We had the best time away! Perfect wee spot and felt so much like a home from home. So close to the beautiful mournes and lots of local bars restaurants cafes within walking distance. Gerardine was the best host in every way, she went above and beyond to make our stay special and gave us amazingly local recommendations. We would definitely stay again!!

Having a car at our disposal made this a perfect location. A main train station is nearby or you can day trip anywhere. Our hosts were so friendly and kind. Everything we could have needed was available. If we are ever back, we may call for a visit even if we dont need a place to stay.

Cottage on the beach

The cottage is right on the shore. It is self contained with a kitchen area and small bathroom. The twin beds, on a mezzanine floor, can be hooked up to make a super king-sized bed. Guests will have access to the beach and a garden area. Parking is on site. Although there is no washing machine, I can wash clothes for guests in my house which is next door. I live next door and will interact with guests as much or as little as they wish. I am usually at home, but if I am travelling I will arrange for a neighbour to keep contact with my guests. Coney Island is between Ardglass and Killough. There are shops and restaurants in both. It is under an hour from Belfast and within sight of the Mourne Mountains and Newcastle. Ardglass has a golf course and there are lots of opportunities locally for walking, fishing and watersports. Public transport is limited, but possible. There is a bus from Dublin airport with a connection to Downpatrick. There is a bus from both Belfast airports with connections to Downpatrick, about six miles from Coney Island. If I am home I will pick up guests from Downpatrick. Taxi fare is around £10. The upper floor is accessible to able bodied adults and children, but would present problems to anyone with mobility problems. (See Pic)

Springhill Lodge is a refurbished spacious one bedroom self contained annex with off street parking and own patio area. The annex is attached to our home however has is own private front door allowing you to come and go as you please. (Please note there is access to the main house from the annex however this door will remain locked at all times). Conveniently located just off the A1 and approx 15 minute walk into Hillsborough village where a wealth of amenities can be enjoyed. Wifi included.

Relax and unwind in our cosy space in the heart of the Mournes. We are at the foot of the Ulster way, with the track to the Mourne mountains in one direction and Tollymore forest in the other a stroll is always sanctioned! Then come back and fall asleep In front of the log burner. Meelmore lodge coffee shop is a 10 minute walk Newcastle is 10 minute drive Belfast is a 1hr drive, or 1hr bus journey from Newcastle You really are in the heart of the mountains here!

This guest house has been newly renovated in the last couple of years so it is fresh and fully furnished. It is on the premises of our family home in a quiet, safe and rural area. We had two rooms at the Banoge House and enjoyed our stay there very much. John was very hospitable and the breakfasts were enjoyable with lots of conversation. Relaxed and comfortable place to stay. There are still renovations going on so I can only assume it will get even better.

Banoge House is a wonderful old manor house in the country but a short and easy drive to Belfast. Old-world charm, huge bedroom, a canopy bed, period furniture and a home cooked breakfast. We enjoyed breakfast with a French family, an Irish/Canadian couple and us (three Americans). Delightful company and delicious food.

I've stayed before at Jason's and I've had a nice experience. it's reasonably priced and close to the town of Newcastle. the room was comfortable and warm .... unfortunately I couldn't get the TV to work but theres good Internet connection. overall I enjoyed staying here and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

A spacious bed is positioned between two bedside tables with lamps. A vibrant striped throw enhances the bed’s comfortable appearance. Soft carpeting covers the floor, contributing to a relaxing environment.
