My family and I really enjoyed staying at Joe's place. The photos are all accurate. The location is great, easy to access all parts of Maui. Joe was very quick and informative in his communication. All around, great!

We enjoyed our stay here and found the condo complex to be quiet and well located. We were impressed with the ample beach toys, towels and kids’ amenities (pack n play, strollers and games). It was a bit challenging with the rooms all open to each other finding a quiet spot for b…

Response from Joe:
Hello again Michelle, the open room Hawaiian architecture you mention is specifically designed to take advantage of trade winds, which blow through homes and cools them without the need for A/C. We added central A/C to our unit several years ago, to make our guests more comfortable. To this day, many homes in the Islands still do not have A/C, relying solely on the constant Maui breezes to cool the dwelling. Aloha...

Aloha!! We just returned from Maui and stayed in Joe’s condo for a week. We throughly enjoyed our stay. What can we stay - Amazing 180 degree views of the ocean & central location to go either side of the island. The condo is clean & well maintained. It comes well stocked with …

We loved it! Quick trip from the airport was a bonus, so after unpacking and changing, only 15 minutes back to Kahului to stock up on food and drinks. We ate out a lot also, so only 12 min to Kehei and another 12 to Wailea was convenient. And fun with the top off! The traffic …

Had a great time staying at this condo and the view is INCREDIBLE. I love that it is located in between Lahaina/Kaanapali and Kihei/Wailea. It’s a great location to get to either location fast. Just make sure you realize all the rooms have minimal privacy. The queen bed upstai…

Response from Joe:
Mahalo for the kind words about our condo. The openness of the bedrooms which you describe, is standard "Hawaiian architecture". Condos were constructed to take advantage of the Trade Winds which blow naturally through the unit to cool it, before central A/C was installed. You are not on the mainland, and unless you stay at pricey resort hotels/motels, most beachfront residential condos on Maui are built with an "open air" design. Aloha, Joe

We loved the view and the location. We were a little disappointed in the lack of privacy in the bedrooms. The wi-fi was weak and slow. We enjoyed staying there aside from these observations.

Response from Joe:
Aloha Rick mahalo for the kind remarks about our condo. Interestingly, I pay for the top level of DSL high speed Internet access available on Maui, through Hawaii Telcom. It is it nowhere near the speeds we have on the mainland, but it is certainly functional. Based upon your constructive criticism, I will call my ISP and see if they were experiencing any issues during your stay and ask if my throughput speed can be enhanced! The condo (and much of Hawaii) is built to take advantage of the Trade Winds which blow pretty much 24/7. Your condo is also the ONLY unit in our building with Central A/C, which we installed last year, should you prefer to close off the apartment from the outside. Respectfully, may I suggest a resort Hotel/Motel for your next visit to the Islands, as they are just about the only way to get a totally separate, closed off, bedroom as you describe. My condo layout is not unique and typical of the 'open air' architecture on Maui. Despite these Hawaiian idiosyncrasies, I am happy that you had a nice stay at our condo. Aloha, Joe

The condo was comfortable and in a perfect location. We enjoyed the beautiful sunrise every morning, right off the balcony! The private barb-que , swim and hot tub use was great! The condo was clean and worked well with our plans.

I asked Karen to marry me when we were on the summit of Haleakala (10,043'), which can be seen from our 4th floor, treetop lanai. We were married by a remote waterfall on Maui a year later. Maui is very special to us! Ma'alaea (Mah-ah-lie-yah) is a secluded, little village off t…
