Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
A romantic escape for no reason? Maybe a special Easter egg hunt for the season? For a small fee, I can fill plastic eggs, hide inside/outside for family fun! We welcome to the 1066 Hastings House, responsible 25 yr olds and up, 1-2 well behaved house trained dogs. Hosting, up to maximum of 5 guests.
From the dining & great room, enjoy the sun rising. As the day draws to a close, snuggle up by the fireplace in the greatroom and enjoy the sunsets. Watch the lights of night wake up over the Bay.

The space
The house has an open concept feel, just right for soaking up all that the lake and country offer. A large deck facing the lake has ample seating during summer to fall and a grill. Walk to the end of the driveway, the lake is waiting for you! Spend time on the lakeshore. Bring your watershoes.
***This was my parents' home and has been left to us, and it is our honor to care for their home. My father was a shop teacher and woodworker, my mother, a kindergarten teacher and quilter. The home is filled with their artwork and it MUST be treated with care. Thank you
***We do have a slight sulfur odor, we provide fresh drinking water to get you started, please bring additional. Our water is safe for washing dishes, showers and bathroom needs. Thank you for understanding.

Guest access
Any rooms that are unlocked within the home are for our guests. We do have a garage, not available to guests. The apple orchard is not our property, and my bees hang out here, best not to walk here.
***Please, DO NOT bring your personal laundry from home to use our washer/ dryer, we are not a laundry mat. ****Washer and dryer only available for week or longer stays. Thank you.

Other things to note
***As stated in the space area that we do have a slight sulfurious odor to our water. Living on an island of bedrock has a downside. We leave some drinking water to get you started. We are sorry for the inconvenience. You will need to bring more with you.
We do not own the apple orchard that belongs to the neighbors, yet my bees do live back their in the hives, not a good place to wander in.p

Neighborhood highlights

During the summer, many-lots in fact, people are here, traffic is busy. Fall gets less busy and slows down. Winter, quiet and waiting for ice for ice fishing. All seasons are so beautiful on the water.

My work: Gene is a Mason by trade and now a builder. I am a retired teacher turned beekeeper and together we are growers of a berry farm.
Thank you for looking us up! I retired after 33 years of teaching in June 2022! Teaching Kindergarten has been my life for the last 12 years, so you will find a children's corner in each bnb. My husband, Gene and I have been happily married for a little over two years. We have seven beehives that I keep nearby the bnb's. This year I am able sell my organic raw honey, see picture for size/prices. YUM! Gene and I have started a shed building business.... keep us in mind. We have 13 acres of land here on Point Peninsula, where we have started the first and only u pick Berry patch in Jefferson Co. We should have berries next summer. Please look us up upon your return!! We welcome you to the Point, as we all call it, please let us know how to make your stay the best it can be!!
