Experience being a part of musical history surrounded by musical memorabilia in this meticulously restored 1911 home with many modern amenities for your comfort. This 5000+ sq foot duplex is being offered as an entire home to accommodate larger groups.

The space
This fully restored 1911 home has retained much of its original wood workings and resurfaced wood floors. Uniquely decorated to share the passion of the owner's love of Motown music , each room is decorated with special photos, art and memorabilia. We want to encourage visitors to the city of Detroit to experience the fun and energy that Motown music brought to the world and each floor has a working 1963 Wurlitzer Juke box filled with various Detroit artists. We are focused on providing groups an amazing experience, one to share with future visitors and friends.

Guest access
Guests will have all access to the entire house with the exception of the mechanical/furnace room in the basement and 3rd floor mechanical room.

Other things to note
This property is professionally maintained and managed; it is also monitored by ADT Security. The security system includes external cameras, fire, glass breakage, sump pump, controlled heating and cooling systems and police and fire notification via a user friendly key fob and alarm panels located at each entrance. Keyless check in details given prior to check in.
No parties. No Pets. No Smoking.

WARNING of LOFT/ BUNK BED RISKS. A loft/bunk bed has an inherent risk of fall as it requires climbing to reach the bed. Children should not be left alone in a room that contains a bunk bed. Only one person should be allowed on the top bunk at a time, and there should be absolutely no horseplay on or under the beds. To prevent strangulation, never attach or hang items to any part of the bunk bed that are not designed for use with the bed; for example, but not limited to, belts, hooks, jump ropes and towels.
RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS FROM RISKS. As a condition of booking this ROOM/APARTMENT/LISTING, Guest hereby releases and holds harmless the Owner, its officers, directors, employees, agents, volunteers, and contractors from any claim, demand, loss, liability, damages, and attorney fees and costs whatsoever arising from, related to, or resulting from these Risks, including those caused by the negligent acts or omissions of those released herein, and agrees to indemnify Owner for any claims for injuries to those allowed in the ROOM/APARTMENT/LISTING by the Guest.

Neighborhood highlights

Our home is located in one of the fastest growing districts in the city (New Center). Located 7 doors down from the historic Motown Museum, this Airbnb operates in the historic district. It is a very walk-able neighborhood located just 3 blocks from the Fisher Theater and 5 blocks from Woodward Ave (Q line transport). A pizza restaurant and party store for drinks and snacks are located directly across the street. A CVS Pharmacy is 1 block away. Note: Motown Museum is underway with their expansion directly behind this property and there are a couple of blighted homes waiting to be demolished.

Native Detroiter. 3rd generation born and raised in the city. I love Detroit, through and through. It has the grit and determination of the heart of Americas manufacturing industry and also the charm and character of many European cities. I left Detroit for a decade to serve in the military until I returned home and have been here ever since. I love showing people the hidden places all over the city to make their experience and travel to my home town one of the best experiences ever. Motown is my favorite music and this house is just steps away from where Detroits music changed the world. So amazing.
