The Space


Great Views, Great Amenities, Great Price

The Shangrila is a spacious 450+ sqft apartment with Lanai/Balcony on the 20th Floor of the Fairway Villa Complex. It boasts an Ocean/Diamond Head/Alawai Canal Golf Course View and has everything you would need to come relax and enjoy a few weeks or even months in Hawaii. It is located in downtown Waikiki on the corner of 2345 Alawai Blvd with a cross street of Walina. A convenient location, with the food pantry grocery store across the street, bus, food, shopping, dining, a block away and the beach, zoo, Kapiolani park, a mere 10 minute walk away. For the safety of our guests, the building has 24 hour security with Key card secured doors.

Amenities include, Pool on the top Deck, (29th floor) , Hot Tub, Sauna, showers, and two large stainless steel gas barbecues for guests to enjoy.

There is a trash chute right next to my unit so you don't have to walk far to throw out the garbage and your recyclables.

There is a washer dryer in the unit for added convenience. The unit is furnished with a table, two single beds that form a king or they can be separated, dresser, tv/dvd, Fully equipped kitchen with all the needed cups plates, pans etc. Full size fridge, toaster, microwave, and coffee maker with grinder.

As an added bonus, FREE High Speed Internet, and FREE long distance calling within the Continental US and Canada is provided.

Normal Rates & Terms
$125/nt 13.962% Hawaiian Taxes + $110.00 cleaning fee + $250 refundable security deposit.

Units will remain on the rental market until a deposit is received.

$250 deposit due to reserve the room. Full payment is due 90 days before arrival

The Neighborhood

The neighborhood is really well located in Waikiki.
You are right on the Alawai canal side of Waikiki so you have the opportunity for a wonderful night or day stroll along the canal watching the other health enthusiasts or the practicing paddle boat racers on the water.
You are 10 minutes from the Beach, the Food Pantry is right across the street, and Shopping, Dining and Restaurants are all within reach.

The Bus system is named you guessed it. "The Bus"
It costs $2 for a one way ticket and goes all over the island!

  • Mike's place is awesome! Perfect location, just walk around and you can find many stores, restaurants and only 2 blocks until Waikiki beach. Mike is a great guy always trying to help.

  • Mike is a very good host. He keeps in contact and makes sure that everything is alright and that you will have a pleasant stay. The place was as advertised, small but clean and central.

  • We enjoyed our stay at the Fairway Villa very much. The condo was clean, conveniently located with amenties that made our time there a pleasure.

    We appreciated and used the kitchen to enjoy several meals cooked at "home" instead of eating out every day. Having laundry facilities in the unit was a definite plus. The views from the balcony facing the east was panoramic.

    Shops, restaurants and a market was just a block away. We walked to the beach in 15 minutes with a beach chair and umbrella we used from the condo.

    Mike provided precise information on access to the property and we had no problems accessing the unit.

    We join the numerous folks who left complimentary comments in their guest book.

    Mahalo Mike and Nicky for helping make our visit enjoyable. We hope the unit will be available the next time we go to O'ahu.

  • We stayed for 2 weeks, enjoyed the place very much, everything you need is there, Mike is very helpful, everything important in Waikiki is in walking distance. We loved the balcony and we were sad we had to leave for the rest of our stay because of another booking Mike had excepted before us.

  • Das Appartement war soweit sauber, jedoch der Duschvorhang sehr dreckig. Weiterhin begrüßten mich Karkalaken. Ich habe mich bei Mike per Mail gemeldet und er ist dann am Abend gekommen und hat den Duschvorhang ausgetauscht. Er stellte mehrere Kakarlaken fallen auf. Am Morgen bemerkte ich, dass der Wasserhahn von der Dusche nicht funktionierte und ich nicht Duschen konnte. Ich schrieb Mike erneut eine Mail und bat ihn, mir mitzuteilen, wie ich Wasser in der Dusche bekommen kann. Mike hat nicht auf meine Mail reagiert. Ich habe dann immer die Dusche von dem kleinen Schwimmbecken oben auf dem Dach benutzt. Ansonsten war das Appartement ok. Es ist jedoch schon sehr abgewohnt, die Bezüge von den Stühlen sind kaputt. Die Küchenchenschräncke sind auch sehr in die Jahre gekommen und die Betten sind gut zum Schlafen, man kann sich jedoch nicht bequem an das Kopfende hinsetzen und an die Wand lehnen, dann rollt das Bett von der Wand weg. In meinen Augen ist es eine einfache zweckmäßige Unterkunft. Was mich ärgert, das ich 150,00 € für die Nacht bezahlt habe und für diesen Preis etwas anderes erwartet habe. Für mich ist das Preiswucher, ich kann jedem nur empfehlen nicht so viel Geld für das Appartement zu bezahlen, es gibt genug andere und vor allem bessere Unterkünfte, für mich kommt diese Unterkunft auf keinen Fall mehr in Frage.

  • We would definitely recommend staying at Mike and Nicky's place!

    It is in walking distance from Waikiki beach, shopping opportunities and supermarkets on Kuhio Avenue.
    The kitchen is well equipped even though we often went to one of the many breakfast places nearby. The appartment was very clean.
    Great location in the middle of Waikiki hence do expect some noise but with the windows closed and A/C on you can block it out.

    The building has a fantastic roof top with pool and a hot tub– and marvellous views onto the city and Diamond Head.

    Correspondence with the host went really well, unfortunately we were too busy for a meeting that Mike was so kind to suggest.

  • We stayed at Shangri La for a week while visiting Waikiki, it was so convenient to get around, we bought food from Food Pantry across the street and cooked in the Villa few times. It's also got spices and all kinds incredient, cooking ware and it's got the whole nine yard...If your tired of cooking Kuhio is right around the corner where all the fast food and fine dinning, Beach is just 6-8 mins away really close by, guess there is nothing to complain. Thanks to Mike and Nicky for keeping us companied and Mike has being very helpful when we needed help. We will definately come back again or refer to other friends to stay at this lovely suite which is perfect for two. MAHALO

  • A wonderful time in Hawaii, now relived only through our 500+ pictures. The apartment is an excellent value for location, views and walking/public-transport convenience. It was especially nice to have some beach essentials handy for our day trips and the unit is nicely appointed with most everything needed for our 9 day stay. We very much enjoyed the roof top barbeques for some great sunset/cool evening dinners. We rented a car for two days which gave us the freedom to roam the North shore & Windward sides of the island. Parking is more problematic than we had hoped yet we managed one over night. More than that and it's best to consider the additional cost to park. The rental company suggested a place near their location but a bus ride away. This site might help - (website hidden). We also managed the two twin beds but prefer not to be separated next time. Much appreciation to our hosts for making the (email hidden) for visitors.

  • We stayed here for two weeks and thoroughly enjoyed the stay.
    Mike was very responsive and the condo was exactly as described. This was our first time to use airbnb and I was very glad we did.
    We would definitely recommend this condo to others and would stay here again anytime. Everything is as described and very comfortable. There are a lot of extras in the condo too, ranging from a boogie-board to cling film all of which made staying here even better. The location is great and the public spaces are very well kept. The pool on the roof is small but the view is fantastic (I used it pretty much everyday) it is also very clean and well kept. The only down side was that we did find the street noise loud at times despite being on the 20th floor, I suppose that's the price you pay for being right in the center of Waikiki. This would however definitely not put us off staying here again.

    We had a great stay at Mike & Niky's condo. You could not ask for a better location...minutes walking distance to Waikiki beach and ALL the greatest spots on the main strips.

    Awesome balcony with Ala Wai + Ocean view
    Full, standard supermarket on same block
    Great roof top pool

    Seriously---excellent value for location. We will go back and I highly recommend.
