Places to stay in Oaxaca, Centro

La Calera was our oasis in a city for one month, January 2025. The compound that Luis Jesus has created from his families old lime factory is a beautiful, serene and architecturally fantastic space, like living in a sculpture park setting. About 1.2 mile outside city center, it was a great walk for us, learn the upper road back way to avoid high traffic roads. The staff, specifically Ignacio, were so friendly and available and anything we asked they were responding positively. The beds and linens are very good, bring ear plugs if you’re sensitive to dogs and city noise. We were so happy we found and stayed at La Calera for our time in the amazing city of Oaxaca and we recommend you don’t miss the opportunity to stay or plan an event in this lovely, safe, creative space. Thank you Luis Jesus for our time, it was very special.

The house is exactly like the photographs, Jesus our host was very kind and the doubts we had resolved them immediately. The house is super well located, by car it is 10 minutes from downtown. The truth is that we were very comfortable, we will definitely be back.

We were a group of 8 and we all loved staying at Abdias's home. It was the perfect home for gathering the group together, and also having private places to spend some private time alone. Abdias was extremely communicative and responsive and it was clear he wanted us to have the best time imaginable. Flor and Lucy were also amazing, they found out we were celebrating a birthday and surprised us with a delicious cake. The pool was incredible and the water pressure in the bathrooms was perfect, not easy to find in Oaxaca. I would highly recommend this property as the perfect place for a group to enjoy a wonderful city, and feel right at home.

Excellent house to reach Oaxaca, if you travel by car, all tourist destinations are close (by car) the house is impressive, super beautiful, the attention is fabulous, everything is very good. Home Excellence, Attention & Host

Tita’s place was charming and felt very safe. The yard and garden were full of flowering plants and were very well kept-a lovely place to sip coffee in the morning. We spent a week there and Tita and her family made us feel at home-friendly and always willing to help us find our way around. The neighborhood is full of murals and we enjoyed exploring by foot and being greeted by their sweet and very mellow dog upon our return.

Amazing house, a real oasis of calm and beauty. Everything there was great, and exactly as described on AirBnB. Alicia was extremely reactive, very welcoming and had lots of excellent recommendations. This is truly one of the loveliest and most beautiful AirBnBs I ever stayed at - I would definitely come back there if travelling again to Oaxaca. A real gem !!!

Excelene apartment, we were quite comfortable in the apartment of Betel and Javier. Convenient location and quiet. Around cute for walking in the Jalatlaco area.

Very nice place, everything clean, cozy, the hosts were very attentive and friendly, all the recommendations they gave us were very good, a very safe and quiet place, I would not hesitate to return, thank you very much for EVERYTHING.

We were at ease at Gabriela's house, she offers you many things that make us feel at home and that is appreciated. Yes, I think there are some aspects that would need to be improved like showering for example, or they are covered or almost no water coming out. Anyway, that's fine.

This home is so so beautiful! The pictures truly don’t do is justice. Marie was wonderful and cooked us a delicious breakfast in the morning. Will definitely stay here in my next Oaxaca trip <3

We really enjoyed staying in Berenice's place. The location was perfect; it was very walkable to all areas of interest. Her place was as described and spacious. We loved being so close to all nightlife, the Zocalo and all points of interest. The noise and music at night didn't bother us at all. The only suggestion for Berenice is to ensure there are plenty of supplies. We ran out of toilet paper and we were only given 3 towels - one per person. The towels were stiff and it would have been nice to have an extra towel or two. The shower and toilet pressure were a bit low. These issues were minor and we loved our stay. We would recommend her place to anyone who wants to explore Oaxaca! We would totally stay there again.

A GREAT EXPERIENCE TO GET TO KNOW THE CAPITAL OF OAXACA, AND WHAT BETTER WAY THAN STAYING IN THE HEART OF THE GREAT CITY, WITH A GREAT AERIAL VIEW, AND THUS GET TO KNOW ITS LEGENDARY CHURCHES AS WELL AS ALL ITS BUILDINGS WITH A LOT OF HISTORY AND ALSO ITS EXCELLENT CUISINE.
