Our private and comfortable 3 bedroom house sleeps upto 6 guests. Only 1 hours West of Hobart on 5000 acres. It has been in the family since 1862 and has over 10 000 sheep, a few cattle and 500 acres of irrigated pastures. It is all here to explore.

The space
28 gates is a little piece of luxury in Tasmanias beautiful Derwent Valley, one hours drive West of Hobart. It is located on historic 'Bloomfield' sheep property dating back to 1862 known for its sweeping pastures, rolling hills and trout- rich lakes.

The distinctive 28 gates building, which was originally stables and grain lofts, has been delicately transformed into premium accomodation.

28 gates sleeps up to six people,with three bedrooms,two bathrooms,two living areas and a fully appointed kitchen over two floors. There is an instant touch-button electric heat throughout as well as a beautiful woodheater, four flat screen tvs and many movies,idpod docking station,wireless broadband internet connection,scanner,printer , laundry, balcony,bbq,bathrobes,
toiletries,books, magazines,games and fishing gear etc.

Actvivities include: fishing in one of the 4 lakes with or without a guide,photography tuition,5 well marked walking tracks, extensive property tour, viewing native animals or sitting back and relaxing in the luxurious accommodation.

We are 30 minutes from the local shop and pub so for meals you can either cook in the fully appointed kitchen or choose from our extensive menu on our website prepared by our local chef and delivered to you.

Many activities and experiences in the area including: Mount Field National Park, Salmon Ponds, The Agrarian Kitchen, Sally Wises Cooking School,Nant Whisky distillery, The Wall, the Highland Lakes for enthusiastic fisherman just to name a few. We are happy to suggest places on arrival too.

Our place is very unique ,private and tranquil and will most definetly make you feel relaxed and revitalised at the end of your stay. We look forward to sharing our little piece of luxury with you.

With 28 gates and now The Latch opening in Hobart on the 21st of December 2018, we hope our guests get a taste of city and country life. We live on a farm at 28 gates and have 3 children. I love walking, exercise, spending time with family and friends, gardening, reading and the list goes on. We really hope our guests love our Airbnb places as much as what we do and get to explore our little piece of luxury too.
