note
To enjoy a Farm-Fresh Breakfast served country chic-style on the front porch while taking in the surrounding views (weather permitting), you may request an email with our breakfast menu options (prices listed on menu), and select one option for your entire party. Optionally, you may request to have breakfast delivered to your private suite. Breakfasts are made with Farm-Fresh eggs, whole-grains, and unrefined/natural ingredients. Additionally, enjoy freshly juiced apple or orange juice, and a cup of I coffee to start your day.

Complimentary oatmeal packets, coffee and tea are available with the room.

Fireside Dessert Under the Stars. S’mores or other dessert selections to be enjoyed by a campfire in reclining chairs are available upon request. ($20-$30)

My work: Hospitality Coordinator and Chef at Selah Farms
Speaks English
Lives in Pikeville, Tennessee
I am wife to my dear husband of 30 years. We recently graduated our second and last child after homeschooling for fourteen years. Our twenty-two year-old daughter is a commissioned artist and art instructor, providing art experiences and artwork for our guests to commemorate their stay at Selah Farms (when available). Our son is in the process of completing his bachelor degree in History.. As a child and as a teen, I enjoyed horseback riding and horse show competition. In 2010, I was able to revisit my childhood passion with the arrival of our first horse. We had no idea then that she would pave the way for seven more horses to find their way to our farm and our hearts. These beauties allow us to offer horsemanship sessions and riding to our guests. My other great passion is music. When I'm not sitting at the keyboard penning prayers into song, my husband and I are involved in the music ministry we began twenty-two years ago as a praise band with 17 members. Over the years we have been blessed to see it grow to an additional Big Band and a 50-piece orchestra. Comprised of individuals from 35 different churches and denominations, these concerts are a place where the Church can come together to worship Jesus Christ in unity. When my husband and I take off for a getaway, we like to take the "slow traveler" approach, soaking in the culture and everyday lives of the people being paramount for having truly visited a destination. I enjoy taking in museums, local artisan venues, and food markets. I find learning the history of places fascinating, so if there are historical sites to visit we may take time for a few excursions.
