Nestled on over 100 acres in the foothills of Pikes Peak, our Lodge is great for small family reunions and relaxing vacations. The Lodge provides seclusion and privacy with easy access to Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs.
Fully furnished, 3 story, 7 bedroom (5 Queen/2 King), 3.5 bath, 2 basement bunk rooms (9 beds). Sleeps up to 22 max. Full kitchen, outdoor hot tub, incredible mountain views, Wi-Fi, and TV will be more than enough for your group to enjoy their stay!
The space
Waltons Mountain Lodge is located on private property. You'll eventually leave the paved road and travel on a dirt road about a quarter of a mile and past an empty horse corral, with both our Lodge and Cottage property on the right side of the road. It can occasionally be difficult to find the first time, especially in the dark, but keep following the directions on your phone and you will arrive at the Lodge for a beautiful view and a fun stay.
There is NO central air. There are ceiling fans in every bedroom (except the bunk basement rooms), there are box fans throughout the house. There are also two new ceiling fans in the great room on the main floor. There is a 22' tall rock fireplace in open high ceiling living room. Baseboard heaters in each room. Do not rest anything on or near the baseboard heaters. All thermostats around the house are for heat only!
The large full kitchen is open to the dining room and the living room. The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, refrigerator, microwave, pots, pans, dishes, silverware and oven.
Washer and Dryer provided in the basement. Ping Pong table, Foosball table and cornhole provided and located in the basement main area. Please take care of our things as if they were your own!

Bunk rooms will not be accessible to you during your stay. If bunk rooms are not used, max guests in the house is 14. Only 14 towels will be provided, etc. Please feel free to ask me if you have questions or have 14 adults and 1 or 2 young children that will sleep in their parent's room. I am always willing to discuss options with you. *We need the correct number of guests staying at the property on the booking.*

You have access to the entire lodge, the back deck with your private hot tub, two picnic tables and a gas grill and the front deck/lawn area. You can park multiple cars in the parking area in front of the lawn area and to the left of the Cottage building. Please leave the parking spaces in front of the Cottage open to those guests at all times. The dumpster for Lodge and Cottage guests is located across the dirt road. DO NOT FORGET TO REPLACE THE BAR LOCK AND PIN/SCREW or the bear will come and trash will be everywhere. Thank you. Feel free to hike the mountain, and be courteous of others on the mountain.
Other things to note
Be advised that Waltons Mountain is adjacent to rugged national forest. Wild animals frequent the area, including bears, mountain lions, and bobcats. Do not leave food and trash outside. After putting trash in the dumpster, make sure you replace the bar lock and pin/screw to hold to bar lock in place. Be on guard while hiking in the area. Stay in groups and do not let children or pets run around without adult supervision.
*Dogs only. Two dogs maximum. Although service animals are free, I still need to know if you have an animal at the house with you. Please see Airbnb’s rules regarding service animals. An emotional support animal is not considered a service animal and the pet fee is required.*

The Lodge is located behind our Cottage. Consider booking both properties for your family vacation if you have a larger group and need more space. Max occupancy in the Lodge is 22 people. If your party rents both the Cottage and the Lodge, do not remove any items from the Lodge and take them to the Cottage or vice versa. The Lodge and Cottage are two separate properties, please help us keep each well stocked for the next guests.
The Walton family has lived on this 100 acre property for three generations and have enjoyed the beautiful views and endless outdoor activities that life on the mountain provides. We are passionate about sharing the beauty of our property with others who wish to experience the beautiful Manitou foothills and look to provide quaint comfortable accommodations for any and all looking to explore the Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs area. We spend time sharing our mountain home with our growing families and making updates, both big and small to the property. Our property provides a unique experience to those looking to visit the area due to its location on nearly 100 acres of private property. This gives our guests plenty of privacy while also being located just minutes away from downtown Manitou Springs. Both our Lodge and Cottage provide a feeling of being secluded in the mountains of Manitou Springs allowing for our guests to spend their days down in the city, and when that becomes too much, they have the option to retreat back up the hill to the privacy and quiet of the foothills. In addition to the Lodge and Cottage, there are three other homes on the mountain.
There may be guests at the Cottage which is located in front of the Lodge. Please make sure they have the designated parking spots available in front of their building free at all times and be respectful of others that may be on the mountain. ** Please drive slowly and carefully through the narrow streets in the neighborhood up the mountain road.
We love our property. You may see zip liners behind the Lodge, other cars belonging to the three other houses on the mountain and some trucks that use the city water road that is on our land. You will see and enjoy wildlife on the mountain. Deer, foxes, mountain lions and bears! PLEASE BE BEAR AWARE and know what to do if you come across a bear (or mountain lion) while hiking on our property. Please lock up the dumpster every time you throw away trash with the bar lock and pin/screw as this helps us keep the bears away!
TV is Samsung TV with access for the basic channels that come with Samsung TV plus ability to access your own accounts through apps like Netflix, Disney+, YouTube TV, etc. Dish/Cable TV not provided. Don't forget to log out of any personal accounts you log into during your stay.
There are times when the hot tub or another feature in the house may have an issue after someone's stay, we do our best to remedy any issue as quickly as possible but there are times we are unable to quickly fix something before the next group arrives. Unfortunately, these problems arrive randomly and are out of our control. Refunds will not be issued if these very rare issues happen before or during your stay. Thank you for your understanding and for doing your part to keep our house cared for and report any issues as quickly as possible.
If you let us know of any issues the moment they happen rather than wait until you check out or not inform us at all, we can get a head start to resolve the issue and we really appreciate that.
