The space
Our sites are virtually ready to go for singles and couples and, with modifications and extras, we can accommodate up to 12 people per site. Max 4 people in the canvas tent. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions! **For reservations November-March, the propane heater is included in your reservation fee.
Each off-grid site has a 12x16 covered platform with a 10x12 canvas side wall tent, a firepit and chairs, a cooking area with a grill and sink for washing up, a picnic table and benches, and a private bathroom with a composting toilet and solar shower bag.
THE PLATFORM TENT
The main tent is set up for 2 people, although 4 is possible. The sites can handle a max of 12 people, with the use of additional tents (BYO or you can rent some of ours). We provide an electronic camp guide to all of our campers that include our recommendations for things to do in the area, as well as camping tips and other handy info.
Inside the tent you will find a queen size bed, side tables, and a cafe table and chair set. We have put down foam flooring and a carpet for your comfort and provide numerous battery powered lights, lanterns and fans. In cold months we can add a propane heater to keep the chill away. We also have some games, maps of the area, decks of cards, and a fire extinguisher.
**Please note that we have a foam mattress with a freshly laundered cover, but we don't provide bedding as part of the basic reservation. Most of our campers prefer to bring their own, although we can provide bedding for the queen bed that can be rented through the farm website.
OUTDOOR ENTERTAINMENT AREA
Stepping outside the tent you'll find our long rainfly creates a covered porch where you can relax on our provided chairs. Solar lights over the porch help to illuminate the site at night.
There are additional chairs around the firepit and the firepit has a cooking grate so you can cook over your campfire. We provide one bundle of firewood (including kindling) per night with your reservation. We do sell additional firewood, if needed.
In our covered kitchen area you will find a picnic table and chairs, 5 gallons of drinking water, a clean up table that includes a foot operated pump sink with an additional 5 gallons of washing water, a grill (Wineberry has a propane grill), trash and recycling bins, grill tools, lighters, plus dish and hand soaps.
**Please note that we do not provide cooking pots and pans or plates, etc, unless you rent them through our farm website. Our Kitchen Kit rental is one of our most popular add-on requests.
OPEN SPACE
You will have the freedom to walk around the fields and woods around your site, as well as the large mowed area where you can enjoy yard games or set up additional tents. There are a lot of opportunities for stargazing and firefly watching in the evening!
We have both walking and driving paths down to our access to the Antietam Creek where you can enjoy the water, canoe, watch the hikers on the other side, or chat with all the tubers coming down the creek on warm summer days. Feel free to bring your folding chairs down to the creek as we don't have any permanent tables and chairs there in order to keep with the untouched feel and maintain the historic viewshed of the Antietam Battlefield.
Guest access
We will greet you on arrival and escort you through our farm fields to the Wineberry site. Regular passenger cars usually have no difficulty accessing the site, 4WD is only needed in times of very inclement weather (snow/ice/extreme rain events). We do not allow RVs on our sites, but can allow small tow-behind pop up campers if approved in advance.

This is an outdoors and rustic site- please know that involves outdoor and rustic things like bugs and wildlife. We LIKE these things! You can expect to see ants, gnats, lady bugs, stink bugs, cicadas, hawks. You might or hear see foxes, beavers, opossums, raccoons, and possibly a snake. You should prepare for ticks (although we treat the sites with cedar oil and their numbers have fallen greatly). It is exceedingly rare, but I have heard of a bear sighting in the area once every 20 years or so.
Our farm is a mile and a half from the town of Sharpsburg, MD, home of the Antietam National Battlefield (and Nutter's Ice Cream Shop). You will find the Appalachian Trail to our east and the C&O Canal to our west (10 minute drive to either). We are slightly remote, but close enough for you to restock and find daytime activities during your stay!
