We had the amazing opportunity to stay at Luz Maria’s place and what a treat it was! Such a cute house in a friendly village, we feel very lucky to have had the experience. We recommend the tamales that they sell in the square and also cenote cancun nearby, it has a diving platform and the kids didn’t want to leave!

Villa Los Gemelos is a truly unique and wonderful property, words don’t do it justice. Fully off-grid yet beautifully designed and thoughtfully equipped for an extraordinary experience in tune with the wonders of one of the world’s most remarkable nature reserves, which the Villa is fully integrated within. Also close to some wonderful and less-overrun ruins at Ek Balam and Izamal, as well as some hidden gems of cenotes. Anthony, Martha, Elena and Fidel were thoughtful, proactive and responsive at all times, yet totally respectful of our privacy and space to fully tune in to the magical environment around the Villa and in the environs of Rio Lagartos and the area. For lovers of nature, off-the-beaten path yet relaxing adventure and slowdown time, Los Gemelos truly is a once-in-a-lifetime find - we look forward to our next visit!

This place is truly magical. The nature and its peaceful surroundings were exactly what we had hoped for. The highlight was the sunbed on the roof. Such an amazing spot. Water was warm and the ocean next to some fisher boats all to ourselves. The kitchen’s plancha was another highlight and we had the most comfortable beds of our whole trip. Our day trip with Paco was a great suggestion by Tomás and did not disappoint- from crocodiles to Flamingos and Pelicans, we saw it all and were also able to stroll through Rio Lagartos for lunch, where we also bought some fresh fish directly from the cooperativa - which we made on the plancha. Turns out best fish dish during the holiday! If you want to calm your senses and relaxation in its true form, this is the place! Two tips from our end: don’t forget there is an hour time difference when heading back to Cancuun airport. And also be aware of potential sand flies.

RiaLuz is nothing short of amazing! We stayed a week and we didn’t move the car once. Ana, the owner, and her team are incredibly helpful and responsive. Fidel, the onsite caretaker, is a gem and always available if you need anything. The kitchen is well stocked and the bed was the most comfortable bed on our 3 week trip. The house is filled with whimsical and inspired art, puzzles and games. We spent our week cooking, walking the beach, collecting shells, reading, puzzling, watching the sun rise and set. It was perfect- peaceful and restorative.

Great view of the pink lakes from the terrace. Flamingos can be seen from March to June. Unfortunately, we arrived a little early and could only guess them in the distance. The place was fine with everything you need. The smell of the bathroom was a bit strange and there was no hot water, but still highly recommended.

The place is beautiful, the beds super comfortable, the soap smells delicious, even the toilet paper is premium. There is warm water, good WiFi, the terrace where the kitchen is is spacious and feels a lot of peace here and throughout the space. My friends and I were genuinely happy and it was largely because of the treatment and energy of the people who were hosts. The caballitos are a love, I couldn't recommend the experience in this space with Andy more. Thank you very much. ❤️ I hope to be back soon.

Great value! Had all the essentials, except television. Hot shower, clean linens and comfortable beds. not fancy but very functional... perfect for a fisherman like me... And the breakfasts were delicious and filling. I requested locally made pastries and breads and they were provided everyday. Wi-Fi worked pretty well most of the time. TV did not work. Location is beautiful. Lovely views of the harbor. Right next to the water and right next to the boat ramp - so it was very easy for me to launch my kayak. and Roger let me store my kayak in his Drive Port so it was very convenient to Launch. the taco stand next to the Mercado and across the street from the Donosusa is very good and very affordable - opens around 7:00 p.m.

In accommodation it is in a quiet and very quiet area, perfect for resting. Cleanliness was impeccable. It is located near the Zoo. The only "detail" is that it is a little removed from the center, if you go by car there is no problem, but it is time to take a taxi, however the taxis are very cheap, and it is very easy to request some by phone, so there is no such problem, however you have to consider it. Host was very kind and very responsive. Communication was excellent. Definitely highly recommended.
