Things to keep in mind:
This apartment is on a limited-service bus line (no weekend service) and is *not* within walking distance to downtown State College. Guests staying in the apartment would do best if they have a car. Apartment does *not* have a TV or air conditioning. This apartment is in the lower level of our home. We will be home during rental periods, and are looking for renters who are reasonably quiet after 10 p.m.
We do have one cat, but the cat has never entered the apartment.
No smoking in the apartment.
The apartment is in the lower level of our home. We try to be home to greet our guests and make sure they're settled into the apartment OK. Once in a while, we can't be home to greet guests, in which case we make sure they know how to get into the apartment, and then try to connect once we get home. When we know our guests are settled and have what they need, we generally have little additional contact with them, unless they seek us out.
We're in a residential neighborhood. There are no services (shops, gas stations, etc.) in our neighborhood.
We are on the C route of the Centre Area Transportation Authority bus line. There are also several taxi companies in the area.
This was my 2nd year visiting. Kristen came out to greet me as soon as pulled in the driveway. The room was ready and just as comfy as my previous visit. It was just the right space for me during my visit to PSU for an event being held at the Penn Stater Conference center.
I enjoyed staying at the apartment, which was very clean and cozy. Kristen (email hidden), who welcomed me on my arrival and walked me through the particulars about the apartment. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others who need a comfortable and clean place to stay in State College.
Place was very clean and was very close to Bus stop. The bus goes about 5 times a day into state college. I would recommend this to anyone planning on staying near state college for more than couple of days on a budget. Thanks Kirsten and Matt had a great stay, all the best.
The place is quiet and clean. Slept really well. Kirsten was very hospitable. Would certainly stay there again. -Adnan.
I stayed with Kristen and Matt for 4 nights while waiting for my place to be completed at a newly built apartment complex in the area. I truly felt at home the entire time and never encountered any problems. Kristen had the apartment in perfect condition and had stocked it with all the essentials needed for my stay. I would definitely recommend others to stay with them and would not hesitate to stay there again if I needed to. Thanks Kristen and Matt!
Wow--Kristen was an awesome host. On arrival, we found fresh flowers, a personal note she'd printed out for us, and a set of Mapquest directions to the location of the wedding we had come to town to attend. The apartment was comfortable, spotless, and perfect for our needs, and she'd thought of everything: coffee, granola bars, extra toiletries...I am inspired by her example!
I was in State College for work for a weekend. Kristen and Matt's room was fantastic. It was clean, spacious, and well equipped. I was very comfortable and were I back in State College I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
This is (email hidden). I was in town for a very intense conference and I felt like I had my own little apartment. I could move right in. It's located in a quiet neighborhood close to, but not on campus and there's plenty of space for parking. The space itself is spacious, quiet and spotless. It was nice to have the option of the cookstove and the micro and Kristen provided coffee and breakfast goodies for me. And, there were fresh picked flowers on the table. Very nice touch!
This is the fourth time I've booked w/ ABNB and gets better each time. I love the idea of meeting new people---creating a community with folks you would never have the chance to meet otherwise. My only regret is that I didn't have more time to enjoy getting to know Kristen and Matt. Highly recommend this location and Kristen and Matt as hosts.
Kristen and Matt were there to welcome me and show me around. There were fresh flowers on the kitchen table to brighten my arrival. During my stay, Kristen checked in to be sure I had what I needed and reminded me of how to contact her and Matt with any questions. The location was convenient to the Penn Stater Hotel where my conference was happening (about 5 min drive) and Beaver stadium.
The apartment was the perfect size for my needs with a big soft bed. I did not need to use the kitchen to prepare any meals, but the kitchen seemed to be equipped with a variety of utensils, full size appliances and plates/cups.
I had my own key code to get into the apartment which made it simple to come and go as I needed.
If I was coming back to the State College area, I would stay with Kristen and Matt again. Thanks for a comfortable stay!
