Vacation rentals with a hot tub in Playa Potrero, Costa Rica

Wow!!!! Great stay at AirBnb in Octocal Beach. We visited Costa Rica for our daughter’s nuptials and indeed our stay at this AirBnb was an unforgettable experience. It was an upscale home away from home. The service was excellent! The atmosphere soothing yet vibrant, calm, and relaxing. The rooms were clean, spacious with stunning views. The amenities were top notch and every needed for a home away from home was readily available in the home. I highly recommend this AirBnb and my family I, look forward to the next opportunity to visit. Many thanks to our amazing host Alina.

This was an extension stay in the very same gated community unit in Potrero, only 50 m away from the first one, about which I gave a review, and considered it one of the very best of my many AirBnB stays. And as this one happened to be Holly's long term Costarrican home, it certainly was a collector´s item, in many ways and unusually well supplied with all the necessities. Also, the property manager Lis was an excellent help in every potential situation. . Only one thing was sort of uncomfortable to me: the master bedroom bed, although very good in itself, was so low that it almost felt like sleeping on the mattress on the floor. As a very tall and very old man, it was a strenuous effort to get up during the night.If you have your own transportation, this one is highly recommended by my part.

What a wonderful stay. Can't say enough about this beautiful house. Absolutely perfect for our family. The rooms were spacious and clean, the AC worked wonderfully, and the kitchen was full stocked. Definitely recommend utilizing their service to have the house provisioned before arriving. The daily housekeeping was amazing. We had rented a car, so we didn't need the golf cart option. To be honest, it might be too far a trek for the golf cart to the private club, but that's just nit picking as the weather was 90 degrees plus when we were there. The use of the private club was awesome, and we used it everyday. Right on the beach, great pool side service, and dinners tasted great. Honestly we have zero criticisms. If you are headed to the Tamarindo area, stay here and avoid an all inclusive hotel. You won't regret it.

Absolutely wonderful place to stay. Stephen was a most helpful host and assisted us in making all of our plans for a short but fantastic visit to Costa Rica. The house is just as advertised, clean and spacious. The views are out of this world and the access to amenities on the resort are perfect. Quick trip to local beaches and restaurants and we even had time to prepare a few meals in the kitchen. We followed all of Stephen’s advice including a half-day snorkeling trip with Juan Carlos which was a home run! I literally cannot say enough good things about the experience I had with Stephen and his beautiful home. I just followed the playbook he provided during our pre-visit telephone call and everything worked out beautifully. Playa Hermosa’s beach is breathtaking and Stephen made all the right restaurant recommendations! I was looking for a simple and fun trip for my family of five and thanks to Stephen my plan came to fruition. So relaxing!

The outdoor space in the house is absolutely wonderful! Spent a lot of time in the pool, hot tub, and lounging in the hammock. We had some difficultly finding the place and Jennifer was very helpful. We used Google Maps with no problem in La Fortuna, but I would use Waze here. The house has a ton of security features which made us feel super safe. It’s a great location to the nearby beaches and the grocery store. The house could use a little TLC (some kitchen cabinets falling apart, doors that don’t latch well, toilet paper holders that were loose, and could use a paint job), but none of these things took away from our wonderful time at this house and we would definitely return. Pura Vida!

Great location in Tamarindo, clean and comfortable.

Andrea’s place was beautiful! The location was stunning and so peaceful. It’s also a short drive to local beaches such as Playa Negra and Playa Blanca. We also saw lots of monkeys in the trees around Andrea’s place which was incredible. Also Chico, Andrea’s dog, was so fun and sweet to have around. 🥰

Stayed for three nights over American Thanksgiving with five people. Great location that is a quiet but within walking distance of the beach and downtown (15 minute walk). The internet was not working due to an outage for the first two days of our stay, but Nancy was able to provide a back-up solution and was very responsive.

Cassie was hands down the best Airbnb host we've had! She was the most thoughtful and nicest host, sharing a wealth of information in the welcome letter prior to our arrival. In the letter, her and her husband thought of everything to include to make it such a welcome and comfortable stay! Their home is so beautiful and we are so thankful for them to share it with us. What stood out was Cassie's quick responses and going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for a perfect stay, even before we asked! For example, Cassie knew that we were traveling with our toddler and asked if there was anything else she could provide for our child. She arranged for a highchair to be delivered which was so helpful! She was so accommodating and the best host in the most beautiful home.

Pictures don’t do this place justice. It is so nice! Very secluded and peaceful yet only 5 minutes from town with the golf cart (big hills to get there so you need some type of transportation!). Communication with Marco and Todd was above and beyond, they made sure we had everything we needed. We hired the private chef for one night and it was amazing! Really loved our stay ♥️

Casa Serendipity was pure magic for our family. As a wellness practitioner and mama of two little ones, I’ve stayed in many places—but this was truly a sanctuary. Mariela is the most incredible host—like a 24/7 concierge angel. From airport pick-up, car rental, grocery tips, to curated local gems—she thought of everything. The home is stunning, spacious, and incredibly private, yet perfectly located to easily explore the best beaches, restaurants, and adventures. We woke to birdsong, made meals in the outdoor kitchen, lounged by the pool, and even picked fresh mangoes. It was peaceful, secure, and deeply nourishing. Every detail supported ease and connection. After full days exploring, it felt like coming home to serenity. I would stay here every time—we’re already dreaming of our return. Mariela, thank you for creating this heart-centered haven. Our whole family had the best vacation. You’ve set the bar for hospitality, and we are forever grateful. See you soon. Pura Vida!

Hotel Balu was so lovely. We wish we had more time there to enjoy the casita’s space. The coffee machine was amazing and so were the outdoor amenities. Absolutely recommend!

Great location and great views. House was very well maintained and Angelica was exceptionally timely fixing any issues (all very minor). We stayed two weeks and the cleaners came after week one to do the house and pool which was wonderful.

Fantastic beach compound. Christelle's house is the very northernmost on Brasilita where its quiet. House is directly across the road (as close as you can get) from the beach. This is a new house with all the conveniences you would expect on a higher end listing. The outdoor is exactly as pictured and makes it easy to eat outdoors and lounge at the pool. Good security with locking gates and an electrical fence on the wall and an alarm system for the house. Just a great spot if you want to get on and off the beach fast and not be surrounded by lots of people yet be very close to some of the best restaurants in Guanacaste.

The apartment looked better than the pictures. Everything worked great. The people that work at the resort are all very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again.

The view of this house was breathtaking. We enjoyed visiting the town of Tamarindo & seeing the sunset. If you are looking for authentic Costa Rican food make sure to visit the Sodas (what all their small restaurants are called). We enjoyed every single one of them & are very reasonably priced. We visited playa Conchal which was my favorite beach & not far but also did the Leona waterfall hike and zip lining which was so much fun & beautiful. After our activities we were able to come home to our fresh and clean airbnb and dip in the pool then end the night with Netflix or a TV series. We didn’t have the swing which would’ve been a nice photo prop, but that’s alright. We hope to come back again but with our family or friends, we love Costa Rica so much. My husband really bonded with John the security & would enjoy their night talks. We loved how he greeted us with a smile. We will miss him. Gracias amigo y saludos. The place is very conveniently located, 12 minutes from Playa Avellanas and about 30 minutes from Tamarindo. The hosts are amazing and Gabriel, in particular, is super open to making sure the customer is comfortable…for example, after check-out we went to the beach. Since we got covered in sand, we asked him if he would allow us to use some showers that were in the Airbnb parking area. Gabriel very kindly allowed us to use it, and even let us use the bathrooms of the place before we left for San José again.

Great lodging here. The treehouse is charming and full of character. The surroundings are filled with nature and beautiful animals (including the separate and well-attended doggie rescue). This was a very pleasant retreat and I would return there if I was back in that side of Guanacaste. Also, the beaches are close from a driving perspective.
