This heritage home, redesigned by a renowned architect and fully restored in 2023, seamlessly combines colonial charm with modern architecture. The two-story building features original, colorful pasta tile floors, soaring six-meter-high ceilings, exposed wooden beams, and stunning handcrafted doors.
The house comfortably accommodates six guests with its three air-conditioned double bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom.
Every room boasts a stylish modern interior, carefully blended with colonial details such as the much-loved pasta tile floors of Mérida. Each piece of furniture is handcrafted by local artisans, often using Mexican hardwoods like Tzalam, also known as Mayan walnut, and Parota, a beautiful burl wood.
The careful restoration of this house is evident in every corner.
Living Room
The spacious and inviting living room on the first floor of the main house is the perfect place to relax. A cozy seating area and a large 55-inch 4K Ultra HD TV make it ideal for family gatherings.
This part of the home retains its original colonial charm, with beautifully restored pasta tile floors, thick walls, and soaring ceilings with exposed wooden beams. Just like in the old days, two large ceiling fans keep the space cool and comfortable.
Dining Kitchen
The large dining kitchen, complete with a central cooking island, offers everything you need to prepare and enjoy meals together. It features an induction stove with four cooking zones, an oversized refrigerator with an ice compartment for keeping ice cream on hand, and a built-in ice cube maker to keep drinks refreshingly cold.
Additional appliances include a microwave, a capsule coffee machine, a toaster, and all the necessary cookware and tableware. The massive dining table next to the kitchen island comfortably seats six guests, while large ceiling fans ensure a pleasant indoor climate.
Essentials such as pepper, sugar, salt, and wine glasses are already provided. For convenience, there is also a free drinking water dispenser at the entrance of the house.
Bedrooms
All three air-conditioned bedrooms are located on the second floor and feature comfortable queen-sized beds. If you prefer natural airflow, each room is also equipped with a ceiling fan, so you always have the choice. Each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom, offering privacy and comfort.
The master bedroom is additionally equipped with a 55-inch 4K Ultra HD Samsung TV, a work corner, and a cozy window bench with panoramic views. One bedroom offers flexible sleeping arrangements, as it can be set up either as a double bed or two single beds.
A launderette is just a few houses away, and an iron and ironing board are available in the house.
Bathrooms
The three beautifully designed en-suite bathrooms feature polished pasta tiles and modern rain showers. A water softening system ensures pleasantly smooth water. Two of the bathrooms have partially glazed ceilings, allowing you to shower with a view of the sky.
You don’t have to worry about forgetting anything, as all bathrooms are equipped with hand towels, bath towels, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap, and a hairdryer.
Patio, Sun Deck, Pool, and Loungers
The garden area is the heart of Casa Loltún, featuring an infinity pool and a spacious terrace with a large sunroof. It is the perfect spot to enjoy breakfast in the morning sun or a glass of wine in the evening. Warm sunlight gently touches your skin, a light breeze brushes your face, and comfortable sun loungers invite you to relax.
The pool’s crystal-clear, sky-blue water offers a refreshing escape. It is filled with fresh groundwater from our own well and maintained by a circulation and filtration system. The entire garden area, with its lush tropical plants, private pool, and shaded sun deck, is completely enclosed by high walls, ensuring privacy and security.
Another covered terrace with seating areas is located in front of the main house. For added convenience, an additional bathroom is accessible from the garden. To meet a special request from our children, additional access points have been installed to ensure stable Wi-Fi throughout the outdoor area.
Additional Apartments
The property also includes four separate apartments, located just across from the main house. If needed, one to four of these can be rented on request to accommodate an additional two to eight guests.
Most importantly, the entire property remains exclusively yours, as the apartments will not be rented to anyone else during your stay.

Mérida is one of the safest cities in the Americas, and your safety is a top priority for us as well. The property features a secluded inner courtyard and camera surveillance. In addition, smoke detectors, a fire extinguisher, and a first aid kit are on hand — so you can relax without worry. The main house also has a safe for your valuables.

Cleanliness is key. Before your arrival, the property is professionally cleaned, and fresh bed linen, towels, and bath towels are provided. If you’d like additional cleaning, fresh linens, or extra towels during your stay, you can book these at any time.
Prefer not to cook? No problem! Our cooking service can prepare delicious Yucatecan or international meals —breakfast, lunch, or dinner — just the way you like them. If you feel like dining out, the great restaurant row is just two blocks away.

Behind the Scenes
Some time ago, we rented an Airbnb and didn’t even need to step inside to know we wouldn’t stay. The pictures looked amazing — but the house probably had, too... twenty years earlier when those pictures were taken. That won’t happen here. We take great care to ensure everything is in top condition.
It’s the little details that make the difference. Our water softening system ensures a pleasant water experience, the pool is filled with fresh groundwater from our own well and features a state-of-the-art filtration system, and additional Wi-Fi access points provide a strong signal even in the pool area. And for a restful night’s sleep, our beds feature ultra-comfortable 30 cm-high mattresses.
