The Space

Special "Summer Season" note: Beginning June 2014 through August 2014. There is a two-night minimum stay for Fri/Sat. Otherwise we accept one-night inquiries/requests.

We invite you to experience a relaxing and rejuvenating 'Retreat' or Get-A-Way in our Tree Home Suite on Whidbey Island WA...just 1 hour north of Seattle. Enjoy 'full-circle' views of rich woods in our 250 Sq ft Octagon Tree Home with a gorgeous cedar tree going straight up through the center of the living space! A solid stairway travels 13 ft above the ground, leading to the 10' x 12' covered deck and your doorway to heavenly rest and retreat!

Surround windows and skylights in the roof peak allow you to feel what it's like to be completely immersed in a beautiful, serene, healing forest of cedar, fir, hemlock, maple, alders, varieties of fern...and oh...enjoy watching and listening to our 'resident' deer, owls, ravens, eagles and many other birds. Look up through the skylight roof peak to behold a seemingly unending kaleidascope view of tree limbs circling their trunks as they reach high in the sky.

Be sure to see all the photos posted above including views of the beach, water and stunning sunsets over the Olympic Mountains.....easily accessible, less than 1/2 mile away.

This gem is best suitable for 2 adults and up to 2 children. Three adults can manage better than 4 because the hide-a-bed is a double - and has a so-so mattress (as hide-a-beds go), accommodating 1 adult or 2 children best.

Accommodations in the one Tree House we have include Queen Bed, Double (Hide-a-bed) Sofa, Desk, Dining Table, Free Wi-Fi, TV moniter for viewing DVD's, Fridge, Microwave, Coffee/Tea/Water, Chest of Drawers ~~ Thermostatically controlled radiator heater AND 'Fireplace'/heater adds warmth and ambiance. Dishes and silverware included for prep and eating quick meals, warmed up left-overs, etc. We just don't have 'cooking' facilities per say.

A healthy and tasty continental breakfast is provided to enjoy at your leisure. Or, another option that can be discussed/negotiated for an additional donation: While you're snuggled up all cozy...enjoy a hot, gourmet, mostly organic breakfast served to you in the Tree House.

Your own private (and VERY cute) Shower House just a few footsteps away (approx 20 from the bottom of the Tree House stairway) provides a shower, sink and state-of-the-art, no-odor composting toilet. We do have a porta-potty (marine type) on the deck of the Tree House for the middle-of-the-night needs so you don't have to trudge down in the dark to the composting toilet in the Shower House.

Please read the house rules before you reserve to see if this type of accommodation is right for you.

  • Our son and his new bride visiting from Missouri enjoyed there overnight stay. A memory to last a while. While at the Tree House, during the evening, 4 deer walked under the house. Of course, pix were taken. Lynn was the most gracious host. Will recommend the experience to anyone.

thanks again Lynn and Ken for a great weekend.

  • Took my wife here for a surprise Valentine's day getaway, and she was absolutely thrilled when we reached there. It's a cozy little place with all the basic amenities/comfort one needs. Super romantic setting with unbelievably great hosts. Will highly recommend for a romantic getaway. :)

I would definitely suggest it to anyone looking for a unique and lovely experience. We will definitely be doing this again!

  • I have no complaints about anything, only accolades to report! Everything is as true as described and shown here - the location is off the beaten path just enough to feel like you are remote, but a few minutes drive from amenities. The treehouse itself is beautiful and felt like a luxuriously fancy yurt! Lynn and Ken were super helpful and available to answer questions or take care of anything we needed. My friend and I have already put a weekend on our calendars for next year to return and make a tradition of it!

  • We had a wonderfully relaxing time at the tree house. We also appreciate the warm hospitality and learned about the history of the place. We cannot wait to return this summer. Thank you Lynn!

    January 2014
  • This was the perfect place to have a long, relaxing weekend: breakfast delivered to your doorstep, nature surrounding you and everything you could possibly need/want (like a nice bottle of wine) a short trip away.

The accommodations were great - only a tad on the chilly side given the season. Lynn and Ken were very friendly and we'd definitely recommend checking this place out.

    January 2014
  • Lynn and Ken are extremely hospitable. During our first night the weather was quite blustery, to say the least, and they were sweet enough to offer for us to stay in the main house should we feel unsafe. They gave great info for how to best get around and places to check out during our stay. Overall, we had a great time and would love to visit both Lynn and Ken as well as the tree house again.

  • One of a kind tree house experience in the heart of Whitbey Island. 360 forrest view, breakfast included, highly recommended.

Hi, My husband, Ken, and I currently live on Whidbey Island, WA...Ken's been here all his life...obviously knows a LOT about the area. I was raised in Southern CA and lived in Wisconsin 28 years prior to Whidbey. I was a registered nurse for 12+ years and now choose to be a Health and Wellness Coach, Nutritionist, Massage Therapist and Energy Healer...and Owner/Operator of "A Tree House Retreat" Vacation Rental/B & B. My husband and I love to be active, hang out in nature and 'live' vibrant and healthy...My passion is healing and wellness. My joy is providing education, mentoring....and a healing space for others to access healing, rejuvenation and overall wellness too. Ken and I are really pretty down to earth, quiet and comfortable folks who like to explore nature/wildlife, hike and camp in remote areas and around small towns. We like snuggling up together to watch movies in our 'down' time, cook and eat healthy and tasty food, listen to music, dance a bit. We're pretty easy-to-please and go-with-the-flow, love to be social and visit with others too, very much, when it's appropriate.
