Dick's Cabin on Long Pond is so close to the water that you can hear waves lap on the shore as you drift to sleep. Lay in bed and watch the sunrise or enjoy lake views while sipping coffee on the screened porch. A kitchenette is just off the bedroom. The living room has a working fireplace and eating area. The waterfront is just outside the cabin with fantastic swimming, small dock and the use of a canoe. Perfect for nature lovers, fishermen and those wanting a retreat from modern life.

The space
Enjoy a retreat from urban life in our old-fashioned fish camp style cabin built in the 1930's. It contains approximately 400 square feet of cuteness in two main rooms, bath and screened porch. Dick's accommodates up to two people in one queen bed. The newly renovated bedroom with Queen bed has a magnificent lake view. A new kitchenette with induction cook surface, microwave, mini-fridge, toaster over, coffee maker and basics for cooking is just off the bedroom. The front room has a working fireplace, couch, easy chair and eating area. The small screened porch has table for two. The bathroom has the best view ever with a tub/shower combo.

Dick's Cabin is named after our grandfather who along with Lili, his wife, owned and managed this property before us. Four generations of Conants have summered here and we have worked hard to preserve the natural surroundings.

The cabins are located within Cornish Point, a compound of 14 cottages and cabins. Our neighbor, Pinewoods Camp, a dance and music camp operates from mid June through Labor Day. You can hear their folk music coming through the woods until 11 PM each day. After Labor Day, the dancers are gone and the summer pond activity settles down. It is a beautiful and peaceful time to visit.

Dick's Cabin is available Memorial Day through mid October. I

Cornish Point is way back in the woods at the end of a private, sandy road. There are miles of walking and biking trails available in the area. Long Pond is a great swimming and fishing lake. It's a great location for birding (we have a local pair of eagles) and enjoying all kinds of wildlife.

There are miles of trails nearby that lead into woods, cranberry bogs and more lakes. It's a remote feel with eagles and wildlife nearby -- but only one hour from Boston and Providence and 40 min. to the nearest Cape beaches.

The Cornish Point Cottages are owned and managed by the Conant family. Four generations of Conants have summered on this property. We love its historic, rustic nature and work hard to keep it that way. The family photo in our profile is of Gerda Conant and her 5 children. The "kids" now own and manage the property as Cornish Point Cottages. We all pitch in. Susan lives farther away so she does the reservations, Peggy manages the cleaning staff, Donald does the plumbing repair and David is our carpentry expert. It takes a lot of work to keep the place going but we love it.
