Things to keep in mind:
This apartment is on a limited-service bus line (no weekend service) and is *not* within walking distance to downtown State College. Guests staying in the apartment would do best if they have a car. Apartment does *not* have a TV or air conditioning. This apartment is in the lower level of our home. We will be home during rental periods, and are looking for renters who are reasonably quiet after 10 p.m.
We do have one cat, but the cat has never entered the apartment.
No smoking in the apartment.
Interaction with Guests
The apartment is in the lower level of our home. We try to be home to greet our guests and make sure they're settled into the apartment OK. Once in a while, we can't be home to greet guests, in which case we make sure they know how to get into the apartment, and then try to connect once we get home. When we know our guests are settled and have what they need, we generally have little additional contact with them, unless they seek us out.
We're in a residential neighborhood. There are no services (shops, gas stations, etc.) in our neighborhood.
We are on the C route of the Centre Area Transportation Authority bus line. There are also several taxi companies in the area.
Two-night minimum stay. No smoking. No pets.
Great space off campus. Convenient to the hubub but not in it. Nice quiet neighborhood. Access was super simple and private. Keeping this on my list of places for future visits! Kristen was there to greet us but had sent directions on getting in if she wasn't available.
Kristen very friendly host, bed comfortable, place was clean and in a great neighborhood a couple miles from campus - would definitely stay there again and recommend it
My son stayed here for 3 nights while finishing up a research project at Penn State. Kristen promptly responded to inquiries. According to my son, the apartment was very clean and perfect for his needs. It was located in a residential neighborhood, and was a short drive by car to campus. He was surprised, and pleased, that Kristen even had the fridge stocked with milk for his coffee. Based on my son's experience, I would not hesitate to recommend Kristen and Matt's apartment.
This efficiency is a perfect place to unwind after a day in State College. Kristen & Matt were great host and know the area very well. The place was very clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again anytime I am traveling through State College.
This was my 2nd year visiting. Kristen came out to greet me as soon as pulled in the driveway. The room was ready and just as comfy as my previous visit. It was just the right space for me during my visit to PSU for an event being held at the Penn Stater Conference center.
I enjoyed staying at the apartment, which was very clean and cozy. Kristen was a wonderful host, who welcomed me on my arrival and walked me through the particulars about the apartment. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others who need a comfortable and clean place to stay in State College.
Place was very clean and was very close to Bus stop. The bus goes about 5 times a day into state college. I would recommend this to anyone planning on staying near state college for more than couple of days on a budget. Thanks Kirsten and Matt had a great stay, all the best.
About the Host, Kristen & Matt
We are easy-going people with some extra space to share. We enjoy meeting all the people that rent our apartment, but we give plenty of privacy and space so you can enjoy yourselves on your visit to State College. Once we get you checked in, you'll see very little of us, unless of course you need something or have a problem.
