Created for one or two couples, this stylish, dog-friendly hideaway features premium finishes, EV charging, and complete privacy.
Less than two hours from Sydney, it’s the perfect South Coast escape to slow down, switch off, and truly unwind.

The space
Green Door Kiama is a purpose-built luxury holiday retreat adjoining a prestigious private residence, thoughtfully designed to help guests slow down, unwind, and escape the everyday.

Fully self-contained and located on the ground level, the space has its own private entrance (a green door, of course!) and complete separation from the main home, ensuring privacy and comfort. It accommodates up to four guests.

A striking blend of Mid-Century Modern and Australian Coastal design, the home was completed in 2024 by an award-winning local builder. Its all-white exterior, sweeping raked roofline, large windows, designer breeze blocks, and Palm Springs–inspired entrance doors make it one of the most distinctive homes in the region.

Inside, the atmosphere is calm, refined, and effortlessly luxurious. Soft organic tones, premium furnishings, and elegant simplicity allow guests to simply check in and relax. The layout is single-level with no stairs, featuring one full bathroom at the front and a spacious powder room at the rear.

The open-plan living space includes a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and lounge with a gorgeous electric fireplace. A high-quality fold-out sofa bed is available should one of four guests prefer to sleep separately (please request at time of booking).

The first bedroom has a gorgeous garden outlook. Both bedrooms offer warmth and comfort, featuring premium Australian-made modern, solid timber queen beds, generous wardrobe space, high ceilings, air conditioning, and ceiling fans.

The kitchen is compact yet well appointed. Coffee lovers will enjoy the Nespresso Vertuo machine with both 40ml and 150ml pods supplied.

ECO-FRIENDLY BY DESIGN

Sustainability has been a core focus of the build, including:

- 15kW rooftop solar PV system
- 10kw battery
- Solar hot water system
- 3,000L water tanks
- EV charger (free for guests, up to 7.4kW / 32A, Type 2 connector — fits most vehicles; we kindly request charging during sunshine hours where possible)
- Energy-efficient appliances

Even used coffee pods are recycled through the Nespresso recycling program.

Neighborhood highlights

For us, Kiama "must-do" experiences include a walk along Black Beach foreshore to the harbour (see if you can spot the giant stingrays that hang around the pier), then up to Kiama Point to check out the Lighthouse and swimming rockpool and of course to the famous Kiama blowhole. The Visitors Centre is also near there and worth a visit for more ideas.
There is also a less known blow hole, "Little Blowhole" in Tingira Crescent. And another swimming rockpool on the other point near Black Beach.

On a clear day, a drive up to Saddleback Mountain lookout offers sweeping views over Kiama to Wollongong to the north and Jervis Bay to the south.
Kiama has 5 beaches...... from north to south:
Bombo Beach (only 400m from the accommodation but is better for surfing and walking along rather than swimming as it gets very wild!),
Black Beach is a rocky beach in the centre of town not suited to swimming but very nice to sit in the surrounding parks,
Surf Beach on Manning St, is popular with swimmers and surfers,
Kendalls Beach on Bonaira Ave also popular with swimmers, and our favourite
Easts Beach, which tends to be a lot calmer due to its position but is a little more difficult to get to as you need to park in the street and walk a bit to get to it.

Kiama Coast Walk is an absolute must for our fit & active guests. Our fave is the Loves Bay to Gerringong leg, about 6km one-way.
Beyond Kiama, the nearby towns of Jamberoo, Gerringong, Gerroa and Berry are all only a short drive away.

Kiama has many fabulous markets on weekends and a farmers market every Wednesday afternoon. We are spoilt for choice for good coffee and cafes. The "in place" in Kiama is The Hungry Monkey located a short walk from Green Door in the row of terrace shops in Collins St. Great place for coffee, breakfast, burgers at lunch and it is also open for dinner from Weds-Sun. We also love Diggies Cafe on Kiama Point, Little Earth Café in Tingira Cres (near the Little Blowhole) for great coffee and light meals, Parfait Patisserie on Manning St for their coffee and baked goods and Short Black cafe in Terralong St for more great coffee & food. The Brooding Italian is good if you like your coffee STRONG, in Manning st, Kendalls Beach end. Great brekky & lunch too.

In terms of restaurants, our favourite is Silica on Manning street, this is more of a special occasion experience. Hanoi on Manning for good Vietnamese food and Scoops Icecreamery for authentic Vietnamese street food. The Olive and Vine (mod Oz/International) and Zia's Pizza (Italian) are both good choices for family groups with hearty homestyle cooking.

And there is lots of good shopping to explore along the main street Terralong St, Manning St and also Collins St. If you need a major shopping Mall, 80,000m2 Stocklands is located 15 minutes away at Shellharbour, plenty of parking and all the usual chain stores are there.
