Legend has it, this was the first house on Patterson Ave. Built in 1905 by German brothers, this stone and stucco craftsman style home has three bedrooms with two full baths, one upstairs, the other located downstairs near the laundry area. The kitchen has been renovated with new cabinets and stainless steel appliances including a gas stove.
The rooms have 13 foot ceilings with original crown molding showcasing the craftsmanship of an earlier era. All of the interior doors are original with charming crystal handles. One of the most unique aspects of the property is the double staircase. One set of steps is in the dining room and one in the kitchen, which join together on the way up to the second level.
For energy saving purposes we replaced the old windows with triple pane, durable, and cost efficient windows, which are decorated with beautiful 2 1/2 inch white plantation shutters. The floors are original hardwood.
The basement has a dressing area, with full length mirror. There is a professional steamer for your use. The laundry area has a front loader washer dryer.

The house was everything that we had expected. Very nice, very clean accommodations and the welcome gifts were a nice touch.
Our host was accessible and followed up to ensure our stay was enjoyable, and had everything that we needed. The location was perfect for exploring Richmond and the West End. Shopping and restaurants were within walking distance. This is a well kept property with a spacious front porch. We will definitely return on our next trip to Richmond.
We really enjoyed staying at this lovely, quaint house in Richmond, VA. Our family of 4 stayed for the Christmas holiday, and the location (near a great park, unique shopping district with a neat movie theater), size of the house, availability of pans etc for cooking some holiday meals (and even being able to host some slightly larger family dinners).
Another nice surprise was the bowel of snacks waiting when we checked in!
The place is in a great location and had a basket full of goodies welcoming our family. We plan to try to stay here for our 3rd time in the future.
We stayed at Patterson Place for 7 nights while visiting Richmond for our son's graduation. The house is very spacious and nicely renovated, and the furniture is extremely comfortable. The kitchen is great, and was stocked with lots of pantry supplies as well as a welcome basket with snacks and delicious granola. The kitchen has more cooking equipment and cutting boards than had time to use, but I could have prepared a holiday meal in it with no problem.
We appreciated the comfortable beds, iron & ironing board, which were in the spare room upstairs, and the great shower above the bathtub. The upstairs bathroom hasn't been renovated, but it was comfortable and had lots of vintage charm.
We loved the backyard, and at another time of year, would have enjoyed spending time outside. The house's location is on a busy street, but it is extremely located, and we weren't bothered at all by some muffled traffic sounds.
This is a perfect house for family visits, entertaining local friends, and enjoying Richmond. We hope to book it for visits in the future.
Great house - great hosts - great location! 2nd time staying and will be back again for sure. Thank you.
I've stayed in this house twice now, and it's a great place - the neighborhood is quiet, the house is well-appointed and comfortable, and Roseanne is a gracious host. Planning on staying here again!
