Absolutely fantastic location, with fantastic scenery nearby. Had some wonderful walks, literally behind the property. The BBQ area was fantastic like the hot tub. I can’t say much more, but I will be looking to return ASAP Matthew is a fantastic host and nothing seems to be too much of a problem. Loved the place, oh and the Highland cows are awesome.

Luxury Riverside Cottage with Hot Tub

TiffanyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This place is amazing. Great location to travel around the highlands. Every drive is more beautiful than the last. The donkeys are the sweetest and the cows are so nice to hear and very curious. The little produce stand had eggs and potatoes to purchase which was great for breakfast before adventuring out. Nice walk into town to the pub and deli, even got to meet Percy the local peacock. Everyone is so very friendly. Robert shared local spots and even where to visit the hairy coos nearby. I am glad we booked this little oasis before the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Such a beautiful little get away with so many little hidden gems nearby! Was quiet 24/7 and we loved the peace and the amount of sun the garden and hot tub got. Such a cosy cottage and made us feel at home straight away, worth the drive! Thank you for a lovely stay ❤️

Lovely Cosy Cottage with Hot Tub and Real Fire

MathiasRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Nice, old house with perfect garden with tree house for the kids, pool is great. Lovely lonely place, only thing is the main road that is a quite loud, also in the bedroom. Not much space in the house, but enough for us with 3 little kids. No permanent table in kitchen/ living room but a portable one with 4 chairs, best solution with the limited space. Clean, warm and everything there we needed.

Fabulous Family Holiday Home with Hot Tub

NikkiRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We stayed here for a week with our grown children and their partners. Alasdair's cottage was perfect. It immediately felt cosy and comfortable. The games barn was a fun addition, and a great place to store our bikes when not in use. We got the hot tub going and once up to temperature it was easy enough to keep it ticking over for several evenings. The kitchen was well appointed, enough utensils, crockery and pans for us to cook each night. The cottage is next to open fields and farm land with quiet roads that lead to Cublin Forest. This was an amazing place to explore on foot and on bike, especially the peninsula that runs along the Findhorn Estuary and into the sea. Deserted beach and inquisitive seals. We also drove about an hour north to do some hiking at Glenmore in the Cairngorms. After our busy days adventuring it was always great to return to the cottage to relax and sleep soundly in the super size comfortable beds.

Wild Farm Cottage

HarveyRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Truly “off grid” in the literal sense! It runs on batteries and a generator!! Despite it not having wifi we all had great 4G so never felt truly disconnected thankfully. It’s such a private place with literally nobody for a square mile or more probably. I would say in the winter you will need a 4x4 to access as it’s a mile down a dirt track! Amazing place and can’t wait to revisit :)

This is our 4th visit to Railway cottage and it won’t be our last. It’s well placed for driving in to Aviemore, Newtonmore, Kincraig and Kingussie and there are walks you can do from the door. It’s a cosy and welcoming place to stay and very comfortable. There are lots of activities on the nearby estates including quad biking, horse riding, zip wires, canyoning, clay pigeon shooting and archery. Lots of good places to eat too.

We stayed here for two nights before our return to the states to relax from our three weeks in Scotland. Pictures do not do it justice. So close to restaurants and pubs in town and the beach. Small lovely town and everyone is so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Next time I will spend more time here!

Cullaird Cottage near Loch Ness (Pet friendly)

KellyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The cottage is in a great location close to Loch Ness with woodland walks on the doorstep and an absolutely stunning view from the back garden. We (and hour hound Lizzie) loved the fenced garden and the wood burning stove. Although the cottage is on a main road, we didn’t hear the traffic while relaxing in the back garden or inside the cottage and it was very quiet in the evenings. Wonderful gift basket of goodies and firewood at the start of our stay was a fantastic personal touch

Unique off grid cosy farm Bothy in the Highlands.

Jessica LeeRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
I loved this place! It was everything that I wanted. No wifi or power, but I had cell service, better than at other locations during my trip, so I felt connected. The nature surrounding the cottage was so gorgeous and peaceful. The wood-burning fireplace, the bathtub, all of it was perfect. Yes power for a fridge/freezer and the like would make it that much better. But the space and setup and cute battery-powered taper candles along with the fire just created a wonderful environment. I would have loved to stay longer. My last day I didn't leave the property bc I wanted to just be in it all. I walked around the property, read by the fire and enjoyed the place. I would go back in a heartbeat! If you can stay here, absolutely book it. It will refresh your soul and bring you peace. I cannot wait to go back and live it all over again!

Easter Balloan Cottage

RyanRating, 5 stars2 days ago
We spent two nights here while attending a friends wedding and I have never been so impressed with accommodation. Shirley was brilliant, she gave us clear, helpful instructions on how to find the cottage, she welcomed us on arrival and she went above and beyond to make us feel at home straight away by showing us around and providing lovely hampers with supplies in the kitchen and bathroom. Shirley was very friendly and easy to communicate with throughout our stay. The cottage was lovely, very cosy, very clean and tidy. The bed was super comfortable and the shower was brilliant. The kitchen has every appliance and item of crockery you could need, and plenty of storage space throughout the house. The location is great. Rural, very quiet and peaceful but also not too far away from nearby towns if you need to go for food or to the shops. I absolutely would not hesitate to stay here again in the future, and would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.

The Quarry House

JocelynRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This was by far our favorite place that we stayed on our trip as a family over to the UK. Ann had a welcome basket for us on the table & a folder with a layout of the area for walks and recommendations. Ann's place was very clean, private, & so peaceful. Our 4 year old loved making a fire every night & seeing the cow every morning. We honestly did not want to leave this beautiful home & could've stayed there the rest of our trip. Ann is an awesome host, replied quickly to any message I sent her, & made us feel right at home. Could not recommend this host & home enough for your stay in the highlands.

I loved my stay here - Andrew was very responsive and it was great to know there was someone nearby if I had any issues. Beautiful quiet, peaceful setting - birdsong, owls, pretty gardens and nearby forest. There was a lovely home baked loaf of bread and homemade jam on arrival which was really kind. Will definitely be back again!
