About This Listing
We invite you to experience a relaxing and rejuvenating 'Retreat' or Get-A-Way in our Tree Home Suite on Whidbey Island WA...just 1 hour north of Seattle. Our nurturing gift to you is providing delicious and nutritious continental breakfasts every morning you are here. You'll surely transend the bustle of busy life and be transformed as you immerse yourselves in this incredibly peaceful and healing environment. Enjoy 'full-circle' views of rich woods in our 250 Sq ft Octagon Tree Home with a gorgeous cedar tree going straight up through the center of the living space! A solid stairway travels 13 ft above the ground, leading to the 10' x 12' covered deck and your doorway to heavenly rest and retreat!
Surround windows and skylights in the roof peak allow you to feel what it's like to be completely immersed in a beautiful, serene, healing forest of cedar, fir, hemlock, maple, alders, varieties of fern...and oh...enjoy watching and listening to our 'resident' deer, owls, ravens, eagles and many other birds. Look up through the skylight roof peak to behold a seemingly unending kaleidoscope view of tree limbs circling their trunks as they reach high in the sky.
Be sure to see all the photos posted above including views of the beach, water and stunning sunsets over the Olympic Mountains.....easily accessible, less than 1/2 mile away.
This gem is best suitable for adults, but we do allow children 12 and older too. Three adults can manage better than 4 because the hide-a-bed is a 'half-way-between-twin-and-double' size. However it has slats and an excellent quality foam mattress so it does not have the typical hide-a-bed 'bars' to contend with, nor does it sink in the middle. We provide single-sized, thick and dense foam pads and linens when needed for extra people. Please feel free to ask us how we can best meet your unique needs.
Accommodations in the one Tree House include: Queen Bed, "Sort of" Double Hide-a-bed Sofa (see paragraph above), Desk, Dining Table, Free Wi-Fi, TV moniter for viewing DVD's/VHS. A thermostatically controlled radiator heater AND electric 'Fireplace' add warmth and ambiance. We provide a fridge (with freezer), microwave, dishes and silverware for prep and eating simple meals, warmed up left-overs, etc. We just don't allow 'cooking', using hot plates or fry pans, etc....
The fire pit may be used to enjoy a campfire and grill or roast hamburgers, hotdogs and marshmallows. Substantial cooking here with your own cooking equipment is not encouraged, because that would require more extensive 'clean-up' than just a few dishes and utensils Our drain field is small and we want to keep the flow of gray water into it 'frugal' and biodegradable as much as possible.
We provide a tasty continental breakfast to enjoy at your leisure.
Your own private (and VERY cute) Shower House just a few footsteps away provides a shower, sink and state-of-the-art, no-odor composting toilet. We do have a porta-potty (marine type) on the deck of the Tree House for the middle-of-the-night needs so you don't have to trudge down in the dark to the composting toilet in the Shower House.
Please read the house rules before you reserve to see if this type of accommodation is right for you.
Please park in the designated area next to the short path to the Tree House. Easy slip-on type shoes would be great to equip yourself with as this is a 'no shoes abode'. This helps keep the off-white colored carpeting and sofa clean.
No smoking. No pets.
Please turn lights and electric fireplace off when leaving the premises for any length of time. The Tree House heats up very fast, but is difficult to retain the heat due to the many windows, skylights and over-all amount of surface area exposed to the outside air.
We have very quiet and peaceful surroundings. We have quiet neighbors in adjacent properties, and since any sound travels very easily, we have "quiet hours" between 9:00 PM and 8 AM. Thank you very much for respecting this.
The facilities in the shower house are very accommodating, however, the smaller sized water heater and small 'ish' drain field requires conscious and frugal mindfulness.
And again, we provide a fridge, microwave, dishes and silverware for prep and eating simple meals, warmed up left-overs, etc. We just don't allow 'cooking', using hot plates or fry pans, etc....
We thank you so much for your respect and consideration. Abiding by these 'house rules' allows us to keep our rates low and affordable for more people and families with kids to enjoy a memorable Tree House Adventure!
Lyn and Ken are a great couple who have created a sweet and cozy treetop retreat. They were kind and accommodating. The treehouse and shower facilities were very clean and comfortable. We had a fun and relaxing time and would definitely recommend it!
I was looking for a special place to stay for my reunion with my 20-year-old daughter, and we found it at Lynn and Ken Berry's Treehouse. It was unique, beautiful, and comfortable. The bed was the best I slept on during my vacation. The 360* views, the skylights to watch stars through, plenty of space, and the delicious continental breakfasts just made it better. The weather turned cool and we'd only brought light weight clothes, so sometimes we felt a little cool, but we were comfortable. Several times my daughter and I sat on the private porch and watched the birds and deer in the woods below us.
The treehouse is high enough to be fun, but not so high as to scare you. A hummingbird had built her nest right outside the dining room window, and she with her two, tiny chicks were fascinating to watch. Deer often browsed on the lawn right below the porch. Lovely.
The bathhouse was easy to use, super clean, and warm.
Lynn and Ken were a delight to meet, and made us feel quite welcome. We plan to come back for sure. I highly recommend this Treehouse.
Lynn and Ken are so welcoming and their tree house is so charming! So much so that I visited two weekends in a row, I just couldn't stay away! The beach being in walking distance is great and everyone I visited with had a blast! Thanks for the magical times!
Lynn and Ken were such accommodating hosts! They were very friendly and welcoming yet gave us privacy to really enjoy the seclusion of the tree house. We loved the proximity to the beach! Also, the breakfasts they provided were delicious. Can't wait to go back.
This was exactly what I was needing! Got away for the weekend to spend an anniversary and have family come visit while at the tree house. Lynn and Ken are such a great couple and are very blessed to have such a property that they can share with the world.
The treehouse is so charming and to be nestled in the trees is now a life long memory! I can't wait to go back!
Lynn was attentive to our every need, and the treehouse was super cosy. Perfect for a summer getaway!
My wife and I had a very relaxing and restful weekend at Lynn and Ken's tree house. Lynn and Ken were fantastic hosts, and the tree house is nothing short of magical. Lynn and Ken were both very kind, generous, thoughtful, and helpful. They are the kind of people that you can sit and chat with for hours and not even notice. The property is very clean and nestled right in the forest. A few different beaches and towns were just short drives away. We have already shared the listing with some friends and family, and we will definitely be back.
