A full-size bed in a private room in a cute little cottage on a quiet street, just two miles from the ocean, the redwoods and Lake Earl. Enjoy vegetarian fare in the mornings.
The cottage is at the end of a quiet street in an older part of town but close to the hospital and shopping. Guests will share a bath and may use the kitchen and laundry room.
I enjoy entertaining, and I'm happy to share my home with you. If you want privacy, I will accomodate that. I can also offer you a complimentary tour of Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park for either the tourist or the naturalist. Also, I will be happy to make you a vegetarian sourdough pizza!
Crescent City is surrounded on all sides by some of the most beautiful scenery to be found in the state, including the ocean, the redwoods, the largest lagoon in the state (Lake Earl) and one of the last natural, unobstructed rivers left in California (Smith River).
I do have cats, but they are kept out of the guest room and will interact only by invitation!
Staying with Patree was my first experience with Airbnb and I don't think it could have been any better! Patree is a warm, welcoming woman who made us feel at home right away. She is a wonderful hostess and if you are visiting Crescent City this is an amazing place to stay. Thanks Patree!
We had an absolutely fantastic ovenight stay at Patree's on our way from San Francisco to Portland. We arrived quite late but Patree was really welcoming and waited for us with a great vegetarian pizza ready to be eaten!!! Patree is a wonderful host and a very interesting person to talk to: she knows so many things about the area and gave us lots of useful advice about interesting places on our way and what roads to drive to get most spectacular views. We were leaving early in the morning but Patree was kind enough to make us a great great breakfast with two kinds of home-made bread!!! Her house is really beautiful and special, two cats are adorabe and a guest bed more than comfy! We would definitely come once more and would advise Patree's home to anyone who is looking for a great experience! Thank you, Patree =)
Patree is a total charmer... she sneaks up on you and steals your heart ! And this part of California is so beautiful, breathtaking. I would love to go back ! smiles !
Patree is everything you could ever hope for in a host! We got caught up in fierce storm on our way up to her house, and had to call that we would be arriving two hours later than expected. Not only was Patree extremely understanding and accommodating, but she made sure we had a delicious gluten-free cauliflower-crust pizza waiting for us! My wife, 2 year old son, and I were very comfortable and felt like we were visiting a long-time friend. My son Luca loved Patree's house and especially Smokey Jo the cat! We slept well...so well that we awoke an hour later than we had planned, and once again we were met with some fabulous food...Scottish bannock oat cakes! Patree is a wonderful cook, and an incredibly warm, insightful, and entertaining host. We would definitely go out of our way to stay with her again, and we would recommend you do the same if you have the opportunity.
We spent a couple of nights with Patree and had a great time. The room was really comfortable and Patree was very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. And she makes a great sourdough pizza!
Patree was a most interesting and lovely host. She welcomed us into her home with pizza at the ready and provided a lovely room with movies at our disposal. With her knowledge of the surrounding area and of redwoods she helped us a plan our drive the next day with optimal viewing after feeding us delicious banana bread. I would definitely go back and recommend anyone to stop by and stay with Patree for a truly unique and lovely experience.
Oh my goodness, this is just the absolute best way to check out the Redwoods! Patree is an absolute redwood devotee and if you are at all interested, she will let you know of some of the history and uniqueness of Jedediah Smith State Park and some truly beautiful and awe-inspiring hikes and trees to investigate. She's been living in Crescent City for 10 years because she wanted to learn all there is to learn about old growth redwoods and she seems to be doing a bang-up job.
She's also an amazing cook and made us a delicious sourdough pizza with a choice of delectable toppings, as well as some addictively delicious banana bread and oat bread for breakfast. She also wouldn't let us lift a hand to help, contribute or clean up.
On top of all of that, she is such a unique, interesting, friendly and caring individual - I felt like we made a good friend even in the short time we were there. DO NOT MISS!!
Patree was a warm wonderful host! Even without all the thoughtful things she did it would have been a great stay. It was only for one night but the room was clean and charmingly appointed; her house had the eccentricity and character you hope to find in a bnb. I can't eat gluten, so instead of a traditional pizza, Patree made me and my friend a delicious pizza with a cauliflower crust! She even went as far as to make us a nummy hot cereal style polenta for breakfast. I left my iPod at her house and she scrambled calling my phone and driving to the beach to find us before I realized and came back for it! She is a gem and I will be back, hopefully with more time for her to give a guided tour of the redwoods! Thanks Patree!
Patree was an amazing host! My boyfriend and I stayed with her for a few days and could not of had a better experience. Her house had so much character it made it very comfortable to stay in. She also served us her famous pizza and bread, which was delicious! Not only did she provide us her house, she gave us a nice insight on the Redwoods right by her house. I wish we were able to stay longer because it was such an amazing experience. I definitely recommend staying with Patree!
Very, very positive experience. Patree is a remarkably warm and wonderful person and I would highly recommend her. From our first contact, she was accommodating, thorough and quick to reply. My son and his friend were flying in from different locations to spend a week seeing the redwoods. Due to weather, their flights were delayed and they were left scrambling and Patree did everything she could to help them. When I think about the perfect airbnb experience, this would be it. Thank you for everything, Patree.
