This beautifully renovated 1960s ranch house - located approximately 10 minutes (5 miles) from downtown Austin - is the perfect home base for any visitor.
Guests enjoy a private bedroom (queen bed) with ensuite bathroom as well as all shared living areas of the home: huge living room, great sun room, 2 dining areas, fully equipped kitchen, laundry with washer/dryer, large shaded backyard, cable TV (in living area as well as the guest bedroom), and wireless Internet throughout the house.
Interaction with Guests
Common areas of the home (living, dining, kitchen) are shared with me and my dogs. I work from home, and can be around the house a lot.
The neighborhood, called Windsor Park, was developed in the 1950s and 60s - and no other Austin neighborhood is changing as rapidly. It's a great location, super-convenient to major thoroughfares, and only 5 miles (10 minutes driving or 30 minutes by bus) from downtown Austin. Local businesses (restaurants, bars) within Windsor Park and adjacent hoods are described in a welcome packet that's provided to guests.
Other Things to Note
If interested, the entire home (not shared) is also available for periods of 1 week or longer. Inquire if interested.
Guests are expected to treat the home (and its furnishings) with respect. Smoking is not permitted in the house and pets are only allowed on a case-by-case, pre-approved basis.
Between the beautiful home and Tim's engaging personality, we couldn't have been happier with our experience. The accommodations are more than just clean and comfortable; Tim's great style gave us unique design ideas for our own home! Tim's dogs are nothing short of adorable and were great hosts to our own pup. There is a great park just around the corner where I walked our dog in the morning. We enjoyed our stay in Austin and look forward to coming back soon.
This was our first AirBnB experience and it was great. Tim's house is exactly as pictured: clean, bright and modern. Our room was comfortable and quiet, it has a private bathroom and the shower is plenty high enough for me (I'm 6' 4"). The two dogs are sweet and quiet, and never bothered us at all even though neither of us is a dog person.
Tim was a great host. There's none of the awkwardness you might expect staying in the home of someone you've never met, and we both enjoyed all the conversations we had with him whenever our paths would cross. Plus he gets the NY Times delivered, so you can start your day right with coffee and the news of the world.
The neighborhood is very quiet, with windy streets with a semi-suburban feel, and everyone keeps their places up. We went for a walk one morning and passed very few cars.
All in all, a happy experience. I really can't think of even one complaint. Whenever we next go to Austin I can't imagine that we'll want to stay anywhere else.
Modern house, as advertised. Great friendly dogs. A little bit removed from downtown Austin, but still in an interesting area. Perfect for what we needed, a nice place at a good price with a gracius host. Thanks!
What a lovely & very comfy stay at Tim's. Could not have asked for a better host. After long days at SXSW craziness it was wonderful to come home to very friendly, welcoming dogs & a fabulous home to relax Thanks Tim...you are indeed a super host. I will be back.
We felt right at home at this house! We absolutely love the dogs and the continental breakfast was great. Our room and bathroom were spotless. Tim is a great host with a beautiful home in a nice neighborhood.
Tim's home was just as beautiful as described. It was impeccably decorated and extremely clean. I was also impressed that he provided a very nice booklet detailing the nearby attractions. Tim was incredibly welcoming, kind and communicative - I would definitely book with him again.
We stayed at Tim's recently for a couple of days. The place was exactly as described, very contemporary, spacious and with its own attached bath. The place is just a 15 min drive to downtown Austin. Tim is a very friendly host who made us feel very welcome at his place. He gave us some good suggestions on things to do in Austin. He also makes really good coffee and what better way to start the day! I would highly recommend his place to anyone traveling to Austin.
I recently moved to Austin from NYC. I work from home (ie, if you're staying here, I'll be around a lot), but also travel all the time for work. My interests are eclectic: outdoor activities (especially those that can include my dogs), good food, good beer, fiction, film (current and especially classic), visual art, painting (please don't laugh at my extremely amateur artwork!), and bad TV.
I decided to host on AirBnB to make better use of my space with all airbnb proceeds dedicated to the home's slow (and painful!) renovation. As an added bonus, it's been great meeting an extremely diverse range of people with whom I'd never cross paths otherwise.
I'm eager to make the experience of staying in my home positive, and welcome suggestions and critique from guests.
