Dedicated workspace

A common area with wifi that’s well-suited for working.
Built on the homestead of Simone Beck, by Paul and Julia Child. Beck and Child co-wrote the bestselling cookbook "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" Volumes I and II.

Sit by our salt water pool, sip rosé, and marvel at the gorgeous scenery of the French Riviera. A stunning jewel box that transports you back in time. With exquisitely designed Chef's kitchen, the only other one like it is in the Smithsonian museum in Washington D.C. Ours, you can cook in! Tucked away & close to everything

The space
As seen on TV. Literally! On Magnolia Network and Max's 'La Pitchoune: Cooking in France" and PBS's "The French Chef"

This cottage sits on well-maintained acres of gardens nestled just outside the community of Grasse. Easy access to beaches, perfume factories, grocery stores, and more. A secluded estate of a few homes, just off a main road. Feels far away and close to everything all at the same time.

La Pitchoune's 4 bedroom, 4.5 Bathroom property boasts glorious gardens (including a very large potager or veggie garden, and eggs daily from our chickens) and of COURSE TWO kitchens that are designed for cooking. Indoor AND outdoor.

Indoor has a LaCanche double oven and stove with five burners. Outdoor has a BBQ, a pizza oven, and a tuscan grill (wood fired stoves require assistance from our staff, and are not available in July or August). BBQ is available year-round.

Yes, the indoor kitchen still has the pegboard known and loved by fans the world over. The space can comfortably sleep 8 adults, and we have additional sleeping surfaces for children (up to 2 additional kids).

La Pitchoune was built by Julia and Paul Child in the 1960's and has hosted hundreds of famous food influencers over the years. In the 1990's Kathie Alex turned it into a cooking school, Cooking with Friends in France, and is now the home of Okay, Perfect's Cookery School.

Guest access
You'll have access to the entire house, the downstairs of the adjacent house, the famous kitchen, the pool, and all the gardens. Just for you.

The kitchen is marvelous, and is certainly a jewel! It is not a museum though. It is a functional, professional kitchen. And has been for years. Everything you need to cook is included, but nothing electronic. Just knives, pots, pans, baking dishes, etc.

Our property also boasts a gorgeous outdoor kitchen with pizza oven, BBQ, and tuscan grill.

YOUR RENTAL DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY COOKING CLASSES OR OTHER AMENITIES. Airbnb rental does not include concierge services, but we will gladly give you a map of our favorite places.

Other things to note
You absolutely need to rent a car to have access to the area, hire a driver for pretty much everyday, OR be very comfortable biking on backroads. The house is semi-rural, but only 10 minutes from many many villages.

There is a drop camera in the kitchen to ensure that the utensils of near priceless value aren't removed. The intact kitchen is similar to that of the one in the Smithsonian.

You'll be more than welcome to cook in the kitchen all you like! THAT is what it is there for. No footage will be kept longer than the duration of your stay. The camera is on intermittently only.

We make absolutely no guarantees regarding the WiFi. You may have it, you may not. 9 times out of 10? It’s splendid! But outages can occur, for days at a time. There is ample WiFi in nearby villages if that occurs.

You're in the heart of Provence food country. There are literally hundreds of restaurants, wineries, and markets without a 2 hour drive.
