My small cosy one bedroom flat comfortably sleeps two sharing. It is located on a quiet residential street, has a private internal courtyard parking space and is a short walk from the city centre. It's location has fantastic transport links to London and mainland Europe.
As a carpenter i have spent the last few months creating a space that has a strong theme based on reclaimed wood. It has a cosy living space with custom built stairs leading to a converted loft space. The bed space has cosy and unique feel to it, having designed and built the bed myself. The kitchen is small but has everything you require if you fancy a night in.
Guests will have full and private access to the entire flat and the private parking space. There is also wireless internet available in the flat for those who require it.
Please contact me to discuss anything about the flat, or if you require any further information regarding the surrounding area and local amenities.
As well as great local connections, the is an extensive variety of places to eat locally in Canterbury. If you would like to eat in, or simply buy some supplies, there is also huge supermarket about a 3 minute walk away. At the end of my road there is a recently converted pub that is now a very reasonably priced breakfast/brunch cafe.
If you fancy an alternative stroll into the city centre, you can join the 'Great Stour Way' (4 min walk away) which is a newly intoduced walk/cycle route following the Stour River. Opened in 2011 for Canterbury as a gateway to the Stour Valley and to the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

We enjoyed our stay at Jame's comfortable place which is in walking distance to the town centre and the cathedral. Also, to be able to park in front of Jame's garage is a great bonus. We received a very friendly and warm welcome by jame's parents who very generously had filled the fridge with generous helpings for breakfast.
Thanks James, had a great stay at your place. We were made to feel really welcome and if I'm back in the area would definitely stay again.
Hi there, we had a lovely time at James's place. It was a perfect location both to explore Canterbury town centre and to our East England road trip, a great base to go see Dover, Deal, Hastings and Brighton. James's place is very cosy and personal, and we really appreciated his creativity in the interior design of the flat. Our absolute favourite was the tent alike bedroom :-). And special thanks to James's parents who took care of our visit very kindly, waiting for us despite running a little late due to traffic, and even filling up the fridge. We definitely recommend.
Dear wendy, david and james,
Thank you so much for a wonderful stay! It was so kind of you to collect us from the bus station. The flat was perfect - every detail had been carefully thought out. The flat was so clean and warm and it was so nice to have breakfast provided! We had a delicious treaty meal at Deeson's near the cathedral (we got a taxi for £6 as we were very lazy) but the next day we enjoyed a lovely short walk (15min) into town along the wall. Thank you again - we'll definitely recommend it! Gen x
The flat was great and had everything we needed. Arrangements were even made to have us picked up at the train station. I would love to stay there again if I ever get back to Canterbury. Great place!!
James' flat is really nice. Very homely and comfortable. Good location about 15 minute walk into Canterbury. His parents were really nice and met us at the flat and the fridge was full of yoghurt, croissant, milk, juice, there was cereal and fresh fruit too. Highly recommended.
Wonderful flat and wonderful people! We didn't meet James, but his fabulous parents. His dad came by car to pick us up from the train station when it was pouring down and his parents had filled the fridge with lots of goodies for us. And the flat is awesome!
James appartment has been fantastic. It's very cosy. Staying there made me feel like home. It's very easy to get into centre of town and the cathedral. Takes less then 10 min walk. The hosts have also been very kind and accomodating. I would highly recommend it.
Me and my partner had an amazing time in James flat. It is very cosy, decorated really well and has a great vibe to it. Everything we needed was there and we met James's dad on arrival who had stocked up the fridge for us and gave us some info on the area. Really easy walk into town. Very comfy bed! Would really recommend staying here :)
Although we didn't get to meet James, one look at his DVD collection, (Eternal Sunshine, Y Tu Mama Tambien and Amelie among others), convinced us that we liked the same things and we certainly liked the apartment. Loved it in fact. Small but with everything you would ever need for a break in Canterbury with lots of evidence of James's creativity everywhere. And the loft bedroom was so comfortable. Fantastic artwork on the walls too. And the check in process was delightful as we were met with James's dad David who made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended and a great place to come back too after exploring the streets of Canterbury in the rain.
